"Haaaa, you fucking dick heads!" I said, walking out of the water onto the beach next to the cliff, "What the hell is wrong with you!"
"Haha, sorry Saito, i just couldn't help myself, ya'know?" Yasuo said, coming up behind me, apologizing while wiping away his hair in his face.
"You better be, you know i'm scared of heights! I mean seriously, why would you do that?!" I said, spreading my arms and shaking them in front of him to express my discomfort.
"I know, i know, i just thought that if i did that you'd get rid of your fear and e more open to things like this, right?" Yasuo questioned, putting on an apologetic face and tilting his head.
"...Whatever, i'm going back up to give a piece of my mind to the others, i'll talk to you again after that, i need to calm myself down a bit," I said, walking back up to the cliff.

"My Lord!" Victor yelled, snapping me out of my day dream, "Are you alright?"
"Ahem, yes my apologies," I cleared my throat, then looked down towards the ground to try and see where were, "This the spot right?"
"Yup, all we need to do now is fly closer and light their base on fire," Conlaed interjected, pointing over towards the inter section of Fort Invictus, the biggest and strongest fort in the Peril Kingdom.
"Alright, you heard him right, Arwan?" I asked, and he nodded in response then flew closer, "Now! Try to use your breath for as long as possible, we want the most damage as possible, that way the archers can get more damage done."
"Hm, i don't have much saved from the last battle, but i'll give it my all!" Arwan replied with vigor, i could tell he was trying to not be a disappointment, but he was hardy that at all
After Arwan finished saying that, he unhinged his jaw from both sides and started to summon his fiery breath from deep inside his throat. Craning his neck down towards the fortress below us, i could feel a hot feeling rising from his neck through the scales i was holding.
Arwan then began to unleash his fiery breath upon our enemies below us, lighting the middle of their base on fire. And if i'm being honest, once he used that breath of his, it started to smell like charred chicken. I guess someone had a good breakfast…
"Ugh, it smells like burned poultry!" I could hear Victor complain from behind me, pinching his nose as of to not smell the stench of Arwans breakfast.
"Pfft-" Conlaed started to laugh but he got swatted by Arwan using his tail, "Hey! You didn't have to smack me!"
Arwan had used the last of his breath and looked back to glare at Conlaed, who flinched, then he turned his head back with a "Hmph," Before looking at me for my next orders.
"Alright, fall back, leave the rest to the archers, for now drop us off in front of their gates," I commanded, telling the others my next plan of action.
Arwan then turned back round and flew towards the gates to sort of circle it, and i could here Conlaed say something from the back, "looks like your theory was correct Lit. Colonel."
"Good. Arwan, put up a barrier in case any arrows end up in our direction. Victor, once the first volley of arrows is through, i want you to create a giant sword of ice and throw it in the direction of their commander, do you think you can do that?" I ordered but also asked, not knowing the range of his current abilities.
"Consider it done, My Lord," He said, unsheathing his sword and bringing it to his side, making sure to point it away from Arwan, to make sure it wouldn't hurt him, though Arwans scales were so tough i doubt he had to worry.
A moment later the archers sent their first volley of arrows, breaking the magic barrier that Perils mages put up. Once it was clear, Victor raised his sword in the air and a giant greatsword made of Ice was materialised, then he swung his sword down, and so did the ice greatsword.
I heard a giant crash underneath us but chose to ignore it, "Victor, sheth your sword, Arwan, drop us in front of the gate to the fortress, we'll break it down for the others," I ordered, letting go of Arwans scales and taking Victors arm off of me.
"Understood, should i land of let you guys jump off?" He asked, wanting to make sure he understood my command correctly.
"Do not land, i want you to get at the very least, 20 feet above ground, no need to worry about was, we'll be fine," I reassured him, not wanting him to object to the distance.
"Uh! Speak for yourselves! I could twist my ankles from that height!" Conlaed yelled over in a worried tone, reminding me that he was still back there.
"Well then, shall i princess carry you down there?" I jested, giving him a condescending smile, but he surprisingly nodded his head, "Pfft- alright, then get your little toosh over here, Princess Conlaed~"
"You!...Haaa, give me a moment," He started to protest in annoyance at the nickname, but then sighed in defeat, perhaps at the glare both Victor and Arwan was giving him.
