The lone girl

Will you get up you stupid girl the voice of an older maiden rang in my ears .... then I stood up with the blanket still hugging my body I was dozing off when the maiden's voice rang in my ears again ... Isabella are you tired of living , then I got back to my senses took a quick shower , get dressed in my uniform and went to the royal kitchen , have been working in the Palace for the past ten years .

My father was a warrior to this kingdom and he passed away in the war when I was six years old , I have no family my mother died immediately after she delivered off me no one from my father's family are willing to take care of me because I will be a burden to them then king asked them to bring me over to the Palace have been working in the Palace since then .. of course life in the Palace was not easy all well am always bullied by the older maidens because am young , am not allowed to eat with them and am always given foods that looks like left over to eat i was washing the dishes in kitchen when the arrival of the prince was announced everyone was caught off guard no one had the idea that the prince will just show up out of the blue like that, he hasn't visit the kingdom for over ten years now ever since his mother the Queen died during the war and now he is here ! What does this mean .....

The work we did in the Palace that day was so stressful because we had to make a quick ceremony to welcome the prince since he came unannounced, after a long stressful day I was about to go to the kitchen to get to eat ... when I saw Leon the cheif guard flirting with a maid in the royal kitchen, i don't know the girl's age but she should be aleast three years older than me, as they notice my presence they stopped what they were doing then Leon whispered somethings to the maid's ear and she left laughing foolishly . Leon was well know as a mischievous man by the servants in the Palace when I was thirteen he once asked me to be his escort which I refused immediately ever since then he treats me like a pig , when any other maid makes mistake I will be the one to be punished... when the maid left I carried my food and was about to leave too when Leon kicked the plate off my hand causing my food to pour away then stepped on it so that I won't be able to get any from it after that he left laughing and walking heavily , in the Palace a maid is permitted to eat twice in a day and have eaten in the morning before and the one am suppose to eat now was smashed on the ground, so I have no choice than to sleep on an empty stomach I went of the kitchen dragging my feet lazily... and went to sleep

I was on my way to my bed room when I decided to check the dinning if there is any dirty plate there for me to pack when I see the prince in the dinning wearing pure white he look so handsome ... oh my God 🤭 , the last time I saw him ,he was just nine years old I couldn't see his face clearly he was far from me I could only catch a glimpse of his face , he has chubby cheeks and looked so cute back then but looked particularly sad that because he lost his mother and that was the day he left the Palace , ten years it's been such a long time I don't think he would recognise me again I was in deep thought when I heard him hummed ..... hum hum then I snapped back into my senses, am sorry my prince I said bowing it's okay get me a cup of tea he said then I went back to the kitchen to make tea after few minutes I took the tea to him as I was about to place the tea on the dinning table I suddenly felt unconscious and spilled the tea on him I quickly go down and pleaded for mercy am... am sorry my prince I said repeatedly ... but his response got me speechless ..

Have you eaten anything today ? 😳 then I replied yes

When ? 🤯 then he was like morning alone why? 🤧

Then I don't know what to say again .. then he said OK I understand he then asked me prepare food for him when am done I served the food then he asked me to finish the whole food without leaving anything left I was I shocked and didn't know what to do when I heard him said again do you want me to feed you then I took the spoon and began to eat the food quickly because sitting next to him and him talking to me casually makes me want to dig a hole right now not to talk about him feeding me what if the other maidens passed and sees me with me him what will they think of me as I was about to drop the spoon after eating finish then i heard him say good girl then my heart skip a beat as soon as i packed the dishes to kitchen I was about to leave when he said you ruined my dress what are you going to do about it then swish ... i remember that I ruined his white dress ! ..then I told him to give me the dress to go help him wash it then he removed the dress on the same spot and he gave me the dress , I took the dress and leave then I heard him say good night, good night my prince I said back to him bowing.

POV:The prince

I never thought i will meet her soon , i was bored in my room so I went to the dinning to sit when i saw her coming , oh wow she is the one I am so happy that I couldn't help but ask her to make me tea but I notice that she looked pale , I could sense that she was in daze when she saw me , does she remember me well that's impossible 🙅 she was only six years the last time I saw her .. she is now a full grown beautiful lady I must say 🤭 when she returned with the tea she was about to give it to me when she suddenly fell unconscious and the tea got spilled on my dress before I could speak she started saying sorry continuously I was not surprised by her reaction because that is what other maids will do as well .

