Chapter 86 - Dyaus Pita

---The next morning---

On the bed,

As the sun shines in the east, Lev wakes up first with satisfaction as he recalls what happened last night. He then just breathed softly before looking at Sia and Shio who were still sleeping on the bed. He looked at their peaceful faces which made him smile before caressing their heads and then he got up heading out of the room to see the situation outside.

Lev first put on some decent clothes before getting out of the building to check the place but right after he got some distance from where they were staying, a sudden ball of lighting came right toward him which his Observation Haki immediately activated as he summons Infinities and transformed them into a shield.

Despite blocking the attack, Lev still flew backward before finally making a stand. He looked at his hands which were shaking from the impact which made him frown. He then adjusted himself as he looked where it came from and saw an Aragami with a black body and a peculiar human face with a cruel expression staring at him from the distance.

'D-Dyaus Pita. How come it was here? I thought this Aragami would only appear later on.' Lev thought while frowning as he knew the Aragami that just attacked him very well since it was the small boss of the story. However, its presence wasn't the thing that he worried about very much but the power it had instead as he thought his level was already quite enough to face it now but it looked like it was not.

Lev looked seriously at Dyaus Pita before looking back to see the building they were staying in first. He was worried that it would come to this place and would target Sia and Shio instead. Deciding to take its attention, he then started running while thinking, "I need to get some distance."

Seeing Lev running, Dyaus Pita wouldn't let its prey get away as it rushed forward and started pursuing him.

'Good.' Lev thought but he still didn't stop as he continued to run before finally stopping at a place with numerous ruined buildings and damaged cars. He was actually not just running away but also wanted to fight it as he was wondering how his strength compared to that monster.

After stopping at a good location, Lev then turned around and moved his hand to the location of the Dyaus Pita. He thought that it was now time to retaliate and counterattack as the thought of fighting such a strong monster excited him.

"Bansho Ten'in." Lev immediately used a skill, but he was actually not having much expectation of it and only trying to pull it off. Just like he thought, Dyaus Pita stopped coming forward as it resisted the attracting force that was pulling it.

"Heh. So that wasn't enough huh." Lev said with a smile before transforming his two Infinity into a machine gun and starting firing toward it while running around the Dyaus Pita by moving like a snake trying to take advantage of the terrain.

Despite being attacked, Dyaus Pita, on the other hand, just smiled at Lev and just let him attack as it didn't even leave any scratches on its skin. It growled angrily before pursuing Lev with its face wanting to devour him cruelly.

'A boss indeed.' Lev followed upon seeing that his attacks were futile. He then just put Infinities back into his inventory and started concentrating power on his right hand while moving forward to get close enough to unleash it.

Lev continues concentrating power while running even faster. He also showcases his mastery of Observation Haki by evading its attack as Dyaus Pita continuously fires some lighting balls and moves every time he gets close, but it doesn't take long before he sees an opportunity.

"Bansho Ten'in." Suddenly, Lev throws a pebble before using the same skill once again but this time his target wasn't Dyaus Pita but the ruined building and damaged cars on its back.

Following that, the target objects as if being possessed immediately were pulled out and rushed towards Lev, however, just like what he was planning, it didn't get through as it crashed into Dyaus Pita.

"50 Ren Kugi Punch." Seeing this, Lev teleported beside the pebble that he threw and appeared right in front of Dyaus Pita with his hands already turned black after using Armament Haki as he decided to go all out to see whether it would survive such power.

Meanwhile, Dyaus Pita, who suddenly felt threatened coming from Lev revealed its wing-like limbs before unleashing a devastating amount of energy at the same time.

Lev, who saw this, could only stop his attack as he summoned Infinities again into a shield to block the incoming energy. He was caught off guard as he flew back and crashed toward a building all the while being tormented by the backlash of the Ren Kugi Punch.

....Boom...

Lev, after being crashed, immediately held his right arm after the backlash started happening. Though he stopped the attack midway, the concentrated power still remained in his arm and he felt his arm breaking. He could only bite his lips from the pain as he looked at Dyaus Pita hoping his Regeneration Skill to heal it fast.