Conlaed stood up and walked over to my side, apologizing to Arwan if it bothered him in some way. Once we were at about 20 feet above ground, Victor and i stood up, and i wooshed Conlaed off his feet before jumping off Arwans back unannounced, Conlaed screaming in alarm and Victor following behind.
There was a giant thud where i landed and a little shake from the ground below me, but my divine power healed any fracture i may have gotten before i even noticed, and Victor made a smooth ice pathway down for himself.
"Are you good?" Conlaed asked as i put him down, he was making sure his gauntlets were still tight enough and in place.
"Yup, no pain anywhere, and most definitely no fractures!" I reassured him, patting him on the back before bringing out my scythe and giving out an order, "Victor i want to to freeze the door, then Conlaed and i will break it with our fire, it will take too long of a wait if we just light it on fire."
"Alright, then please stand back, I want to make sure I don't hit you, My Lord," He said, unsheathing his saber for the second time, and completely dismissing Conlaed who looked at Victor with an open mouth.
Conlaed was going to shout something at him before Victor surrounded his sword in his aura and the aura of his element, then Victor swung his sword down with all his might. Causing a giant arc of aura to come from the thin blade of saber and make a giant mark on the door before freezing it.
Then Conlaed surrounded himself in his flames, they were a orangish yellow color, much like his hair, which also turned into flames. And if i had to be honest, he looked really fucking sick.
"Looking cool dude," I complimented him before calling upon the fire divine power i collected and putting it on my scythe, bu also surrounding my hands, like how Conlaed had done with his, but i was sure it was just part of his elemental form.
"Excuse me, how about you look in a mirror before complementing me, those green flames of yours are fucking sick! How'd you get them so green?!" Conlaed complemented me but i a bit of a complaining tone, but i could tell he was trying to make it sound nice.
"Sorry, but that parts a secret," I said putting a finger up to my mouth with a smile, not wanting to tell him it was a divine power. Before i allowed him to ask any questions i ran sprinted forward, my scythe over my shoulder.
Conlaed just scoffed and ran after me, with Victor staying where he was, his sword in an "An Garde" position. When the two of us reached the door we both swung our fist and weapon towards it, hitting it and our flames racing along the ice, making the door explode into tiny chunks of ice.
I could hear our allies' roaring cheers behind us, before leaning my scythe on my shoulders and deactivating my flames, Conlaed did the same and Victor ran over to us. Just as we were about to be teleported by Arwan back to the back of the formation, i saw two horned and tailed figures.
At that moment i had one thought only, it was a sort of warning from the back of my memories, the one thing from the novel i didn't remember because of how boring and over kill o thought it made the plot of this arc of the story.
'Dragon Born…'
***
Seeing the trio of his four strongest allies in front of him disappear from his vision Frederick gave his first official command of the battle, "Charge!!" He shouted loud enough for the entire army to hear.
The knights behind him gave out a giant battle cry, that shook the entire fortress in front of them, telling their enemies that were already aware of their presence that they had arrived.
Once the vice-captain of the allied forces reached the gates in front of him, he was greeted by the same figures his new-found friend was shocked by before he was teleported away.
Standing before him with their weapons drawn were two dragonborns, a male and a Female, the two of them very strong and muscular, befitting the ways of their tribe.
The male had curly black hair that had a red tint to it, it was paired with dark skin and a set of yellow eyes that had slit pupils like a cat or dragon. He had the horns and tail of a dragon, the horns were black like his hair and his tail matched it, but it had red under scales. He was extremely muscular, that would make any noble lady sneer at him and call him boarish. He was wearing a black uniform with the symbol on his tribe on it, and carried a greatsword. He appeared to be around 7'0 tall, but who could say.
The female standing next to him was just about two inches shorter than him, with wavy deep maroon hair pulled back into a ponytail, she had almond colored skin and yellow-green eyes with pupils like her companions. Like her male comrade, she was also extremely muscular, but not enough for someone to call her ogreish, instead they would think of her as bold and confident for having muscles like that. Her horns were a dark red, and so was her tail, but instead of black under scales she had a sort of redish brownish under scales. She was wearing a matching uniform but it had a cape that went down to about the bottom of her chest.
"You two are dragon born aren't you?" Frederick asked when he confronted the two.
"Indeed we are, and you are a puny human aren't ya?" The male dragonborn said, slamming his greatsword into the ground, making it stick in the dirt and stand right up.
