Witnessing a Bullying in the Alley

(This isn't normal anymore. I don't remember anything that would make everyone fear me)

My shift ends at nine in the evening, so there's only remaining ten minutes before I head home. During this time, I tried to remember everything that I have done these past few months.

But I don't remember anything because I've never been close to anyone except for Augustine. And the only people I can think of that would hate me is my dumb family.

Then as I gaze into space, my boss knocked at the counter in which made me snapped. She laughed loudly when I hurriedly stood up and asked for her orders. I was dumbfounded and only realized what's wrong when I looked at her face.

"Oh, boss, it was you. What can I do for you?" I asked while looking a bit embarrassed.

"How deep are you thinking that you didn't even notice me? Nevermind that, go home. Your shift is done," she replied while laughing happily.

I hurriedly left the counter then went to the locker room. Because I was so embarrassed by what happened. After I finished changing, I talked to my boss for a bit then left.

On my way home, I saw a restaurant selling chicken wings for a small amount of money. Then I remembered that this is the favorite food of Augustine, so I bought two dozens chicken wings.

To reach our house, one would need to ride a bus then walk for at least ten minutes or less. After I bought the chicken wings, I immediately ran to the bus stop since its the last trip for the day.

While waiting, I almost fell asleep until a guy tried to snatch my bag and the wings. However, he failed since he didn't think that I'm still awake.

He ran, but I didn't bother to chase him since it would only be a waste of time.

And who in their right mind would chase someone when he wasn't able to snatch your stuff. Then I saw another who was able to protect his things but chased the snatcher.

(Well, that was stupid.)

The bus arrived thirty minutes after the situation happened. Hopefully, it only has a few passengers inside, and it will be easy for me to rest for a bit. I felt that there would be at least two kilometers interval in the station where the other passengers' destination is.

And that means there is plenty of time for me to rest. I can determine when I will reach my stop, so I didn't worry about oversleeping at all. The bus traveled in about an hour before I reach my destination.

However, when I woke up. I overslept and missed my stop. But it's alright since there is a way here where I can head to my house but the walking time will increase by five minutes. But there is an alley that I need to pass through before reaching my destination.

But because this is the shortest way since I missed my stop, there is no other choice but to cope up with it. Gladly, the streets are quiet since it's already late, but when I reached the alley, there was someone who was being bullied by a group of people.

So I immediately hid because I dont want to meddle with their business. However, when I heard someone crying for help, it made me feel that I needed to do something.

(There's only three of them. I can possibly fight it through)

When I decided to step in, I saw someone stepped in first before I do. So I just decided to leave and just mind my own business. But before I was able to continue my way, the one who tried to help was not able to defend both of them.

(That guy only made it worse. I need to interfere now)

After I decided to interfere, the only thing that flows into my mind is that I need to save them both. And before I run to enter the alley, I kept a safe distance and yelled.

"Hey, three idiots. What are the three of you doing with those two?" I yelled and prepared myself for a fight.

"Hey, punk, Mind your own business. Or you'll regret trying to act like a hero," one of them replied irritably.

"What? Did you say the three of you are scared?" I responded while mocking the three.

One of them snapped and attacked me. But he doesn't know how to fight well. All I did was a simple kick in the thigh, and he is down. I can't believe it since I'm the type of person who doesn't want to be involved in affairs I'm not a part of.

But seeing how I can easily defend myself against these three is something I can be proud of. The remaining two tried to assault me at the same time, but not one of the two remembered that we are fighting in an alley.

So there is not enough space enough for a team fight. Both bumped into each other and fell. When I looked at their outfit, it seems that they are students in a school near to ours.

(Maybe they live near here, or just some random weirdos trying to attack anyone passing through here)

When I fetched my things and was about to head home, the one who tried to help and the one being bullied thanked me.

I just nodded, then told them to leave because the three idiots might assault them again. It was exhausting, but because I was able to rest for a small amount of time on the bus. I still have the energy for a short jog later.

(I'll jog later after I rest for a bit since I need to be fit because of my work)

Walking for about ten minutes, finally, I arrived at my destination, which is our house. As I enter the gates of the house, I called Augustine, but he isn't responding. And when I enter the house, it seems to me that he still hasn't returned yet.

But he didn't tell me that he'll be late, but since he's still not here. I just rest for a bit, then head out again for a short jog around the block. The neighborhood was quiet since it's already past eleven in the evening, so it is easy for me to run because I'm not embarrassed anymore.

After five laps around the neighborhood, I went to a nearby park to rest for a bit. When I arrived, there's a bench near the water fountain, so I went there and sat.

With nothing to do, I just stared at the night sky and admired its beauty. I tried to remember the face of the girl I dreamt of, but I failed. The neighborhood feels so peaceful without any noises surrounding it.

(If only the house of demons was this peaceful at night, I would gladly cope up with it. But even at night, their loud voices enter my room)

The feeling of the cold breeze is soothing in the body. And the visual look of the moon feels so aesthetic in which it made me want to sleep here. Then I decided to lie on the bench while gazing upon the stars and moon.

Admiring their beauty along with the sound that the wind created calms my heart. This is the kind of environment I want to live in for the rest of my life.

As I lie down on the bench, I thought again about the current situation that is happening to me. Many questions came to mind, without answers to satisfy my curiosity.

I tried to reminisce everything I have done, but I still arrive at a dead end.

(What's wrong with my life? All I ever did was to live like an ordinary kid, but why do things like this happen?)

Tears slowly filled my eyes, but the moon erased all the sadness I felt in my heart. It's as if the moon is comforting me and telling me that everything will be alright.

Because of that, I wiped all of my tears and held my chin up high. And promised myself that starting from now, there will be nobody who can make me tear again.

When I looked at my phone, I was surprised to see that the time was already twelve 'o clock at midnight. So I hurriedly ran home because Augustine might be worried that I'm still not home.

After I arrived outside of the house, I saw the gate wide open and also the door inside. It left me in a panic, so I immediately ran inside and checked if it was someone who entered the house.

When I checked inside, it relieved me when I saw that it was only Augustine who is lying on the floor drunk. Honestly, I wanted to smack this guy in the face for leaving the door open.

I tried to wake him up, but he was already sleeping so deeply that I had to carry him to his room. He may look like a stick in person, but to hell with his weight. With all my might, I was able to bring him to his room and left him in his bed.

As I leave the room, I head downstairs and close all the windows. And also the door plus the gate. But when I head out to close the gate, I saw someone staring at me behind a red car near the house at about three hundred meters away from here.
