"Look at that! You're waking up."

Spheris's senses wavered between the fringes of awareness and unconsciousness. The first thing he heard was that soft melodic voice that belonged to the beautiful purple eyes, gently pulling him back to reality.

He tried to focus, but his vision was a blur of shifting colors and forms, he couldn't see much of anything because of the dizziness that plagued him.

He clenched his eyes shut and tried to calm his mind, then slowly, he pried them open once more, hoping for clarity. The world around him sharpened, revealing the soft contours of a room bathed in gentle light.

The dizziness left him, and the face slowly materialized before his eyes — the face of a dainty beautiful girl. Spheris thought she was the most beautiful person he had ever seen.

Perhaps he was still dreaming or the pain in his head was distorting his perceptions. He wasn't sure.
