CHAPTER 3

My ears numb for at the silence.

The fearless look on my face earlier becomes fear.

"I won't let YOU!" I shouted. Because of the fears I felt, I stand up on my feet while looking at him.

Everyone In the dining area got shocked at my reaction even Jack his smirk fade and change into clueless mouthed open. But the guy who makes me feel this just laugh like an idiot.

"HAHAHA okay, okay..underst-fftt-ood" he said between his laugh. It's so annoying, I hate him so much.

"Wait, what are you talking about Mr. Mercado? What's with Rex?" Dad confusingly ask, my Mom and Lester waited for my answer. I glared at Mr. Mercado.

He saw it but he just laugh. It's like his making fun of me. This sh*t man.

"Don't making fun of my sister old man." My brother said in a baritone voice that echoed in the dining area. And just by that Mr . Mercado fix himself, trying to maintain his self but there still smirk on his face.

Lester get up and he pulled me on his back like protecting me against them.

"Mom make them leave, our dinner is done." My brother might be just silence but when he once say something or make a command. It should be followed.

His different person when his mad that's why Mom and Dad always do whatever he said. My Mom got up on her chair and also Dad. Don't know what's happening.

"I'm sorry but-" Mom didn't get a chance to finish her sentence when Mrs. Mercado interupt.

"Wait? What? Why are we leaving early when we didn't even discuss the Wedding of my Son and Alli?" my eyes got bigger.

"WHAT??"I shouted. I look at Dad and Mom who is avoiding my gaze the only person can look at me is Lester. "Big brother what are they talking about?" he just look at me.

"What's with the Wedding?" no.. this is just a prank right?no.. not this one please…

I sob, my tears are now flowing, I covered my face with my hands. I felt Lester hands on my back caressing it to make me calm down.

"Ssshhhh." What's needed to happen again before this night end? Where I can get my peace? Where I can breath? Where I can find the peace I wanted right now?. It's too painful here.

"I'm sorry but let's all talk about it on another day." Dad said and mentioning them to leave.

But before Jack leaves he said something makes me wonder too.

"Why protecting him when you're the one who's hurting?" and it hit me. I supposed to be cursing Rex but damn is it my fault to feel get tired at first before even I do it? And I think I love him enough to feel that way. I don't want to hurt him.

And how did he knows that?

"ALLI!!?" I got startled. My body stiffened and before I knew it, my right cheeks felt numb for a second.

Mom slapped me.

"MOM!" lester shouted. And pulled me again to his back, I am now facing his whole back to protect me.

For the first time. She slapped me. I can't believe it. I want to cried but I guess my tears won't flow by just the physical pain.

" Why do you have to shout at Mr. Mercado!? And you even stare at him like you want to kill him. Are you even thinking Alli, Is it about Rex? Now I know at the first place that guy is bad for you but I trusted him. Now talk to me and explain why just because Mr. Mercado say Rex name you immediately shouted at him!?" she said frustratingly.

I didn't say anything and I won't say anything. She just slapped me and did not even say a sorry.

I caress my face gently I can still feel the pain on it.

" Mom stop it, let Alli rest, please.." My brother pleaded her but I guess she really badly me to get Married at Jack and to be a Mercado huh.

"That's the only opportunity to make your father a Politician, they are huge enough to make your father a Mayor of Makati." Money… again.. I bet that father don't want it either but he doesn't have a choice, his under. Can't say no.

"Is it important more than your daughter's happiness?" I untie Lester grip on my hand and step forward a little so that she can't hurt me again if ever she's planning. This is the first time her being aggressive on me. Is it really because of money?.

"it's for your happiness, that's why you will Mary Jack Mercado." She raised her hand like I'm an idiot that I didn't know about that. My hand is shaking , I can't belive this.

"How can you say it's my happiness? Do you even know that word? And the best term for what you are doing to me is "Prisoning"!" I know I'm too much now but I just can't let her looking down at me even though I'm her daughter.

My eyes got bigger when all of a sudden she's now infront of me burning on anger. She raised her shaking hand ready to slap me.

I shouted.

"ahhh" my voice echo in our house, my hand is now on my ears and my body is now shaking. unstappoble.

"Helen!"

A long silence before I opened my eyes, I didn't felt anyting on my cheeks. I saw the person I didn't expect to be here. My favorite auntie of course because she is the only sibling of Dad. Auntie Loreine.

I saw how Auntie Loreine grab the hand of Mom and hold it tightly, I saw how my Mom flinch of pain after all she got black belt at taekwondo.

"What do you think your doing? I warned you a long time ago that you will not hurt Alli or Lester." She greet her teeth. "do you want me to get mad?" mom afraidingly shake her head. At the same time Dad entered the dining area after he accompanied the Mercado family's.

"Stop it Loreine." Auntie rolled her eyes before let go Mom's hand in a harsh way.

Auntie approach me…she's so beautiful as always. My flawless Auntie. She kissed my cheeks and Lester.

And by that she announce something that make my whole life shakened.

"From now on. Alli will be living with me. No objection."
