I Thought I Knew You (Eunseo of WJSN)

Another night with one of those dreams that woke you up in the middle of the night. Yet again that voice that seemed so familiar but so distant at the same time. Then I would spend the next two hours or so going to the kitchen, grabbing something to drink to just calm down my nerves. The presence of the owner of that voice seems to dominate every fiber of my senses that I can't even comprehend what the actual hell is going on. So soothing to the bone yet so irresistible at the same time almost like it was a spell. I felt like I have heard that voice before, but I could never put my finger on it.

I will find you, the voice would say, And once I do, I will not repeat the same mistake. I will never let anyone take you away from me again.

One certainty, that voice is a woman's voice that I am hearing, quite a possessive one at that. However, it is something that I am not uncomfortable with because as a matter of fact, I liked the way it sounded coming from her. I could never make out her face for some reason, and that is one of the reasons why I am kept up at night. I am too curious about that voice and I want to see who owned that voice. This frustration had become quite the dominant matter in these past few months ever since I turned 24 years old. I even went my way to go to a therapist about this matter, but all they said was that it might be the stress talking and so on. My job, ever since I graduated college, is as a video editor to a popular production house that produces music videos, drama series, and movies of quite the popular caliber. Working in a big company like this, the job loads is no joke especially when I am in charge of editing the year's most anticipated drama series. With over 24 episodes to do and meeting up to the quota, it wasn't as simple as I had thought. With only 3 episodes in, my work is already a pile.

"You know?" a familiar figure sat right in front of me as I spaced out yet again, "You been spacing out more than I do lately."

"Eunseo?" I blinked in surprise, "I thought you were to scout the next site for next week's episode shoot."

"Yah! I might be spacing out a lot and joke around a lot, but I get my work done," she jabbed at me with her fork pointed at me, "And you? Shouldn't you be editing for this week's episode?"

"Yah! I might be spacing out a lot and joke around a lot, but I get my work done," I teased her with the exact response she gave which resulted in a piece of fish cake thrown my way.

"Cih.. you suck," she rolled her tongue at me and chuckled along as I did.

Eunseo had been quite the helpful soul during my first year as a video editor. She had shown me around the company when I first arrived then introducing me to some key people that had also helped me with the ropes in this industry. To cut the story short, I owe her a lot. We have been friends from the get-go, and have a lot in common, especially in some weird corny jokes. Two years she had helped me, and two years I tried to return the favor. Anytime she needed help, I would always give the best of my abilities to help her out. We grew closer over the few months when we got the same project of working in the same drama. My buddies in the company thought I was dating her secretly or trying to court her, and apparently so did her friends. So anytime we had a company meal together, they would always reserve a seat for both me and her so we can sit next to each other. She is, not to mention, one of the prettiest employees in the company that sometimes people mistook her for a celebrity, which she dislikes very much.

"So?" Eunseo fiddled with her fork on her food.

"So?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Have you prepared a suit for tonight's premiere?" Eunseo's question had me puzzled.

"Premiere?" I frowned before my eyes widened, "Oh no... It's today? already?"

"I knew it," Eunseo shakes her head and throws a napkin at me.

Tonight is the premiere of the company's 50th produced movie which I took charge of for the editing processes. Of course, there were teams involved in this project, but I did most of the editing of the movie which took quite an amount of time away from me. For a good 4 months on this, I basically lived in the studio for that amount of time because I had to meet the designated time frame. The movie was supposed to premiere 3 months ago but due to some internal company problems, it had to move back to this month, which I had completely forgotten.

"Crap, I haven't..." my complaint was simply interrupted

"Prepared a suit right?" Eunseo states as she continues to eat her food.

"Yes, how did you.." and again before I could finish my words.

"Come an hour early to the venue, I got a suit for you," she winked at me before standing from her seat, "And I have to prepare myself too for tonight, bye-bye." She waved with a grin and just left me there stunned. Being friends for two years is one thing, but to able to catch up on my habits so much is just a whole new different thing.

"I didn't even get to say thank you," I watched her walk out the cafeteria as she turns around once again to look at me, but for some reason, the way she looked at me was different earlier. I thought her eyes just showed a glimpse of color change before she waved again with the same grin she gave and walked out of sight. "Yeah, I need to get out of the studio more often," I shook my head after witnessing that.

"Mr. Kim?" one of the staff of the company waved for me, I didn't notice that he was actually across me after the look Eunseo gave.

"Ah yeah?" I shook the thought away and focused on the staff.

