The Rebirth Of A Vengeful Heiress

Blurb: “Your Alpha thinks a wolfless girl can’t be the Luna.” Rachael replied. “My Alpha had suggested more suitable options should stay around Alpha Sebastian till he makes a decision.” My heartbeat quickened as anger rose from my stomach at being called a wolfless girl again. Can’t be a Luna? I snapped my head to Alpha Sebastian and he didn’t even look at me. Suitable options? Decision? My fists clenched. “What decision—” Alpha Sebastian left his seat suddenly and I stepped back on impulse. His gaze finally landed on me and a suppressed whimper left me. His blue eyes slowly darkened to red. “Seraphina Renaud. I, Sebastian Theroes, hereby break the betrothal engagement I made with you on 27th of December, 2021.” Alpha Sebastian said flatly, not even bothering to spare me a glance. ~~~ Everything changed after her parents died. Something Wrong

Chapter Twenty-Two: Percy's POV

I had to make sure the little miss had enrolled in the right business school before I could head to base and finish sorting out the assassin problem. Luther was tucked in bed when I left—he needed it, and today was a Saturday.

Someone cleared their throat behind me, and I rolled my eyes as I turned. "Took you long enough." I faced her. She had a slightly proud expression on her face.

She spun around. "So, do I still look like a desperate bitch?"

I raised a brow. She only wore a branded dress, and not even the latest one in its collection, but she didn't need my honest opinion. "Desperate bitch? No. Runt? Still yes."

Her expression flattened, and she huffed. I liked that reaction. "Second, come with me," she gestured to herself. "We're taking the Rolls Royce."

Why did she say that like I wasn't allowed inside?

Surprisingly enough, she slapped the door closed when I got close and signaled the driver to move. The betrayal I felt when my own driver actually listened to her and drove off was real. The BMW rode toward me later.

"Did you see that, Third?" I turned to the young man watching us from the window, another high-ranking butler. "A good Samaritan like me just got trashed."

He shrugged with an indifferent expression. "I'd trash you too if I was the one you called a runt." He quickly closed the windows and went inside.

Unbelievable. Even my own butlers weren't on my side.

I sighed and got into the BMW. As long as she'd be trapped doing brainwork at business school, she wouldn't have time to bother me, my cars, or my butlers.

Yet somehow, that didn't sound very great. One of the fun things about having her around was that she bothered me.

I pushed all that behind me when we reached the road. Second had told me about the lock that seemed to hold important documents at the little miss' place.

I knew a good locksmith who could open it, and I needed to get him to the place after registering the little miss at school.

"Huh?" I stuck my head out when I saw the Rolls Royce driving in another direction. Did the driver forget the address of the business school?

I hurriedly dialed Second's number. "Where are you guys going? We're dropping that menace at school first."

"She said she wants to be the first one to see what's inside the locked vault. I had only told her that we'd be getting someone to unlock it so she'd be at ease," he explained.

I rubbed my temples and sighed. The little miss was a lot of work. "Alright then. Let her come with us. Have you contacted the locksmith yet?"

"I did, and they'll be waiting for us now," Second assured. "Luke will wait with him. We'll pick them up on the way."

Since it had already been settled, it should happen, or we'd be wasting Luke and the locksmith's time. Within ten minutes, I saw the car slow down and pick up the locksmith. Luke went back after explaining something to Second.

He was really serious about his duty to protect the Zen mansion. Many still thought the Zens were there, and any attack would be handled by Luke. He was almost as capable as Liam was.

Our path began diverging into bushes and tall trees, and I knew we were entering the pack area. It was usually in an undeveloped place.

I had found a stray cabin there to relax in, so I bought it, but little did I know it was next to a pack. I still had a bone to pick with the old man who sold it to me, but that's a story for another day.

At least it led to my first meeting with the little miss, despite how conflicting it had been. Second called me again, and I placed the phone to my ear. "Yes?"

"She says you don't need to get in, or you'd be recognized since you have a property nearby. Her pack might be working with whoever's doing this to her family since they're also interested in her company's documents," Second said.

Was the little miss worried about my safety? Cute, but it should be me worrying about her. At least she stayed out of the pack, but now, I needed to go there and see for myself.

Perhaps the assassin could've come from a pack—they were so fast and agile. It might be her pack. "Tell her that I bought the property recently, so no one has seen me. She shouldn't worry; I need to speak to her Alpha as well."

Second replied in the affirmative, and I hung up.

The roads expanded into a more urban setting. It seemed the development would start from the pack and expand around the whole region. Interesting. Perhaps when it improved, I'd resell the cabin for a better price.

Ahead, a plume of smoke rose into the sky. I frowned, remembering my precious ride was up front. I didn't want whatever festival was happening to affect it.

I made to call Second again but stopped when I heard a scream. No way the pack was under attack. I listened again, but there were no more shouts. I also noticed the Rolls Royce had begun moving faster.

Hopefully, nothing had happened, but I told my driver to do the same. The little miss and I should have been in the same car just in case of dangers like this.

We reached the pack, and my butlers jumped out of the car immediately. I waited and stepped out more cautiously, preparing myself for whatever would happen.

I met the little miss holding on to Second as she stared at a building, shock written on her face. I followed her gaze to a huge building engulfed in flames, burning and blazing with half its structure already down.

There's no way that's the apartment the little miss lived in, but her expression said otherwise. Her pack had burned it to the ground.

Something was really wrong with this place.
