Chapter 4

Prince Ali heard the sound of the broken pieces of glasses and he thought he had died, slowly turning his head to look behind him and also looking around and above to know where he might be hearing the breaking peices of glasses from, as it seemed the people whom were also talking were all above his head, He looked up again and just then crown prince Fedina saw his face, but couldn't seem to recognize him.

Indeed the man whom had slept with his betrothed was a very handsome man and seemed older than him, his rage bowled, and just as he was about to speak to Prince Ali, he heard the neighing sounds of horses approaching and he kept mute and continued watching them with narrowed eyes.

"Prince Ali, Prince Ali!," The shadow guard named Samson called out as he searched for prince Ali, still riding on top of his horse.

Prince Fedina whom was watching stiffened, so the man whom had slept with his betroth was also a prince, he murmured Prince Ali's name,

"Prince Ali..," And Prince Ali stiffened hearing his name been called,

"Whose there?" Prince Ali asked, as he had succeeded in wearing back princess Alesa light undergarment, just then heavy wind blew, swirling heavy dust around and Prince Ali immediately rushed to hold Princess Alesa as the wind swirl some of her clothes away, to the nearby tree, he turned to look back when the dust calmed and he heard his name been called again.

"Prince Ali!.. My prince," Samson called as he quickly found prince Ali. He dragged his horse to were Prince Ali was and halted it. He jumped from his horse as he rushed to help the Prince, whom he saw squatted on the ground like he was doing something he couldn't see clearly because of the dust.

"Let's get out of here your Majesty, the witches will soon be out, we need to leave here now!," He said as he approached the prince having tied his horse to a tree.

Turning to look at what Prince Ali was doing on the ground he observed, "A woman!," He screamed out.

"Oh my! What are you doing with a woman by these hour your majesty, don't you see the sudden change of weather, where did she come out from?, I thought you were just at the river bank now washing your legs, not until I saw your horse running towards me, I knew something was wrong, Who's she?," Samson questioned but Prince Ali didn't respond, he went forward to help the prince and he noticed the lady was properly dressed and seemed unconscious, he asked "Why isn't she not properly dressed?," and Prince sighed and told him,

"I don't really know her, she said she's the princess of this kingdom."

"So what are you doing with her, your majesty, we need to leave here now," Samson said and he immediately saw blood stains on the ground as prince Ali carried Princess Alesa up in his arm, wanting to take her back with him to Kande, as he couldn't leave her there knowing she was truly unconscious.

"Why are there blood stains on the floor my prince and even on your hands and her dress too, is she dead?" Samson asked again looking at the blood stain and just then did Prince Ali realized the gravity of what he has done, he had deflowered her and she was no harlot, but a virgin, he gulped and stared at Samson.

Samson quickly understood the blood as he had been with a woman before, but he still had to ask, "What did you do to her your majesty, you.. you deflowered her?," He questioned the prince, whom quickly smacked him with one hand and hushed him up immediately, while using his second hand to support Princess Alesa up on his shoulder.

"Shut up your mouth before someone hears you Samson," Prince Ali warned, not forgetting the voices that were previously talking above his head before Samson showed up.

Samson hushed up immediately, and tried helping Prince Ali arrange his horse as he went to untie prince Ali horse

Crown Prince Fedina whom was watching them became enrage to see that the man whom had just deflowered his betrothed was indeed a prince, he thundered "Don't you dare touch her, you filthy things!," not been able to withstand seeing them touch his betrothed trying to put her stable on the horse as she was unconscious..

"How dare you touch my betroth, I will come for you all Prince Ali, I will skin you all alive and drain out all your bloods!," Crown Prince Fedina thundered, and just then the radar lights signalled it was about to stop displaying.

"Who is that?" Prince Ali asked, as he heard the voice clearly called him by his name, making him to stiffened as he was about climbing his horse.

"I will come for you all, expect the war you have already created, I am Crown Prince Fedina of Jalin kingdom, I will," and just then the radar went off and stop displaying

"Who was that your majesty?" Samson asked as he also heard the agonizing voice but not as clear as Prince Ali heard it.

