His hurried feet took him through the main hallway of the Academy, his eyes cold and calculative, mind silent but scheming. Something was happening, there was a reason Grengo and Merisset had come here.

Spheris wanted to make sure it wasn't because of him, that they weren't searching for him, trying to keep him quiet about what he had discovered of the Abyss and the Convergence Ceremony.

"Something is wrong." Lirael's words echoed in his head.

"Yeah," Zenn said. "Mages don't just show up in the Academy like this. They don't even like Lord Daligarth. If they're here then something has happened."

"Hmm. It might have something to do with the Demon outbreak in Darkmount a few weeks ago," Lirael thought outwardly. "Or maybe they've discovered something about who killed the Council of Meisters — Spheris? Where are you going?"

He looked back at her. "I have to do something," he replied vaguely and hurried out of the field into the Academy building.
