Chapter Six: Something That Works
Raven and Shawn make their way home, arriving and seeing that Kara and Gabriel were screaming at one another. " WHERE IS THE LAST DIAPER? " Kara screamed at Gabriel who was searching around the house, but finding nothing. " I DONT KNOW! I THOUGHT I GAVE YOU THE DAMN THING! " They both smelled of baby poop and Penelope was resting in a chair giggling at the sight of them both. Raven Sighs. " We weren't even gone that long..." Raven picks up Penelope and waves her hand over her which cleans up her mess and a diaper appears on Penelope. Gabriel and Kara turn to Raven and Shawn. " Thank the Gods you are back " Gabriel ran up to Shawn, getting baby poop all over him. " There has been so much poop" Gabriel begins to tear up as Shawn gags at the sights of all the mess.
" You two are horrible with kids. I'm just pointing that out now " Raven says as she snaps her fingers and the majority of the mess dissapears as she looks down to make sure the space was clean before taking a seat in one of the chairs " We need to talk to both of you. It is something very important and it is something that we are going to have to handle" Kara and Gabriel stand next to one another as Shawn runs off to the bedroom to change.
" OH GOD THERE IS POOP ON THE WALLS. HOW DID YOU GUYS EVEN MANAGE TO DO THAT. RAVEN! RAVEN! IT LOOKS LIKE A TREE! YOU GOTTA SEE THIS" Shawn screams from the room, Raven rolls her eyes and snaps her fingers again, making the mess in their bedroom dissapear.
" Awww man.." Shawn Sighs and begins to change as Raven looks at Kara and Gabriel. " Well...are you two gonna clean yourselves up or.." Kara snaps out of her zoning out and snaps her own fingers which cleans Gabriel and Kara, leaving Gabriel to look at her with disapproving eyes. " You could have done that...this entire time..and you didn't " Gabriel Growls at Kara who tries to explain that she wasn't in the right frame of mind when Raven claps her hands together to get their attention.
" Hey! No! No bickering. We have important things to talk about" Raven points out which makes Gabriel and Kara apologize. Raven proceeds to explain everything that had happened with Shawn's Father as Shawn returns to the room and takes his place by Ravens side.
" So...we are going to...somehow bring back the Lycan's and leave Gwen in charge of the Vampires..and then we are going to make a treaty or something, where all the Kingdoms unite together? " Kara asked This was going to be exceptionally hard work. " Yes that is the plan" Raven responded.
" Well having my people back would make me happy. And I'm sure me and Kara could unite everyone." Gabriel took Kara's hand, looking to her who met his gaze with a smile. His confidence in her reassured her. " I know we can too " Kara chirps back.
" I'm glad you both know that because you two just recently got together and relationships take a lot of work. And you two are very different from one another. You are not even the same species. Which means that learning how the other one works is going to require a lot of time and effort" Raven pointed out but Kara and Gabriel nodded.
" We know. But we have been working on it. And being together, it's something that we are getting better at everyday. You guys know how complicated we have been. But we have been trying our best to get our shit together" Kara smiles and kisses Gabriel's cheek.
" Yeah well. You two seemed to struggle with Penelope so we will see" Raven didn't want to sound too Harsh but this was important and couldn't be screwed up. This had to be done a certain way or everything would not matter in the end.
" We Got This" Gabriel assured. " Good, because now we are going to go Visit Gwen"
The group visits Gwen's home, they had honed in on her energy and found her with Realitive ease though she didn't seem happy to see them whatsoever, along with Nate who had fallen asleep in their chair, cuddling one another.
" What the hell do you guys want" Gwen groans as she cuddles into Nate who was now also waking up. " Gabriel? Your alive?" Gabriel and Kara were shocked to seem them both together. " Nate? It's good to see you! I'm glad you didnt..well..you know" Gabriel smiles and Nate smiles back " Same" he laughs though Gwen refuses to even look at Kara.
" Well..we came here to ask a favor" Raven jumped in, sensing the tension in the room.
" Of course you did. What? What could it possibly be? " Gwen barked at Raven who was not expecting such an attitude. " Well..we were wondering if you would be willing to take your father's place on the throne.." Raven asks to Gwen who doesn't even look at them. " I'm not interested. I'm happy with what I have here, Carry on " Gwen answered which angered Raven. " Listen, I don't really give a fuck about what you and Kara had going on. I could care less. That is between you two. But if you don't do this..the world is going to end. That means us, that means you, that means him " Raven points to Nate which makes Gwen finally look to Raven.
" Oh...can the dynamic duo not handle this shit? " Gwen rests her hand on Nate's Chest where her head had been laying.
" Hey now...you are the one who said - " Kara intervened but was stopped by Raven.
" I already told you. Keep that shit between yourselves. I have a baby to think about. And I don't want this damn world ending because believe it or not, I actually love this world. And I want to see us all make it out of this alive" Raven was getting closer and closer to Gwen.
Gwen thought about Ravens words, she too had a baby to think about and if Raven was correct, this would be affecting her baby as well.
" Look, I really didn't want to have to ask you this shit..but I just.. I need help. If you do it for Noone else here then do it for you and him. " Raven pleaded.
Gwen continued to think about it, before finally deciding. " Fine, I will go with you to confront my father. But I can't make any promises on what happens. And if you intend to kill him, doing so will not be easy. He is strong and so is mother. They are both very well experienced in combat and have a sadistic mindset that would make the world be better off destroyed. She knew how bad this would be. She knew that her father would never give up the throne easily. He loved the power far to much despite saying he took it for the people of the world. This was going to end with someone getting hurt. And it would seem there would be no way to prevent. Gwen would fight him herself but she knew she couldn't risk it with her being pregnant. " I will say this, I'm not going to fight him . Someone else will have too" Gwen answers. " That is fine. As long as you take the throne afterwards" Raven assured her, just wanting her to come with them.
" Fjne. Let's go "
