Chapter 19

Cedric saw continuous rows of burning houses mixed with the screams and crying of people.

There laid endlessly lifeless body on the beautiful stone paved roads. The once gentle sunny sky now seemed like that out of pugetory.

Except for screams for help he saw nothing. As he stood there absent mindedly in the middle of hell. A half burnt woman in tattered clothes came up him carry a chared baby carcass in her hands.

Cedric opened his eyes as sweat covered his entire face. After taking a look atbhis surroundings he saw that he laid on a mattress made off of leaves.

Moving his eyes he could white concrete walls. He had a vague feeling of where he was. Unsurprisingly a voice spoke to him.

"You have finally woken up, you slept for whole two days if you didn't wake up today i thought you might be in a comma."

Turning around he say Marcus looking at him. He was holding a large leaf carry some berries and fruits.

As Cedric tried to move his body a jolt of pain passed through him. Memories of the previous battle surfaced in him mind.

He had been bitten very badly in that fight. His arms were bruised and his legs were injured,he even injured his head as the cloated blood have him a itchy feeling in his head.

He looked at Marcus with absent eyes and didn't say anything. Seeing this Marcus felt a bit guilty. But he had buisness to take care so he took his.

Seeing Cedric not reacting to him leaving Marcus let out a sigh of relief. It was best for him to stay indoors and recuperate.

As Marcus left left Cedric's sight was again covered with darkness. Leaving Cedric to recover in his house Marcus once again ventured into the labyrinth.

This time he had come fully prepared to find the thing that had been resonating with him.

Which the last two powers gained he felt like he was unrivaled right now. Moreover with all the memory fragments combined he knew what he was looking for.

According to the memories there was only one basilisk left. The shadow crawler that had attacked him before.

Using his memories to track it's position he finally saw the nest in which it resided. Marcus was a bit nervous about the last time he was attacked by this breast he was barely able to escape with his life. more if his memory served him correct then this thing could detect objects and people through shadows and not vibrations.

The nest was covered with something which had the texture of skin, tearing away the layer away was the only way to enter. entering this place he did not see any signs of any lesser basilisks. rather in this endless darkness only the dim light from outside along with marcus shadow were cast.

before marcus cpould get the sight of the entire nest a razor sharp claw attacked him from back.
