Uneasy feelings XVII

I wake up to the sun shinning in the window blinding me I turn my head to get the sun out of my eyes as I sit up looking around barg and zul aren't here and Charlie is still sleeping,

All of a sudden I hear metal coming from outside loud banging coming from the door as a knight screams for us to open the door at this point I know they aren't happy with me, Charlie wakes up and goes over to the door

Charlie:"don't fight with them it will be better for you" I just nod as he opens the door

Knight:"you woman do you think it's funny to tell us lies for us to shut down the city and have every guard on duty for no reason!" He screams at me as I shake my head looking up at him

Whitney:"n..no not at all sir, I was certain they would come here next" I flinch slightly at how loud he is and how close he gets to my face

Knight:"you are coming with me! Take her to the dungeon and leave her their til I feel like letting her out!"

Charlie:"hold on man she was only trying to help the city and its people"

Knight:"shut it Charlie! Or you will join her in that cell!" He yells again Charlie looks at me with sadness in his eyes I give him a small smile trying to reassure him I'll be okay they drag me out of the tavern and shove me towards the dungeon they take my weapons, my belts and what little money I had the one guard shoves me hard as if I'm not walking fast enough I loose my footing and hit the ground letting my shoulder take most of the damage

Whitney:"can you fuck off im walking as fast as I can you prick!"

Knight 2:"get up you lying pig of a woman! You will walk as fast as I tell you to"

My hands are tied with rope in front of me as I try to push myself up but before I can fully get up two other knights grab the rope that binds my hands and start dragging me along the rocky dirt road I'm on my stomach I yell in protest but they just ignore me.

I can feel the rocks scraping across my clothing and skin, by the time they toss me into the cell my pants have rips in them and my legs are bleeding my shirt has a couple rips and my chest is scrapped and bleeding.

Knight 2:" take her clothing maybe freezing for a while will teach her a lesson!" They rip my pants and shirt off of me leaving me in my under garments my hands still tied up they put my back up against a wall and leave my hands tied up the cell door slams shut as I'm left sitting there naked covered in dirt and scraps and still tied up I try to get my hands free but can't break the rope. I look around the stone cell sighing to myself, I feel completely defeated they didn't attack and I still haven't found Benjamin "fuck come on I have to get out of here I DIDN'T LIE!" I scream as loud as I can it echos in the empty hall.

Zuls pov

Me and Barg had just went different ways it was getting late I walked around the city I was looking at all the people working together with other monsters maybe I was wrong for thinking she would be better off without me I notice a woman and a cyclops they are sitting together, his arm is around her and they are laughing together, I turn to head back to the tavern when I see people rushing into their homes as guards spread out through the city telling everyone to go inside and lock their doors

Knight:"get inside and stay there go!"

They shove me to the woman and the cyclops house they push me in to their home and shut the door behind me

Zul:"uh I'm sorry I was suppose to be staying at the tavern but uh I guess I can't"

Woman:"it's okay I wonder why they are shutting the city down so quickly?"

Zul:"me and my friends came from the north my friend Whitney her village was burnt to the ground no one was left no corpses nothing, on our way here there was a farm it was being burnt down we helped the family and came here we never seen whoever did it but the family hide in the barn luckily we got them out on time but we figured they'd be heading for here next Whitney warned the guards which is why they are putting everyone on lock down"

Cyclops:"damn that must have been hard for all of you let's hope they don't come here"

We all nod I sit down on a wooden chair as we all look out the windows seeing all the guards scattering around trying to prepare for the worst. I think of Whitney and how she is probably worried about us I look at the couple as they sit near the fireplace together cuddling with each other I can see me and her being like that maybe even in this city if it doesn't get destroyed tonight.

Bargs pov

I'm walking quickly away from Zul I head further out towards the edge of the city i feel the anger rising as I find a tree and punch it multiple times making my knuckles bleed and bruise I hear shouting as guards tell people to get inside and stay there they come and tell me to get into a house immediately and stay there for the night I get pushed into a home it's all but empty it looks lived in but I don't see anyone until the door flies open as a family comes in they stop in their tracks seeing me

Barge:"uh I'm sorry the guards pushed me in here I mean no harm to anyone I came here with two others a girl and another orc"

Husband:"oh you are one of the new comers we heard tell about the three of you sorry about the older man you guys are looking for I hope you can find him"

Barg:"I guess word travels fast around here"

Wife:"please make yourself comfortable, these are our kids Anna and jack hopefully they won't bug you to much"

Barg:"it's okay no worries and thank you"

We spend the night sitting and talking as well as watching the kids play I get lost in my thoughts, I can see Whitney standing in a nice home just like this a fire place lite with our own kids or even without kids as long as I have her I will be happy, I hope she's okay damn I should have stayed in the tavern waited for her to come back, she's probably worried I hope she got back in time.. my thoughts continue to through the night and eventually I fall asleep.
