Chapter 72

After placing the soup bowl on the bedside table, I decided to go to the toilet. The moment I stood up, I felt dizzy and lost balance. I fell on the floor with a thud.

Gene was quick to react. He showed up at the door shouting, "Are you alright, Beatrice!?"

"Don't worry about me. I'll just crawl to the bathroom." I gave a thumbs up of assurance.

"Don't make life harder. I'll help you up."

He moved beside me and placed my arm around his neck. When he lifted me up, our faces were just inches away from each other.

"Are you alright with us being this close?" he asked in a worried tone. His face was already visibly red.

"I'm already used to you, so I don't mind," I replied.

"I see."

He helped me walk to the bathroom and waited for me outside.

Once I was out, he placed my arm around his neck again. "Back to bed?"

"Nah. I already slept the whole day. Let's play some horror games!"

"Always eager for horror games, huh?"

"Come on, we need to unlock those other endings."