"The new hard drive you requested is already on your desk just as you ordered," He smiled and bowed his head.

"Ah, thank you Mr. Lee," I bowed my head back before standing up from my chair and walk to my office with him tagging along and handing me some receipt I need to sign for my order.

So here I am, an hour early before all the camera flashes started. I am at the almost empty lobby since all the photographers are crowded outside waiting for the stars of the show. The venue for the premiere is quite the popular grounds to the country's filming industry. I have nothing but admiration for this building and the fact that my first ever movie is going to premiere here.

"Get Dressed," Eunseo came out of nowhere and handed me a two-piece, "Go to the end of the hall and make a right, the Van is outside waiting for you."

"Wait what? The Van?" Without giving as much of a reply, he turned me around and pushed towards the direction she just pointed. "Where are you going?" I asked as I try to take a good look at her, but it was volatile.

"I have to walk the red carpet remember?" She said that as if it was the simplest thing to say, "Now go, get ready." And with that I felt no more force, pushing me ahead but when I turned around she had already walked away, a little too fast if I may add but maybe she is in a hurry too. All I could notice is that she is wearing a blazer and a skirt to match, but I got no time to loiter around. I turned my heels and walked in the direction of the Van. It's a Van that is big enough for two stars to get their makeup done by widely known stylists that the company worked with over the years.

"All done," I nodded in approval when looking at the mirror as the stylist finished making me presentable. I never really enjoyed getting public attention that's why I don't really like the idea of walking down the red carpet with so many cameras pointed at me. I made that clear with the company when I signed in. Unless it is a must, I will not walk down the red carpet.

I stepped out of the van and make my way back to the lobby to find that the place wasn't the same as I had left it. It is now crowded with reporters and photographers of the like as the actors and actresses of the movie make their entrance. I stood behind all of them to enjoy quite the display of visuals from both the actresses and actors, but someone else caught my attention when I noticed Eunseo walking behind the director of the movie along with key people of the production of the movie. I should be among them, but I choose not to.

Eunseo was rocking the black with a white outline motive blazer and a pair of black short shorts. Golden like chains around her waist acting like a belt to compliment the already outstanding look. Her black boots just completed the already perfect outfit. Her blonde hair down her shoulders and her make up, just enough to compliment how amazing she looks. She is smiling for the camera, and I have to say, I am lost for words because the lady I used to run into for the last two years is completely different now. She is ready for a show. I was too occupied gazing and admiring her to notice that she had motioned for me to join her on the carpet. I shook my head immediately which earned me a frown from her, and still, I repeated my actions until she glared at me. I sighed and shook my head as I try to find my way around the crowd of photographers. Luckily, there was a doorway outside that the photographers probably used to get inside. I made my way around to meet Eunseo who waiting for me before she immediately walked to my side while hugging my right arm.

"You are as much of a contributor to this movie as anyone else involved," she gritted loud enough before smiling at the flashes of cameras, "You SHOULD be on this carpet."

"I know, but it's too much to my liking," I hissed back as I try to smile decently enough as we walk through the rows of flashing lights.

"Get used to it," she squeezed my arm, "You're just starting, and with the amount of good work you been putting on, nights like these will become a routine when the company trusts you again with their projects, which is a high possibility."

"You know, you're way too confident about me," I lean a bit to her side to convey my words, "Even I'm not that confident about me."

"You should, you idiot," she nudged me with her heels as we continue to walk, "For these two years, I watched how capable you are so don't self yourself short."

"You really are persistent," she always was with her work and with how she is supporting me on my projects, she is a true friend, "But thank you, for always having my back for these past two years."

"You have mine, so why not right?" she looked up at me and smiled one of the most beautiful smiles I have ever witnessed. And I couldn't help but smile back like an idiot because she is just too breathtaking.

I was about to say something to her when one of her assistants grabbed her by the arm and whispered something in her ear, and for another split second, like earlier today, her eyes seem to change in color. This time I am sure I'm not going crazy. "I have to go now," she turned to me and smile. Just as fast as she smiled at me, she lets go of my arm and walked away with her assistant. But before she turned away, her face looked worried and distraught.

I stood silent and frozen on the spot as I watched her walked away farther. Something is bothering her because I have never seen her like this before. My mind, then, kicked into gear as I walk her way. She had helped me for a long while, it's time I do the same even when she doesn't ask for it. I watched them disappear around a corner, but when I took that same spot, they had already disappeared. I began to frown as I walk along the hallway, but then I can hear the sounds of heels clicking going up the emergency stairs, right next to me. That would make sense why they disappeared so fast, but why don't I hear the sound of the door opening. I pushed the metal door as it makes an evident creaking sound. The heels clicking sound goes down to the basement's parking lot, so I followed in that direction.

