Chapter 5

Alexander went back to his chamber still thinking about the girl he bought at the market today. She was way younger than him, he's twenty-four and she's seventeen but she was a beauty. And when she bumped into him, even though she was covered in mud, her scent was breathtaking, when she looked into his eyes, he felt a spark and he decided that she would belong to him there and then.

"Leroy" he called one of his guards from inside his room.

"Your Highness, Leroy is not here at the moment" Isaiah replied from outside.

"Okay you go and check on the girl, if she's done then bring her to me"

"Yes Your Highness"

Isaiah's footsteps filled the silence that followed. Alexander was about to sit down when his right-hand man called from outside.

"Come in Ethan" he said

Ethan walked inside, "Your Highness, the Queen requested your presence" he said.

"Which of the Queens?"

"Her Majesty Makena" Ethan replied.

"Tell her i would be with her soon, i have something important to do first"

"Okay your highness" he bowed and left.

Queen Makena was the first queen who was also Alexander's mother. His mother had three children, him and his two older sisters while the other Queen had only one daughter.

'It is beneficial and fun to be the only prince of the kingdom', Alexander thought.

He does anything he wants and the King does complain because he was his only son and the heir to the throne.

** Meanwhile Jaelynn followed the maid to get food and clothes. The maid handed her a bowl of rice and pair of clothes.

"Here, eat this and change into the gown, if you need anything else just call me" she smiled.

"Thank you" Jaelynn smiled back

The maid just nodded and said "You can call me Delaney"

"I am Jaelynn"

"Nice name, i have work to do, see you around Jaelynn" she said and left.

Jaelynn just decided to look around to see if there's a hidden place she can change but it seems there wasn't and everyone in the big kitchen were extremely busy.

"Hey there" she heard another maid call

The maid came closer to her.

"My name is Cora, i see you're new here" she said with a smile.

'People working in the castle seems nice' Jaelynn thought to herself.

"Yes I'm new here and I'm Jaelynn"

"Why don't you come with me to the back so you can eat there and change too, its getting pretty late" Cora said.

It was already getting dark outside, she should eat fast and maybe work a little before she goes to bed.

"Sounds like a great idea" Jaelynn smiled.

Just as they were about to leave through, the back door, a guard opened the front door that made every maid in the kitchen stopped what they were doing.

"Where is Jaelynn?"he said

Jaelynn felt her heart beating faster than normal as she raised her hand.

"Here" she said

"Come outside quickly, the crown prince requested your presence"

This made all maids snapped their heads to look at her with a hint of jealousy in their eyes.

Jaelynn finished up quickly with the help of Cora and went outside.

The guard led her to the prince's room.

"What is your name?" he asked her.

"Jaelynn"

"I am Isaiah" he said

"That's a nice name Isaiah" She smiled

"We're here, go in, His Highness is waiting"