"H-How could I forget that." Lev muttered as he remembered that Dyaus Pita had such a trump card every time it was threatened however, such a thing only made him smile after thinking that it was acknowledging that his attack was powerful enough to make it use it.

Lev looked at the Dyaus Pita and thought that his level was still not enough to kill it, but it didn't mean that he would lose as he was confident that it also could not kill him. Though he still had another trump card in his arsenal, he still thought that it was still also not enough.

"Hey, you!! Let's continue this some other time." Lev shamelessly shouted as he knew that Dyaus Pita was an intelligent Aragami, unlike the others. Making a truce now is the best for the two of them as only mutual destruction will only result if they won't stop.

Meanwhile, Dyaus Pita looked at Lev seriously. It still recalled the feeling of being threatened and thought that it could not take him easily. It understood Lev's intention and was now about to head back when suddenly it heard something. It turns its gaze toward a certain location before an evil smile appears on its face.

Lev, on the other hand, widened his eyes after seeing Sia and Shio from the distance. He could not help but curse inside while gritting his teeth as he was still suffering from the backlash seeing his arms shaking from time to time. He knew that the two of them were as good as dead if they were being targeted by the Dyaus Pita

Dyaus Pita did not even look at Lev upon seeing the new prey from the distance as it immediately rushed toward Sia and Shio.

"Fuck!!" Lev shouted as he looked in horror before following Dyaus Pita from behind at full speed.

Sia and Shio who were in the distance suddenly got nervous after seeing this situation. They were actually woken up from the sudden disturbance and yet this was what was presented to them.

With the incoming threat, Sia and Shio immediately grabbed their weapon to defend themselves. They thought they could handle it, however, as Dyaus Pita was getting nearer, even Sia started shaking from fear after seeing how big and scary it was while Shio was standing on her ground without any expressions, but her legs were doing the same.

Seeing them cower in fear, Dyaus Pita smiled evilly as it then spread its wings ready to attack when suddenly...

"Roar Zabimaru!" Lev shouted with both hands holding two Zamibaru's. Looking closely the weapon seems different from before since they were coated with Armament Haki this time. Stretching for how many meters, he caught up and grabbed its two limbs before using all his strength to pull them back.

Dyaus Pita growled thinking that it was already halfway of eating its prey. It tried to struggle but Zabimaru's pick-like protrusions completely dug in his limbs and so could only stop before being forcefully pulled back.

"Sia!! Move and take Shio away from here!!" Lev immediately shouted before summoning out Infinity and kicking it toward Dyaus Pita. Following that, he pulled Dyaus Pita again before leaving Zabimaru and rushed forward while concentrating yet another power on his two hands trying to attack again after seeing it immobilize and struggling.

"20 Twin Ren Kugi Pu---" Lev wanted to attack the amount of concentrated power on his hands, however, before he could finish again, Dyaus Pita roared loudly again, and the same thing happened to defend itself.

However, Lev didn't flinch this time as he already expecting it. He summoned the other Infinity and transformed it into a shield before using Dyaus Pita's power to propel himself toward Sia and Shio.

Following that, Dyaus Pita then was released from the bindings while furiously looking at Lev before it roared loudly and took its leave.

Seeing the Dyaus Pita leaving, Lev sighed deeply and breathed hard before turning to look at Sia at Shio. Despite the aching on his arms, he still remained as normal as he could while looking at the two of them as he did not want them to see him in pain.

"M-Master, w-what was that Aragami?" Sia shakingly asked after remembering its power earlier. It was her first time seeing such an Aragami with the power capable of destroying anything from its surroundings.

"That's Dyaus Pita." Lev answered before hugging her to calm her down from which Sia hugged him back tightly. It was also the same with Shio, she embraced Lev tightly as it was the first time she felt that scared.

