Chapter 1: It has begun (Liam)

"I still think these robbers are like crazy man. Like did u see what they did at that gas stations convenient store two weeks ago?" said Taiman'a, wagging his shaggy hair as he frantically shakes is hands..

"They like actually threatened to blow up the gas." He adjusts his school chair and desk to better face me.

(As usual, Taiman'a can't help but talk over everything, he's almost as bad as Juliana), I thought to my self.

"Then why don't you tell me how you'd do it?" I asked

"W....well...I sure wouldn't do it like that, someone could have gotten hurt man."

"So you don't know how else to do it then." a devilish grin slashed across my face. I could hear Niyuki giggling in the background.

"Quiet Niyuki, you don't have a plan either!" He snapped.

"Actually, with my miso I don't need to worry about some stupid plan. My slime body lets everything pass right through, simple in and out." His green skin glistened in the afternoon light as he loosened some of it letting it drip off of his fingertips.

The bell began to wring for home time.

"All someone has to do is change your temperature to a certain high or low degree and you're finished." I said mockingly, "Every miso has a weakness, you just need to find and exploit it." The class began to walk out pushing their chairs away. The teacher was slumped over his computer, (I guess it's another later night for him.)

On our way home the sun began to set as street lights turned on. A cool breeze washed over us like a crashing wave, looking at the time I realised how late I was. "Hey guys I gotta go, I've got Karate class to attend."

Taiman'a looked at me with disappointment.

"You're always disappearing on us."

"Ya, I'm sorry. See you at school." I quickly dashed off, (I feel bad about lying to my friends but they can't know what I'm really doing). While sprinting I really began to regreat not leaving a sticker at Hida's place. You see, my miso allows me to use small sticky calcium disks from my spine which stick to any surface and dissolve on command. Once there I can use them to either Teleport to the disk or trade places with the disk and whatever it's attached to all with a snap of my fingers. I can also trade 2 disks and their items but not teleport them without an anchor, another disk. Chishamiso, or miso for short are a bloodline trait passed down families. Everywhere in the world you'll find nature energy, or Hearth Ether. Humans can absorb Hearth Ether infinitely and combine it with Spirit Ether creating chishamiso. When we do this it brings out the latent genetic abilities we have but at a cost, the human body simply isn't built to survive such a jolt of energy, if you're body and mind can't hand using miso, it'll rip apart.

As I reached a corner I saw someone doing parkour over rooftops, his red fire like hair shone in the moonlight. He was tall and slender, with a single golden earring on his left ear. Pretty boy was looking as sharp as ever, well...for a guy in school uniform. It was Hisashi Mori, once he noticed me he motioned for me to throw a disc and teleport to him.

From the rooftops I could see the scrapyard off in a distance. Hida's house wasn't far.

"How does a guy with teleportation powers always arrive late?" he asked as he jumped on to a local guillotine and on to another roof, his red and blue eyes searching ahead for the next building to hop on.

"Give me a break man, I forgot to leave one at the scrapyard okay."

"Well be ready, Hida is gonna kick your ass for being late, hahaha." he said with glee in his voice.

"Ya no, I think you will be the one reciving her attention." A beating may have been waiting for us but still, the view we had was breath taking. The sun hung low casting an explosion of crimson, magenta and rosè over the ocean. On the opposite side was the moon with its white and dark blue, complimented by a starless sky. The Island was too beautiful for words.

After about thirty minutes of rooftop jumping we reached the scrapyard, one of Hida's face recognition cameras spotted us and opened the gate. We walked into the make shift House, formally a small metal recycling plant and into the living room. A tall brawny looking man with a vikings beard was fast asleep on a couch. He was dressed cartoonishly like a hero, cape and all, it was Hida's brother, Sweet. Trying not to disturb him we walked past the old rusted machinery and down the secret basement hatch to find a long corridor with small purple neon lights. At the end was a door with a symbol on it. A purple, green and white dragon curled up on the words Phantom Dragons.

"We're home Hisashi...we're home."
