That Confirms It

I wanted to shift the conversation away from me so I looked around to find something else to talk about.

I noticed Argo staring off into space. I knew that in this part of the story, he didn't socialize much and mostly hung around us because his childhood friend Gerona wanted him to, but something felt odd he appeared to be thinking about something.

"Your Highness, did something happen? What got you so zoned out?" I said casually.

He turned to face me and said "This might sound weird but, I feel like something bad will soon happen" 

'Oh right he did say something like this in the novel, I had the intention of giving him some kind of power to see the future but I ultimately decided against it later, because it would be too strong. I wonder, did the universe fill in the blanks that I left out? I mean there has to be a reason for everything.'

"Why do you say that?" asked Clara.

"I don't know, it's just a gut feeling"

"Anyways, I'm tired I think I'll go to bed. See ya guys tomorrow" I said as I left the cafeteria.

Today is the day.

Me, Alice, Argo, Clara, Izumi, and Gerona decided to go have some fun in the City today. I know for a fact that today will be no day for fun and games. While yes, monster nests are the weakest form of a dungeon, they are still dangerous. I shouldn't let my guard down.

[Main Quest - Monster Nest at City Center !

Of course, I got something like this today.

We left the academy premises somewhere around 3:00 PM. 

During the boat ride to the Radian City Centre, all I could think about was The Burning Abyss and the possibility of them being able to create dungeons.

"..." 

"Alex" Called Alice.

"..."

"Alex Is everything okay?" She waved into my face to get my attention since I wasn't responding.

"Ah... Yeah, everything is okay..." I only now responded. In my defense I'm still not used to being called Alex, I guess my brain is just hardwired to respond to the name Jacob.

"You looked like you were worried about something."

"You are right there, I was worried about what Argo mentioned yesterday..." Technically this is not a lie.

Argo looked at me when I said his name, I couldn't determine what his gaze meant.

The mood on the boat slightly worsened.

Izumi who was just enjoying the ride up until this point joined the conversation "Guys chill, nothing is going to happen. Let's Just enjoy ourselves in the City, and let loose a little. We deserve it after all that training we've been doing"

"Izumi is right, right Gerona" Clara added.

"I guess he is" said Gerona nonchalantly 

We reached the land portion of the city.

I heard a voice coming from the back from the way we came with the boat.

"Alex, Izumi, Clara, Gerona, why wasn't I invited, It's so sad knowing that the entire Student Council is hanging out and that they didn't invite me... The Student Council President" Said Catherine while waving with one hand and pretending to wipe fake tears on her clearly smiling face 

We waited for her boat to also land.

"My dead friend, did you tail us?" I said

"Of course, I did Mr. Protagonist, I wouldn't have had to tail you if you just invited me. I mean you said we're friends right?"

'I didn't want to involve more people in this mess, god dammit. I can't even blame her for this since it is probably a butterfly effect that caused this, meaning I am the one to blame.'

"Yes, we're friends, Anyway Catherine you already know Izumi, Clara, and Gerona because they are in the Student Council with us. I am sure you know Argo, both of you are royalty so you should know each other-" I was Interrupted

Alice bowed and said "It's a pleasure to meet you, Your Highness Catherine Rosaria"

"You must be Alice the number one on the academy leaderboards, It's a pleasure to meet you too." Said Catherine formally

"Where should we go first," Argo said while looking around.

"I heard that a new fancy restaurant opened somewhere around the City Central, I've been meaning to go there so this is the perfect chance," Said Gerona

"That sounds good" 

We agreed on the restaurant Gerona mentioned. When we got there we saw Layla Coddel dressed in her priest robe sipping her coffee and enjoying her meal.

I don't want to get involved with this person, while she is a bishop candidate of The Order Church, She is still a person I'd like to not get involved with. Honestly, she scares me a little, I wrote that she has a short temper when it comes to religious things and also she's a sadist.

I didn't know she would be here, I'm sure she would be able to escape when the monster nest appears since this event should be untouched and she didn't even make her appearance in the first arc.

After we sat down and ordered, I got a few strange looks from the gang.

"What's wrong Mr. Protagonist why didn't you order any alcohol," Said Catherine worryingly, one might think that she was genuinely worried for me if they didn't look at her grinning face

'I want to drink something but I shouldn't since shit is about to go haywire'

"Guys just because I drink every day doesn't mean I'm an alcoholic" 

"Bro's in denial." said Izumi

We finished eating, as we were leaving there was a huge mana fluctuation spike coming from the outside.

I looked in that direction, It appeared, the monster nest appeared in the exact location where the Burning Abyss member threw that suspicious stone in the air.

'That confirms It, They can create dungeons'