"That's a scared me. Arrghh" Lev grunted while looking at his arms. The backlash was already done but the pain was still present as if his every muscle and bone were being crushed inside. However, through his Regeneration skill, it would only take time for them to heal but the process was just quite painful.

"M-Master, are you okay?" Sia immediately asked upon noticing Lev's right hand. She could not help but worry seeing it as if it was being burned or something.

"Hahahaha. I-I think I push myself a little harder this time." Lev jokingly said while caressing Sia's head before he looked at the surroundings. Without further ado, he then told them that it was now time to choose another place to live thinking that Dyaus Pita might come again next time.

With that, Lev then told them to head back to get the things that could still be used before leaving the place to find another location which Sia and Shio completely supported and took the initiative to do all the work letting him heal and rest.

---Three weeks later---

In the wasteland,

It has been three weeks since Lev and the others found another place to stay and it's already been three weeks since Lev fought against the Dyaus Pita but even after that period of time, they fortunately didn't encounter it again.

"Sia, finish it." Lev's voice echoed seeing him from afar looking at Sia fighting against five crocodile-like Aragamis in the ground.

Upon hearing this, Sia then rushed against the nearest Aragami before killing it in one thrust of her spear and finished the others within a minute before taking out the cores on their bodies can collect some useful parts on its body.

"I think it's now time to get back." Lev said with a smile after seeing the improvements in Sia during the past weeks as he continued to guide her and constantly give her nutrients every night to make her body stronger and sturdier.

"We are returning back?!" Shio excitedly asked upon hearing Lev as no one knew how she missed Sakuya and the others back at the headquarters.

"Yeah, we could now head back tomorrow." Lev replied and was already decided upon seeing the expression of Shio who couldn't wait to leave this place. He himself was also eager to head since he was also done with his training and the fact that there were people who were waiting for him back in the base.

Following that, Lev, Sia, and Shio then stayed there for a while before heading back to the place they stayed in for three weeks and enjoyed the rest of the day doing some stuff. Upon settling and preparing everything, the group then finally left the place.

In the wasteland,

Meanwhile, in an abandoned city where the only sounds that could be heard were gunshots and growling, several people could be seen being surrounded by many Vajras. Some of them were already injured badly and some already lost hope as they were kneeling on the ground while shakingly holding their God Arcs.

"Did they receive our message!?" One of the God Eaters shouted and could be said to be the leader of the group. They didn't know what was happening that their situation suddenly came to this point and their only hope now was to call the headquarters and ask for reinforcements.

"I-I don't know as we just lost signal to the headquarters." One of the God Eaters replied with his tears falling down. He was the one calling for back up but seeing the signal had been lost all his hope crumbled as he knew that they wouldn't survive this time.

'How did we even come to this?' The leader thought while gritting his teeth. They were just peacefully hunting some small-type Aragamis helping the new recruits when suddenly these Vajras appeared out of nowhere and took several lives of their companions.

"Everyone, use every ounce of your strength and hope that we can leave here alive!" The leader shouted wanting to revive the morale of his people despite knowing that it would only take time before they die in this place.

Far East Branch Headquarters,

Inside the operating room, Tsubaki could be seen looking at the monitor with her fist clenching while frowning. She could see the dire state of the people in the monitor despite only red dots could be seen.

"W-We lost signal to them." Hibari reported with sorry as she couldn't hear them anymore through her communication device. She looked at her monitor as she gritted her teeth thinking that many lives would be taken again this time.

"Call Captain Amamiya and the rest of the members of the 1st unit." Tsubaki immediately said as the situation became serious seeing the dots on the screen continue decreasing.

"M-Major Amamiya, they were all on a mission." Hibari replied. She tried looking at the mission log and it was not just the 1st unit as there really are no available God Eaters in the headquarters right now aside from the people assigned to guard the place.

Hearing this, Tsubaki punched the table with her fist while looking at the monitor.

---The next day---

On the vehicle,

Meanwhile, in the seemingly quiet wasteland, Sakuya could be found driving the 1st unit vehicle while Kota, Lenka, and Alisa were seriously sitting in the back. They have been given an important mission and so everyone felt quite nervous.

