Chapter 46

In merely a few seconds, all three were down on the floor after Gene. He executed swift movements hitting pressure points with precise accuracy. Something I never thought he'd be capable of.

"Are you alright, Beatrice?" he asked calmly.

I was speechless for a short while. "Since when did you learn how to fight like that?"

"Well...I...Uh...Kung-fu movies?"

He waited for my reaction.

"So that's your secret...Maybe I should marathon more kung-fu movies," I mumbled to myself.

Gene bent down to take the keys from the unconscious men's pockets and checked them for any identification. Upon finding an ID, his face turned serious.

"Who are these people?" I asked.

"I don't know, but they appear to be linked to a company called Materia." He showed me the ID.

"What kind of company is that?"

"I don't know. I've never heard of it." He kept the ID in his pocket. "Mr. Shark might know. If...he's still conscious to tell us."

"Should we contact the others in Aqua Chrysalis?"
