The car ride was suffocating for Yu Yan. She couldn't stand the thought of Li Jun and Tang Meixue being an item. She busted her ass up and this is what she'll end up home with?

When they finally arrived at the restaurant, Yu Yan sprang up to her feet and immediately got out of the car. She couldn't stand staying inside the car. Her thoughts are suffocating her. On top of that, the casual conversation of the people in front of her made things worse. She felt left out. Like they were on their own world.

Not waiting for the other two, she immediately went inside the restaurant and was greeted by familiar faces.

They have been frequent customers here since high school. Seeing how things inside the restaurant did not change and stayed the way they are used to, made her feel like she never left.

"Yu Yan? Is that you?" asked by the store owner.

"Auntie I'm back!" she greeted enthusiastically.

"Oh my child! How have you been? Sit sit." the store owner said while pointing at the usual table they would reserve for them.

The store was a family type restaurant. Li Jun and her would often eat here after their classes since it was fairly near the campus.

The ambience and the home-cooked meals brought warmth to them. Warmth that they failed to feel at home. Plus, it's better to eat outside with Li Jun compared to eating alone in a big dining hall.

"Where's Li Jun? Does he know your back?"

"Of course auntie, he was the one who fetched me from the airport."

"What you just arrived in the country? You must be exhausted child. Wait here I'll make you your favourite." the store owner said as she got up.

"Also an order of Li Jun's favourite auntie," Yu Yan laughed as she saw how frantic the store owner became. "Oh, could you please make two order of Li Jun's favourite auntie." Yu Yan said remembering that Tang Meixue is with them.

"Okay child, stay there. Wait for me."

As the store owner left, she heard the whiny voice of Meixue.

"..why are we even here? Can't we eat somewhere else? Somewhere I don't know..uhm..clean?"

"Meixue we've been eating here for years now, this place is clean. Trust me. Come on now."

Yu Yan saw the couple approach. She looked at how Meixue changed. She couldn't even see the resemblance of how she was before.

Tang Meixue was docile and timid. That's why she always felt sorry for her. The Meixue she sees now resembles a spoiled socialite that she don't know.

Tang Meixue has a full make up on with bright red lips. A dress that looks expensive. A bag that costs a car.

'And whoah. Look at those heels, I bet they're uncomfortable to wear. Just what the hell happened when she was away?'

"Is there a problem?" Yu Yan asked.

"No." answered Meixue. Tang Meixue smiled sweetly to her. Too sweet to her liking. The type that has a clear stamp of fake on it.

After a couple of minutes of Meixue chatting her ears out about herself. The food finally arrived.

"Li Jun you finally come and visit me? Now that Yan'er is here?" asked the store owner teasingly.

"Sorry auntie I was busy with some affairs" Li Jun smiled. "I promise I'll come and visit more regularly."

"Tsk. Will now visit me cause Yan'er is here." the store owner joked.

"Of course not auntie, I'll visit you even without this glutton here." Li Jun said while pointing at Yu Yan.

"Hey! Who are you calling a glutton?" Yu Yan yelled.

"Yes! Who are you calling a glutton?!" the store owner said while laughing. "Our Yan'er is a fine lady."

"Yes yes. I'm a fine lady." Yu Yan pouted.

"Yes yes. You are a fine lady." Li Jun laughed.

They were having a good time when they heard someone cough. It was Tang Meixue. She smiled at the store owner while saying dismissively, "Auntie can you get me some water?"
