Chapter 77

Ana woke up when Khai brought her some lunch later that day, but sleep did little to cure her exhaustion. She burned the roof of her mouth as she polished off the hot noodle soup and went back to sleep in Khai's arms while he massaged her stiff shoulders. When she woke up again, it was time for dinner. Although she felt a much better, her body was still listless.

She groaned as she struggled to get off the bed, but quickly donned a smile when she saw Khai's troubled expression. "Don't look at me like that. Every healer experiences mana exhaustion."

"I knew she was getting carried away with all that excitement. She pushed you too hard." He scowled as he referred to Madge.

Ana wondered how someone could look handsome even while making ugly expressions. She snorted at her lovesick heart and darted her eyes around the room to avoid staring at him.
