Chapter 85

When we left the boarding house, Mr. Shark and Miss Butterfly were getting ready to depart. We hurried to their car and took a seat in the back.

"Put on your seatbelts. This is going to be a bumpy ride," warned Mr. Shark.

"So we're really heading directly to where Mr. White is to confront him?" I asked.

"We won't confront him directly. We're going there to assess the situation. If Nathaniel really did call reinforcements, they should be there. It would be unwise to just rush in with no plan."

Mr. Shark started the car and began driving.

He continued, "We need to figure out who is really on our side. We may have the same enemy as Nathaniel, but our goals could be different. I wouldn't want to support another faction trying to take the books for themselves."

"You have a point," Gene agreed.

Miss Butterfly finally got off the phone. "Mr. Owl and the others will catch up with us soon. They should be there in thirty minutes or so."
