Her Name Is Bella

Bella held her breath as she waited to hear Dan's response. Why the heck had she not just shut the damned laptop down? What was the point in hiding the damned hairpin if it was still going to come up in their discussion in such a manner?

"I'm not doing it for just his sake. I'm also doing it for myself," Dan said, deciding that half-truth was going to be better than a lie in this situation.

Joan gave Bella a knowing look. Of course, she had been right. She knew Bella well enough to know when Bella was trying to hide something from her, and it was obvious to her that Dan was partially trying to cover for her, "You were the one looking at these hairpins? I thought it was Bel... Ben," Joan said, giving Bella a pointed look, before returning her attention to Dan.

"Come on, baby, stop disturbing my boss. Let's go have breakfast in the room," Bella said in an urgent tone.
