Chapter 8

Sky tower located near Incheon around the grass plains of yongin-si. Is a hotel containing 5 ball rooms, two plazas, 4 play zones, multiple casinos an indoor spa and a humongous cafeteria, is one of the best tourist attractions in South Korea.

It attracts people from different cultures and ages all over the world and it was the place where hajun was hosting the second anniversary party this year. He booked the whole fourth floor to give his guests privacy and lined the whole floor with guards for their protection.

6pm on the fourth floor of sky tower.

“I am sure that I don’t need to remind you who you should keep and eye on and who you should get on your side”

Han Suk chin has been going over this the moment we stepped out of the hotel room and he hasn’t been able to stop himself.

The people we should look out for were lee hee Suk and lee bora. Lee hee Suk is an ambitious business man who doesn’t hesitate to use people for his own benefit. He owns a huge technology firm with many take over industries. Lee Bora is another mischievous character, once she sets her eyes on you, she will do anything to get what she wants, be it your downfall or success. She has already been reportedly seen with Hajun’s opponent but it hasn’t been confirmed by either party. The plan is to get them on our side as slowly as possible because as bad as they are, they are useful.

The other people we must get on our side no matter what is Oh yoon hee the Ceo of a massive corporation Min ji-hoo a famous social media influencer and Kim Si woo an old assembly man with the highest ratings in the history of yongin-si, one word from him will be enough to boost Hajun’s ratings to new heights but he is a hard one to please so hajun has to be at his very best today.

“What a wonderful party you have here. May I say, you have really outdone yourself today” Lee Bora said with a gleam in her eyes as she began to approach us.

She was in a beautiful black dress with diamonds, a pair of dangling silver earrings, with a simple silver chain highlighting her dark ebony hair and blue eyes. Every step she took was captivating, turning heads as she came closer. She was as dangerous as she was beautiful. The other beside her did not lose to her in terms of beauty, he shared the same shade of hair as her but had eyes as black as his hair. He was tall and walked with an overwhelming presence that will make lesser men tremble in place. They were quite the pair.

“It’s quite a surprise that it would be this grand considering you were in the hospital a few weeks ago”

It was published in the papers when Hajun was rushed into the hospital but the media were unaware of the details. It was kept under the down low so I am quite shocked he remembered but that will not be enough to cause even a stir in Hajun.

“I wasn’t feeling too great back then but now that I feel better and well rested, isn’t that reason enough to throw a party? Especially if it so happens to correspond with the day I first built my orphanage?”

“As expected this party is all for the orphanage and nothing else like politics right?” he said gaining stares from people who have been listening in on our conversation from the very beginning.

“Preposterous, how could he ever think of that?” she said in a voice dripping with sarcasm releasing a smile from Hajun.

“Why would I ever want to bring in politics when the matter should be about the welfare of these children in need of a home? If you look at the slideshow already being prepared, you will know that this party is to showcase these children and how we hope to keep them comfortable while they wait to be adopted”

The orphanage was not originally his at first. At first it was run down and the children barely had anything to eat or books to read. He began to donate books and food and even begged the neighborhood to donate their used books or any food they could spare.

Back then his company was not as big as it was now so his donation was limited but when it grew and he ran for a council member seat he decided to rebuild the orphanage.

He made it bigger, upgraded their rooms, bought them more toys and changed the cooks. He put in so much work for it to be just for politics and his slide show presented that. It also represented what he hoped for the future of the orphanage resulting in claps all around the room.

I don’t know what they planned on doing by trying to paint him in a bad light but it’s safe to say that they failed and have managed to boost his image among people here.

7pm at sky tower : Hajun’s party.

“I was so scared when they called you out like that. I thought that was the end, I was already thinking about how to pack up and leave!” said chung hee in and over dramatic tone causing all over to chuckle.

“It’s not funny, she was horrifying” he said shivering as if recalling the moment.

After the slideshow Hajun was approached by many people about the orphanage and election alike. He managed to catch the eyes of Oh yoon hee and min jae who congratulated him on putting the evil twins in their place and was even approached by Kim Si woo who wanted to discuss the election.

The gang approached us soon after and we launched into another round of jokes till I noticed something around the corner of my eyes.

I slowly turned my head to the side to get a complete view of him while still managing to act engrossed in the conversation. I continued to watch him till he slipped out and I followed suit.

"To what do I owe the pleasure of you watching me through out the party? I mean as pretty looking as you might look I don't swing that way."

" As flattered as I am at the compliment. You just seemed to catch my eye for a little while. I don’t seem to remember your name being on the guest list. Are my eyes getting dull or did I manage to gloss over your profile?" I said taking a step in his direction.

"It may seem that I have over stayed my welcome but I hope you enjoy your evening Doyun"

And in that moment I heard a resounding boom, loud enough to shake the entire building. Screams began to erupt as people began to panic, sky tower was burning.