"I don't know Samson, He said his the Crown Prince of Jalin," Prince Ali replied him, and Samson's jaw dropped,

"Crown Prince of Jalin!, what does he want from us your majesty?" He questioned Prince Ali as fear gripped him.

"I don't really know Samson, quickly let's leave these place as it not safe here," Prince Ali said as he had already lifted Princess Alesa up, and he climbed up on his horse to support and hold her so she wouldn't fall off. Just as they both turned to go they saw that all the leaves and trees had all dried up, Samson screamed, "What's this, my goodness," frightening at the sight of the dried leaves and bushes.

"Come, lets go, get your horse Samson and ask the other warriors to return back home to Kande" Prince Ali and saddle the horse to move.

"How do I contact them your majesty?, They must have all returned back," Samson said, just as he also climbed his horse.

"Then quickly, we must head back to kande, am sure the rest of the warriors must have gone back, lets go!," Prince Ali wiped on horse to start moving fast, as he held Princess Alesa tight with one hand as uses his second hand in holding the reigns and navigating the horse, in less than one hour they arrived at Kande territory and the guards at the territory entrance gate quickly opened the gate for him as they knew his warrior costume he normally wears to combat the enemies.

The head guard at the territory boundary between Acan and Kande Kingdom, quickly brought out a two wheel carriage and offered to help the prince carry the woman whom seemed unconscious to the hospital, but Prince Ali replied him,

"No nevermind, thank you Damdi, I can manage to ride faster to the palace in my horse than in the carriage and it might breakdown even before the rain starts," he said as he quickly wiped on his horse to move faster

Thirty minutes later they arrived at the Kande royal palace and the guards at the entrance gate opened the main gate for Prince Ali to enter into the palace. Prince Ali came down from the horse back still holding Princess Alesa as he immediately carried her in his arms and took her to the Royal physician department in their royal castle.

His mother, Queen Mahama stood watching them from the second floor were she stood waiting for him to arrive into the palace as she has been worried about him, ever since the witches curse broke out.

She saw him rushed into the royal physician department, carrying a woman in his arms, but she couldn't see the woman's face clearly as the weather had completely turned dark, and they could only see with burning lanterns that were lighted all over the castle even though they were still in the afternoon, it seemed more like they were already in the midnight.

She have a sign of relief knowing his safe and back into the palace as they all knew he would be returning back to Kande, but hadn't expected the witches curse to break out same day as his return. She turned and went back into the castle, closing the door behind as she knew now that the clouds has changed, the witches and wizard will soon be out. The Jalin kingdom and it royal empire were no good and anyone whom values his/her life feared to associate with them.

They were not really humans, but beings that possessed immortal powers, if not that they had human form and one could see them, they could have been assumed them as gods, or ancestral beings.

She closed the window, for fear that a witch might fly into it, if she left it open as she didn't even know what a witch looked like, but no one dares to joke with the legendary scripts, even though some do not believe it, and all they have read about the Jalin kingdom, they still do not make any attempt to mess with the legends and forbid anyone from Jalin to enter into their kingdom as they knew how manipulating the Jalin people are and hated the thought of having a witch living amongst them, anyone caught in Kande doing magic was either killed or thrown into the dungeon.

She held her little daughter's hand and went down the stairs with her, to go see Prince Ali whom had just returned, and to properly welcome him from winning the arranged battle that his father assigned to him to proof himself worthy of becoming the next king of Kande kingdom.

Queen Mahama knew if it wasn't for the witches curse that broke out and the sudden climatic change in the weather, many citizens of Kande would have been outside, in front of the palace, joyously waiting to welcome her son from winning the fighting challenge, but as the people saw the lightening striked and the birds chirping, and the immediate change of weather from day to instant darkness, they immediately rushed back into their various homes, shutting all windows and door, while burning only lanterns in their home, leaving only a small space opening in their window, for ventilation to come in and out, so as not to suffocate.

She wanted to the royal physician department, downstairs in their royal castle as she gently pushed the door open and stepped in.