Are u okay ? I asked while feeling her temperature and her face fell immediately she heard the question I know she was expecting me to scold her but I was asking her about her well being instead also she didn't feel comfortable with me touching her so I withdraw my hand immediately when I asked more questions she looked like she is going to faint if I continue to ask so I let her off the hook and told prepare some food for me to eat .... when she left for the kitchen I smiled I was so happy because she is one of the reasons why i came back to the kingdom after some minutes she came with the food in a big tray and placed it gently on the table then I told her to sit and she did has i said obediently then I told her to eat it the food without leaving anything behind . When she heard that she didn't even make attempt to eat the food she was just staring at me looking confused 😕 then I asked her do u want me to feed you ? then she took the spoon immediately and stuff the food into her small mouth when she finished eating the food she was about to drop the spoon then I praised her good girl I said and she freezed I know the way am speaking to her casually is making her feel uncomfortable and I don't want to drive her away with that so I decided to calm down she was about to take the dishes to the kitchen then I remembered that I need to see her again then I said to her you ruined my dress ... what are you going to do about it then she said I should give her the dress I took off my shirt and gave to her , when I took off my shirt I noticed that she wasn't looking at me she was bowing unlike other maidens that will peep at me and blush... but she just took the shirt and left I was happy that the tea spilled on my cloth aleast I will use that as an excuse to see her tomorrow am a prince and of course I don't need an excuse to call any maid but I just don't want her to feel uncomfortable ... she was already leaving when i said to her good night and she replied bowing good night my prince as soon as she left I also went to my room I was on my way to my room and the thought of her was making me smile I never knew my father was watching me when I heard him call my name Arthur .. he said yes father I answered why are you smiling and who is that maiden I didn't answer him I just smiled and left .

POV: Isabella

There you are ..... that's what I heard as I got into my room I turned to see where the sound came from it was Elsa the older maiden i share the room with , sitting next to her was the lady I saw with Leon earlier at the kitchen I knew it was her the moment I set my eyes on her ... oh you were the girl from the kitchen earlier she said mocking me . Yes I said I was about to sit on my bed when Elsa said to me what's that in your hand I panicked and didn't know what to say then she stand up from her bed and move closer to me , give it to me she said snatching the cloth from me as soon as she checked it her eyes widened what are you doing with the prince's cloth she questioned me .. she was able recognise the prince's cloth because of the expensive fabric it was made of .... the prince arrived today and you've already slept with him my eyes widened as soon as I heard that I never knew that she would accuse me of such thing .. I was lost and I didn't even know what to say can't you speak she said again before I could say anything she moved closer to me then pack she slapped my face and I held my face with my palm and tears rushed down my cheeks then she moved closer to me and said listen to me carefully the prince is mine and I don't want to see you anywhere close to him then she smashed the cloth on my face then she went back to sit with her friend who was laughing at me and continued chatting with her ... I changed my cloth and went to bed I wake up early the following morning I washed the prince cloth and spread it then I took my bath and get dressed in my uniform and went to the kitchen I wanted eat before working so I went to the maid in charge of food to take my food from her I never knew that Elsa and her friend were watching me as soon as I took the food and stepped forward Elsa snatched the food from me and said to me you slept with my man and you think i will let it slide just like that you must be kidding no food for you today she said and trashed my food ... awww don't be so harsh on her it looks she is going to cry anytime soon her friend said laughing at me .. Elsa knew very well that I didn't sleep with prince she is just making my life miserable so that I won't get close to the prince again.

I put on the apron and started working on an empty stomach after working so much and got tired I take a break since we are in the afternoon already I went to take the prince's cloth from where I spread it and ironed it when am done doing that I made my way to prince's room as I was going I looking around just to be sure that nobody sees because I don't want to find my self in any trouble with Elsa again as i got to the entrance I met two guards there and they were both frowning ... I gathered my courage and moved closer to them as soon as I got there one of them asked me almost like he is losing his patience who are you and what do you want ? My.... my na...me is Isabella I said stuttering i haven't answered the next question when he suddenly smiled at me and you may go in and led me in. His reaction got me dumbstruck (▪︎ _ ▪︎) i didn't even remember to say thank you when I got to the Prince's room it was so big and luxurious but suddenly it reminded of my parents room although it not as big and luxurious as this, after waiting for almost 2 minutes I was wondering where the prince was when I heard him say you are here I was shocked to see him sitting on the chair reading so he's being here the whole time .. I shoved off my my thoughts and replied to him yes my prince where is my cloth ? He asked here is it my prince I said bowing and gave the cloth to him and he took the cloth from me the sleeves of the cloth he is wearing was so big and long but I was able see his fingers .. his fingers were long and fresh , his nail were clean , not too long or short and he is wearing a small ring on his baby finger , his finger is just like a female's finger .

Thank you I heard his voice again ... I didn't know what to say so I just replied with you are welcome my prince almost like a whisper I doubt it if he heard what I said clearly .. am waiting for him to tell me to leave when I come him say come here ..... me moving closer to him made him see my face clearly then he saw the mark I got from slap yesterday it's a bit swollen and red .. what happened to you ? I hit my face on the wall my prince I lied. .. oh sorry he said then I replied thank you my prince then he asked again have you eaten ? Yes my prince I lied again but my stomach betrayed me and made sounds I feel so embarrassed.. I lied because I don't to get close him and get into Elsa's trouble again and besides I don't feel comfortable with how he speaks to me casually and I don't know why he is doing that ... I caught the smile on his face when he heard my stomach grumble but he didn't accuse me for lieing instead he said to me sit pointing to the chair opposite him to me so then I sit
