Chapter Sixty: Too Scared?
Percy's POV
The guts of the little miss needed to be studied. She had returned home, and while Luther and I waited at the gate, she entered—not from the back this time, but by scaling the fence by my mother's room and going to her room.
At that moment, Luther was holding me from storming to her room, while Third and Second had returned and gone to meet her.
"Like, where did she get her attitude from? Your aunt was a sweet lady, wasn't she? Or is this stubbornness from her dad? Headstrong doesn't look good on a lady, you know!"
Luther kept rubbing my back, and I hated it. I was calm, just a little bit annoyed. The someone Third had said she had been with, was it that Hardin boy again?