"Don't ya think its a bit rude to prefer as us humans as "puny" just because we're smaller than you dragonborns?" Frederick poked back, taking his pistols out of their holsters and twirling them in his hands before resting them at his sides.
Their actions made it seem like a scene from some western scene where the main character and his rival were having a 1v1 in an empty street with no one around, however, this was different. Insead of being alone, Frederick had his troops behind him, waiting for their captain to tell them to advance, or to make a move himself.
The two leaders were silently staring at each others, making their allies nervous with anticipation but also annoyed that they weren't just getting on with it. But then one persons irritated comment broke the silence, reminding every one that they were at war, and on a battlefield.
"Ugh, hey Yeraz and human, can you two love birds stop staring at each other and just fight already? I'm being killed by boredom over here!" The female warrior next to Perils commander complained.
"Yes your right Tzara, also i have no feelings what-so-ever for this weakling, in fact i bet hes so puny that not even his bullets are able to shoot through anything!" Yeraz mock, however Frederick just scoffed at him and shot one of the soldiers behind his enemy in the leg, simply to prove a point.
"Ya think your so funny with that little remark, but ya won't be laughing once one of my bullets is in your head!" Frederick responded back, his voice full of animosity. He then raised the pistol in his right hand towards Yeraz and pulled the trigger.
Yeraz was fast enough to grab his great sword at deflect the bullet with it, "Thats more like it!" He shouted as Frederick and him charged each other, a smile on their faces, having found a worthy rival for each other.
The rest of the army, both the Revolutionaries and the Peril Kingdoms roared with their battle cries, battle erupting at the gates of Fort Invictus. Cracks started to form on the fortresses walls from the flames of the Fire nymphs and wing attacks from the battle mages, and there were deep scratch marks on the ground from Fredericks bullets and his special ability.

'What the hell' i thought, 'how could i have forgotten that piece of vital information!? I get that i found this arc cliche and annoying due to the way the author made them speak, but i can't believe i forgot THAT!'
I was in a panic, there was a very key part of the part of this arc in the novel that i completely forgot, simply because i didn't like how it started or ended. It was so bad that it caused the entire story to take a huge turn, it made the protagonists' hatred for demons even stronger than it was initially.
In the novel, the revolutionaries are practically obliterated by the Peril kingdoms united forces. Dragonborns are essentially the strongest after dragons, considering that their roots come from dragons. They can use both magic and due to the policies of their species, they are all extremely strong due to their competitive nature to try and become the strongest of their tribes.
They allied themselves with the Kingdoms forces under the false promise of a part of land that the Kingdom would give them for their help, but it was the same land they promised the Alkmene kingdom, which sparks another war with them, and when the demons take over Peril it practically becomes a blood bath.
Dragonborns typically don't care about expanding the land for their tribes, since they mostly live in hot climates like the Peril Kingdom, and stay away from highly populated areas that also have a lot of water, however they deeply wanted the land the were "Promised" after a new tribe of Dragonborns were created, that needed more water than the others. The Alkmene kingdom also wanted the land due to wanting to make their kingdoms water species able to socialize more with the main land, even the ones who couldn't leave the water.
However, the demons wanted to use the wants and needs of the two foes against each other to spark another war and cause the two to destroy one another, so that they could claim both of their lands and establish a kingdom in the human realm for themselves. Considering that the gates to the demon realm are in between the borders of the two kingdoms, which was what made them allies in the first place.
"Victor, you can use magic right?" I questioned him with urgency in my voice, then i grabbed his shoulders, wanting him to pick up then hint.
"Yes, but only the basics, vampires who choose to use magic are generally only able to use magic assigned to their attribute but i can do a bit more since i have an aptitude for the neutral element," He explained.
"Great, then if you are able to i need you to send a message to Arwan, its very urgent. And please make it quick!" I ordered him, the panic in my voice only rising. I let go of Victors shoulders and crossed and arms, tapping my foot.
"Alright, i'll make it as short but also clear as i can, what is it you wish to tell him?" Victor said, staying calm, perhaps to get me to calm down.
So i made this chapter longer than intended, but i wanted to get that last explention in or you guys, but if you like the rest of the chapters to be this length i think i can manage that, but only if you want them to be that long!
@_@
I can't stop imagining Conlaed as princess peach since i wrote that part, i also, for some reason, started to imagine Frederick wearing a cowboy costume, tbh i think it'd fit him XD
Fanart of them wear stuff like that is welcom *winky face*
