Chapter 25

When Gene and I left Mr. Shark's room, I asked: "Hey Gene, isn't this boarding house called Aqua Chrysalis too? Does it have a connection with the research facility Aqua Chrysalis?"

"Actually, the people living here used to live in that building. They were left homeless after that incident, so they decided to build this boarding house so they can keep staying together," he replied with a straight face.

"Wow. I didn't know this place had an interesting backstory."

"Did you notice how the people living here have animal nicknames?"

"Yeah. I noticed."

"There was actually a purpose for that. When they were living in Aqua Chrysalis, each tenant had a floor all for themselves which they had to protect from invaders. It was important that they hide their real names to prevent other forms of attack."

"Wait. Wait. What? This is starting to sound like a book series." My head was spinning. I knew Gene was being serious by the look he gave me, but it all sounded a bit crazy.