I don't know how fast I was running to get to her, but the next thing I know, I am at the end of the flight of stairs to a door open to the parking lot. I could see Eunseo running with her assistant. "Yah! Eunseo," I heaved my breath as I called her, "Where are you going?"

She stopped in her tracks and turned to look at me, "Why are you following me?" she said as I keep walking closer to her.

"Why are you running?" I asked back as I stand right in front of her.

"This does not concern you, alright?" Eunseo looked at me right in the eyes before turning her heels.

"Come on," I grabbed for her arm right before she could leave, "What's wrong?"

"You shouldn't be here, Ethan," this time her tone is laced with concern as she looked at me, "Please let me go."

"What's going on? You seem so worried just now then you ran like this," I let go of her arm but still keeping my eyes fixated on her beautiful and enchanting eyes.

She was about to say something when a loud screech of cars came skidding in from the basement's entrance interrupted her. At least three cars hockey stopped right in front of the three of us, blocking the exit. Then at least 6 to 7 men exited from the cars with all black suits all armed with guns and pointing them right in our direction. Without as much as a warning, one of them took a shot at Eunseo's assistant. I was sure imagining she would fall to the ground, but the craziest thing happened, she caught it. I didn't notice her right arm moved until she puts it down and I could see clear as day that what they fired was a bullet, and she had caught it bare-handed. However, that is a bullet I have never seen before because it was dark blue in color. A second later, the blue-colored bullet glows and Eunseo's assistant shook violently as if electrocuted then fell to the ground.

And I have no idea what came over me, but I immediately pulled Eunseo to stand behind me as the guns cocked. "Stay down!" another figure stepped out of the car, this time it's a female, "He's human."

My mind went haywire and confused out of my wits. He's human? Then what are Eunseo and her assistant classified as? But before I made any comment, I felt Eunseo's arms wrapped around my waist, and I could feel her head pressed on my back.

"I'm sorry it had to be this way," another stone cast into my pool of confusion as Eunseo says this. I grabbed her arms that are around me as I turned to look at her with her arms still in my grasp. I don't care anymore for the men with their guns pointed at my back, if they shoot, Eunseo would still be unharmed.

"What are you talking about?" I looked at her full of confusion, but her eyes are brimmed with tears. I've frozen yet again, I have never seen her cry, I thought it was out of fear. I was wrong. It was tears of joy because she was smiling as tears drenched down her cheeks.

"I found you," she caressed my cheek with her gaze so gentle in brimming tears, "I finally found you, my moon." Her touch was so gentle and soothing that I am lost for words for a second. A touch, I am oddly familiar with. And without knowing it, a tear had already fallen down my cheek as well.

"Wha...what are you talking about?" the only words I could say as I am lost in her eyes.

"I told you, I will find you," Eunseo says with a very soothing tone filled with comforting melody, "I only wished it would have been on different circumstances. But I found you. For now, I have to leave, my moon. But I will be back for you. I will never let anyone take you away from me again."

"Sir? I need you to step away from her," the female said as I could hear her footsteps going near me. I was about to turn my head around but Eunseo grabbed my cheeks.

"We will be reunited again, my moon," she gave me a smile and all of a sudden the whole parking lot turned pitch black for a second. And as quick as it turned pitch black, the lights came back on. Eunseo is gone, I turned around to look for her to find that her assistant is also gone.

"Sir?" I could hear that lady talk but in my mind was just Eunseo and the words she had said. I have heard those words before. And then it hit me, those words were from my dreams for the past few months. How did I not put this together? It was Eunseo's voice.

"Sir!" the loud commanding tone brought me back to my senses as I looked at the woman who is now standing right in front of me.

"Y.. Yes?" still another confused response from me.

"Are you alright? Are you hurt?" the woman asked with her black shades covering her eyeline.

"Yes, I am.." I looked at her and gulped, my throat never felt so dry before too.

"Good, you need to come with me," she walks off as she talks. "We have a lot of things to talk about."

"What things?" I asked her as she keeps walking before looking back at me halfway to entering her car.

"Well for starters," she took her shades off, and I gotta say, she is quite the looker as well, "Your friend earlier, she's not human."

"What?" and yet again I am left with wondering questions as the lady entered her car. Who are you Eunseo?
