The Parasite's Evolution To Supremacy

Chronicles Of New World was a game that was known all over the world for being the most fun and challenging game. This was a Virtual Reality Game and you could play it using what they called; Recreation Helmet. It should be the most outstanding and the happiest day of my life because I was sure that I can now reach the highest level. However, something unexpected happened afterward. Yap. I successfully reached max level, however, the next second after that, my levels started to decrease until it "the level" turned back to zero.  I thought it was just some kind of bug or whatever, so I tried to log out, only to find out, I was no longer able to. . . . This is a story of a young man named Arthur who used to play games every day as his pastime, however, unexpectedly got stuck in the game after reaching the max level. Watch as how he, who got stuck and lost all his experience when he came back to level zero, once again soars towards the sky and finds how to log out. Fortunately, in exchange for his lost levels and all skills, he gained an OP race, Ancient Parasite.  With his new race, he obtained the ability to steal skills, shapeshift and become more aggressive in leveling up. Encounter A Trouble

Two days passed within the blink of an eye.

After the forsaken two days, I was finally able to get out from the damn forest.

Fortunately, although I almost died and got trapped for unknown times, I remain alive right now.

It has been three days since everything happened.

At first, I was hesitating about what to believe, but after my experience these past two days, only then I got a grasp of my situation.

It wasn't a bug, not that I got stuck, but I am now living in this world, as if my body on earth died and my soul was now wandering in this unknown but familiar world.

The game world and this world looked the same, but there were many differences too.

I can't say they were one, but I can claim that they were familiar.

With the skill that was bestowed to me by my evolution, I wasn't completely hopeless. At most, in my journey out from the forest, I was able to kill some beasts that were either sleeping, off guard, already damaged, or weaker race.

I found out that the abilities I got after turning into a parasite were very beneficial to me.

Not only was I able to kill beasts, but I also found out that my pain resistance also rose to a level that even if a huge wound appeared in my body, I only could feel a slight pain, as if bitten by an ordinary ant only.

But of course, although that was the case, I still have to be careful. I might not die in pain, but due to blood loss.

Not because I couldn't feel the pain meant I was no longer a mortal. At the end of the day, I still needed to be careful.

Not being able to feel the pain could be both an advantage and a disadvantage for me.

Advantage; I still could fight even with damages because I can't feel the pain.

Disadvantage; I won't be able to tell if my body still could keep up with the blood loss until I'll just randomly fall unconscious.

There was a big chance of dying without me knowing.

Another good news, I obtained various skills from the beasts that I killed with my hand.

It turned out that I could only copy a skill as the system has said.

However, I only could copy a skill once.

If I kill two beasts but the skill they possess are the same, I could only copy the skill from one corpse and for the second one, that is no different from nothing, useless.

...

The sun once again came home from a far place and the whole world lightened.

The atmosphere was calm and the wind was warm. I hardly opened my eyes as I stood up.

I still needed to continue my travels.

I needed to go to the city as soon as possible.

I was planning to buy necessities there and of course, to also ask for information about various things.

Although the world seemed familiar, I still needed confirmation. Once I determined that they were the same, only then I could say I was safe.

...

Not long after, on my way towards the nearest city.

Bang*

Click*

Clang*

A noise of battle echoed around that picked my attention.

I don't want to get involved but I needed to do a walk for another two days if I changed my path.

What should I do then?

Should I turn back or rest here first or continue?

The first plan wasn't acceptable, I already walked so long and paid too much effort for me to reach this place to turn back like a pussy because of mere battle.

If I did detour~

I looked around and saw that if I want to have a detour, I'll have another waste of time and effort.

There was a forest that I could also choose as an option where I could walk without anyone noticing, however, with my current level; level five. I don't think it's a good idea.

The beasts hidden in the forest were way stronger and dangerous. I can't compare myself to them, so I don't want to risk my life.

For the second plan, it was a nice plan but I don't think the battle would end that fast, so, do I need to wait here? How many days do I need to wait though?

Then~

Should I check them then? Should I continue?

I shook my head in dismay, I don't think there was a better solution at this moment. Every choice has its own downside.

Anyway, I'll just check!

If the battle turns out intense, I have no other choice but to halt and stay here to avoid the battle, but if it turns out handy, then I'll just kill them all and continue my travel.

Sigh*

Having this last idea, I continued my pace with a bit of hesitancy.

After reaching the top of the hill that covered my view, only then the battle that was currently occurring appeared in my sight.

There were many soldiers in two different uniforms, holding different types of weapons and there also were those holding stuff whole chanting spells to attack.

Why the fuck has this battle even started!?

Why now?

Mmm?

As I was considering if I'll attack or not, my sight fell on a carriage that was parked at the center of the battle.

Note: Thanks for reading. Have a nice day.
