A Greeting With God

I woke up to find myself in a white abyss. Confused, I stood up and asked myself

"Where am I?"

From thin air, a booming voice replied

"This is purgatory, where I decide whether you go to heaven, hell or...Somewhere else"

"S-so I'm dead?"

"No you tripped and fell into the arms of your crush-yes you're dead" the voice sarcastically replied.

I stood there dumbfounded. After collecting myself, I responded to the unseen being

"Alright you don't need to be so rude about it. Who are you anyway?"

"I am god"

I turned around to see a man in his 60s standing around 6 feet tall wearing a white chilton, his grey beard long and tidy, quite a beautiful beard if I may say.

"Usually the angel of death guides the dead to their final destination but she's on holiday"

The so called god continued

"Anyway, come take a seat"

To my left appeared a wooden table with a chair at each end. Not having much choice, I followed the god and sat down, finding the chair to be quite comfortable, as expected of a godly chair.

Upon taking a seat, a folder manifested in the gods hand and upon opening it, he muttered

"Okay...Rin Wearwood, 5"10, 18 years old, white male...ah here it is, your sins"

An awkward silence followed as the god read through my sins. What was really 5 minutes felt far longer.

Interrupting the awkward silence, I asked the god

"Soo...where am I going exactly? Heaven I hope"

The god looked up at me, glaring as if I just committed a grave sin.

"After reading through all the things you've done, looks like you won't be going to heaven."

I was shocked. I had never done anything to deserve going to hell, I wasn't the most saintly person but I was at least kind to others.

"What! Why? I've never killed anyone, I've never stolen! What have I done wrong to go to hell?"

The god looked at me with disgust

"You dare lie in front of me? You've never stolen? What about the time you took money from your mother without permission? On top of that, not once did you pray for forgiveness"

This god is sending me to hell over me stealing some money when I was 11?

I've never met someone so petty. And an old man like this is god?

"W-wait, earlier you said you send people to heaven, hell or somewhere else right? Where else do you send people?"

The god paused for a moment, thinking to himself before saying

"Another world. You-"

"An isekai?" I interrupted

The god let out a sigh of frustration

"Yes yes an isekai or whatever you idiots want to call it. As I was saying before you interrupted me, you have the choice of hell or a new life."

Without a second thought I made the obvious choice

"Of course I'd choose anything over hell"

The god smiled. Pleased with my choice

"Before I send you off, I always give a gift to those that make this decision, usually they take something like proficiency in magic or swordsmanship, maybe a gun or a phone. Hell, one person even took a goddess with them. Whatever it is you want, you can have it"

Out of curiosity, I asked

"Can I be god?"

Immediately I was shut down

"No"

"Can I ask for a ticket to heaven?"

"No"

"Can I ask for a god to come with me like that other guy"

"No we don't do that anymore"

Not surprised with the answers he gave, I took a moment to think, the god watching me patiently.

Finally I asked the old fart

"How about immortality, y'know never be able to die, never aging, that kind of thing"

The god thought for a moment, before speaking

"If that's what you want then you can have it. The world you will be sent to is Eldra, a world that's around twice the size of earth"

The god stood up from his chair and raised his arm towards me, the palm of his hand also facing me in preparation to send me to Eldra.

"Oh, anymore questions?" He added

"Do I get a system kinda thing like in other isekai?"

I inquired

"No, you asked for immortality"

"Shi-"

Before I could finish cursing I was pushed down by an unseen force down into the endless white void, as I looked up I could see the god eerily smiling and waving at me. I could see his mouth move as to say something, but I could not hear it.

I blinked and I was suddenly on the floor in a forest.

Standing up, I observed the area around me

"Ah my favourite isekai trope, waking up in a forest butt naked"
