[Improved Data Base:] Allows the system more information on the world and better analytical capabilities as well as access to future upgrades such as [Map function] and [Data Collection Function].

[Skill Point System Function:] Allows the user to convert 25 Energy points into a single skill point that will allow the user to upgrade a skill by one level.

[Affinity Point System Function:] Allows the user to convert 50 Energy points into a single Affinity point that will allow the user to upgrade a skill by one level.

[Improved Permanent Sacrifice Function:] This will increase the efficiency of the [Permanent Sacrifice Function] as well as allow the user to upgrade the skill [Mana Reaper] to level 5.

Drew found himself in this dark, void-like space once again. The only thing in this space was his mind and the system panel in front of him.

'There is only one new Function and it is just an upgrade of a previous function...' Drew said with disappointment before actually reading the upgrade and realizing that it was much better than he thought.

'This upgrade of the Sacrifice Function could help me gain more energy points as well as make me much more efficient against magic users!'

'This is an incredible upgrade!'

He reviewed the other choices and remembered that [Improved Data Base] was the Function that would unlock the most options upon unlocking it.

'It is a tough match between the two...' Drew thought as he compared them over and over again in his mind.

'Do I want more future possibilities or immediate strength?'

'[Improved Data Base] would also allow me a greater understanding of the world and it might help me learn skills faster if it can analyze them and make more effective training methods...'

He thought for a long time and after some frustration, he decided that he would choose [Improved Data Base] to not only open up more options in the future but also help him gain more knowledge so that he can improve quicker on his own compared to only getting stronger by a system upgrade.

[Yes] [No]

'Yes,' He said hesitantly.

[System overhaul will now commence!]

'What?' Drew asked, baffled at the words that were just spoken to him.

And then the world became dark.

It was cold.

There was no light in sight and the void in front of him seemed to stretch out for all eternity.

'System?!' He called out but nothing responded.

He tried to move and found that he could float through the air, albeit at an incredibly slow pace.

He wouldn't have even been able to know if he was flying or not if not for the decreasing temperature as he moved further away from where he started.

'What is going on?'

Time had become irrelevant.

Drew had stayed here for what seemed like years though he wasn't certain since he did not sleep and there was nothing to measure time within the vast void his existence was trapped in.

He had explored this infinite space for what felt like forever. And he never managed to get used to the chill that permeated the air.

After exploring space for years on end he became vastly bored and decided to pass the time with a method he had used a long time ago when he was still on the planet he had been transported to.

He started to meditate and focus.

After that, time began to move much faster. It was much more bearable than before.

He knew he had managed to gain the skill he sought out back on Lune. He had managed to unlock [Focus] and from the looks of things he had managed to increase it by a few levels due to how silent and boring this space was.

Nothing could turn his mind from the tranquility that was his mind in this space.

And because of that, his experience with the skill soared to an unbelievable level.

Time passed and after decades of solitude Drew felt calm energy fill his mind and wipe away the loneliness he had felt moments before. It took away all the negative feelings he had bottled up here and returned his mental state to its peak... No... Past its peak. It had reached a new height that he had never once been to before.

He stared at the system status that had shown itself after all this time and he found that not much had changed other than a search prompt bar that had appeared on an additional window.

'This is what I was imprisoned for...' Drew thought as a bit of bitterness escaped the calm energy that still flooded his mind.

He stared at the status and found that although the layout had not changed much, quite a bit of new skills had revealed themselves to him as well as a new affinity.

[Time Magic Mastery: Lv: 1]: Your current level of mastery with the Time Magic. The pace at which you increase this skill varies depending on many factors but the main one is your Affinity with Time Magic itself. More information will be revealed when you explore the mysteries of time magic.

The User gains a large increase in their resistance to all mental status effects and is immune to any mental status that is level 3 or lower. You have superb composure and you will not get frightened by any means under a level 7 skill and even then the effect of said skill will be reduced by a large amount. You also have a major combat boost against those who have a lower level [Focus] Skill compared to you.

'It was gainful despite the amount of suffering I went through... was it worth it though?' Drew thought to himself as his memories of the void began to grow foggy and the time he spent there became less impactful.

'My memories are really getting tampered with,'

Drew looked at his new skills and felt awe at just how crazy his abilities had increased.

'I gained Time Magic Affinity somehow... Probably due to a large amount of time I spent in the void. There wasn't much to do and meditation seemed to allow me to change my perception of time... maybe that's it?'

'[Focus: Lv: 3] is also thoroughly impressive. My combat level and mental strength should be on an entirely different level now,'

Light came back to him and he found himself back in his Shack.

He breathed in the air around him like he was starving and felt as if the sunlight on his skin was a blessing from the gods above.

His mind had almost completely blocked out the void but he still felt a great instinctual fear of that place. Though it shouldn't affect his mental state now that its impact has been reduced.

After getting his fill of nature he sat down on the bedroll in the Shack with exhaustion evident on his face. He was tempted to fall asleep but decided that he should just scroll through the system page to see if there were any details he missed out on.

He examined it closely and he did indeed miss out on some information that was relatively useful to him.

'I'm 20 years old... It doesn't feel right being an adult. I just still feel like a teen lost in a world that is two sizes too big for him,' Drew thought as he moved on to the next important piece of information.

'Some of the titles got organized better and look a little more aesthetically pleasing which is a nice touch. The energy pool got increased to 300 points from the previous 200 points. It seems like it only increased by 100 points after each level up which isn't so bad seeing as I can sacrifice magic items to gain power points now,'

'And the more important thing that is hidden in the list is that the next upgrade for the system will provide two system upgrade points which will help me increase my strength even further while not being torn between two really good choices like last time,'

After examining the page for a long while Drew found himself nodding off to sleep and he gently fell over to his side and began to snore in an incredibly loud fashion.