"Can you still not contact them?" Sakuya suddenly asked while looking at Lenka who had a device with him. She also knew how heavy their mission was this time since they were not talking about superficial things but human lives instead.

"I still can't." Lenka replied and could only look at the tablet. They have been given a rescue mission this time and looking at the dots on the screen is the only thing that tells them that the people they need to rescue are still alive.

Sakuya then sped up the vehicle hoping that they could arrive on time. They could only come for them right now as they were actually on a mission yesterday. They didn't even finish it and were ordered to abandon the mission for a rescue mission, however, as the wasteland was too dangerous, they could only drive with carefulness.

In the wasteland,

On the other hand, while driving the motorbike in peace, Lev looked at the dark sky and it would probably rain soon. He looked at Shio in front of him and thought to stop at the next abandoned place to rest and also to eat.

"We better find a place to stay for a while." Lev said before accelerating from which a faint smile appeared on his face as he looked at the side mirror and saw several Aragami following them.

Inside the building,

Not before long, Lev and the others already find themselves in a building in some abandoned city good enough to pass the time while waiting for the rain to stop. It was quite a day for them since they have done nothing else but travel since yesterday.

With a bed given by Lev, Sia, and Shio were looking at the tablet while eating some chips as they were watching a movie without worrying about the Aragamis moving around since they were pretty safe from the building they had chosen.

Lev, on the other hand, could be seen looking outside near a widow as he could hear something from the distance but he couldn't tell what it was because of the rain, however, one thing is clear and that is, they were not alone.

Inside the Abandoned City,

Somewhere in the abandoned city, two people could be seen running seeing one of them helping the other who had several wounds on his body. Seeing from their expression, it is safe to say that they had just experienced something horrible.

Meanwhile, as the two kept on running, several Aragamis were also following them behind waiting for them to get tired and exhausted before finally devouring.

The two people gritted their teeth as they ran with their tired bodies, however, it did not take long before the injured person couldn't hold on anymore as he fell to the ground while breathing heavily.

"Tatsumi, stand up. Reinforcements might be coming here soon. We just need to hold on." The other person said while helping the injured person to stand up. They used everything they could and have come this far, she wouldn't let any more acquaintances of hers get killed.

"K-Kanon, d-don't mind me and continue running. I will only become a dead weight if I follow you. Save your life." Tatsumi tiredly replied while looking at the person wearing a tattered dark green Fenrir formal uniform, black knit cap, black mini shorts, black thigh highs, and green laced boots.

Kanon heard what Tatsumi said but she didn't buy it as she held his arms helping him out, but the Aragamis were already near them and were ready to devour both of them. Tatsumi, seeing such a scene, then used all his remaining strength and pushed Kanon.

Kanon who was pushed out fell on the ground, she then adjusted herself and looked back just to see Tatsumi looking at her with his eyes tearing while being killed by the Aragamis.

"K-Kanon, go!!" Tatsumi said for the last time before dying.

Seeing Tatsumi being eaten by the Aragami, Kanon then immediately stood up to continue running but she couldn't properly see the way as her eyes were filled with tears added to the heavy rain which she didn't take many steps before she fell again to the ground.

Kanon turned around and saw several Aragamis already coming at her. She could only accept her end as she closed her eyes while clenching her fist ready to be devoured when suddenly she heard something.

.... Bang...Bang…Bang….

Several loud gunshots could be heard in the surroundings and Kanon immediately opened her eyes just to see the Aragamis that surrounded her getting killed one by one.

In a building in the area,

Inside a particular building, Lev could be seen lying on the floor with Infinity in its Sniper Form with its Piercing Bullets bought from the system store firing towards the Aragamis in the distance.

'What kind of situation is this.' Lev looked through his scope and thought about the situation at hand. Upon not seeing more Aragami around, he then recalled Sniper Infinity and prepared to rescue. He then said to Sia and Shio, "I'll be back in a while."
