Chapter 05

She was lost, in this jungle. There was no way out. It was dark everywhere as the sun has set about an hour ago. She wanted to reach somewhere, anywhere, as soon as she can. Everything here was too creepy. Off course, what else would you expect from a dark, scary jungle.

She was afraid. She heard voices. Voices, not of normal insects but weird voices. Voices of someone's wispering. They were loud enough to be heard but too fast to know what was being spoken. She was already sweating in this cold temperature. She didn't knew whether the chills running in her spine were because of cold or fear?

After what seemed like eternity she located an old house, more like a mansion, somewhere in the jungle. She thought maybe someone living there could help her reach the main road. As she neared the mansion, she felt her decision of coming here was more worse than deciding to follow the firefly in the jungle. The house looked more like a haunted house. There was nothing that could depict the presence of even a single human being.

Yet, she decided to take a chance, maybe she could find a shelter to spend the night. The door to mansion creaked open, the handle was rusted, the glass window beside door was already broken. After entering the mansion, she realized the interiors of the mansion wese worse than the exteriors. It was pitch dark but after adjusting to the moonlight she could say there are spider webs in every nook and corner of the house. Furniture were in really a bad shape as if someone faught a third world war before leaving this place.

Her heart was pounding at a rate she thought was nearly impossible for any normal human. She craned her neck upward, afraid of encountering anything dangerous, after hearing someone laugh evilly. But what she saw there was enough to take her breath away. It was more dangerous than any danger in her life currently. There he was, her NIGHTMARE, smirking at her. As if mocking her. After all she entered his den without even him trying anything. And the next moment he threw a dagger in her direction and her breath hitched.

She woke up gasping for air, again, like every other day now.

"He moked her because she entered his den without him even trying anything funny. May be she was too naive but who can deny the fact that may be he was the cunning one present in the room and may be it all happened just because he wanted it to happen?"

Elena's POV

I entered the Malhotra Mansion and was directly escorted to study by one of the maid. Gaurav sir was waiting for me to tell me everything I needed to know about Aarav like his school time table, his favourite sports etcetera etcetera. After getting all the important information, I headed towards Aarav's room.

Okay so I've to wake him up first and then help him get ready for school. After that I should take him towards the dining area and make him eat some healthy breakfast and then go with driver to drop him to the school and then come back to clean his room, arrange all his things and make him lunch. After that I've to go and pick him up. After lunch he'll take some rest then I'll give him a piano class and then homework.

I was too busy in memorizing the list of tasks handed by Gaurav sir that I didn't realized when I entered Aarav's room, he was already up. Umm I mean.. Yeah he was actually up in the air. Come on! This isn't any vamp serial. So no, he wasn't flying or something but he was sitting on someone's shoulder and enjoying the ride. I couldn't see that man properly but what was he doing in Aarav's room?? Gaurav sir clearly told me I should not let Aarav be with any stranger, he can be harmful. So I immediately went towards them, taking Aarav from his hold without sparing him even a single glance. I hugged Aarav and asked him if he was fine? Aarav was confused but nonetheless noded at me.

I couldn't see him clearly but from the corner of my eyes I can say he has amused expressions on his face but then they changed into frown. Why? Is that because of the way I took Aarav away from his hold? Yeah it can be that because I don't even know him to hold a grudge or something against me. It was simply a part of my job. I was standing sideways infront of him so I think he didn't saw me as well because of my hair that were spread on my shoulder covering my face.

Still observing Aarav, I directed my words towards Mr. Stranger, "I don't care whoever you are but Gaurav sir clearly told me not to let Aarav with any stranger. So Mr. Whoever you are I would suggest you to leav.." However I stopped in mid sentence because when I turned towards him, I was shocked. Same eyes, same lips, same brows and that damned same face! How is that even possible???

No! He can't be... My face paled and I just dashed out of the room along with Aarav. Come on! He was dangerous. And I bet no one else can tell this better than me as he had made my life a living hell since past few weeks. So I just could not let Aarav be with him all alone.

I was scared and sweating by the time I reached study. Urghhh! Why do have to live in such a big mansion?? I entered study where Gaurav sir was still busy in checking some files. He immediately stood up looking at my devasted state and approached me. "What the hell happened? Is Aarav alright? Are you alright?" He bombarded me with questions and at the same time, took Aarav from my arms and checking him everywhere for any possible injury.

I couldn't answer him as I was in shock plus breathless due to the marathon I just ran to save myself and Aarav from that monster. He sighed in relief finding him in a perfect condition. Seeing me breathless, he offered me to sit and offered the glass of water kept there on the table.

I bet he was curious but gave me some space to gather myself. That man is too dangerous, I should tell about that man to Gaurav sir, he can harm Aarav too. I'm sure Gaurav sir won't let him stay here after knowing what he's capable of.

But.. Even I don't know what he is capable of. I mean, I happen to see him in my nightmares.. No scratch that! He IS my nightmare but what if he isn't like that in reality? What if it's just my imagination? But I can't do anything, I can't just take the risk, I've to tell Gaurav sir. I'm sure he'll help me out of this situation.

While I was busy gathering my thoughts, Gaurav sir happened to ask the same question from Aarav. "I don't know dad, Elena di just came while we were playing and took me away from Chachu. After that she just came running here". And what he answer left me baffled.

Chachu?? That man is his uncle? And that means he live over here only? I was more than scared now. I, for a matter of fact knew that he can make my whole life upside down.

"Chachu?" I repeated the same question for Gaurav sir to clear everything for me.

"Yes, Chachu!"

However the one who answered me was the reason for my sleep deprived nights and horrible nightmares. Albeit, his voice send shivers down my spine.
