The Multiverse Traveller

*WARNING* *WARNING* Firstly let me get this out of the way. I've already dropped 2 other fanfictions so please don't expect much. If people who have read my other works read this as well, I am deeply sorry if I drop this cause it shows I haven't learned my lesson. Apart from that, there will be no/NADA/ZERO R-18 nor Harem content in this novel there is already enough of that on this site so I don't think you need it again. Apart from that for now I am stockpiling chapters so release rate won't be regular. BE WARNED. Every 5 billion years a tournament was held, a tournament to bring rise to a Great God. The existence of such a being could bring a race to prosperity while the loss of one could bring it to its knees. Humanity had been losing for many many many years. This was already their 629th loss when they picked Jin, the man who would be their champion who they put all their hopes on. "I may die at the Grand Races Tournament but before that, I'll try my hardest, not just for myself but for all of humanity." That was his resolution that led him to the top.

Chapter 1 Meeting the Old Man

"Nani!?" A boy shouted as he looked at his surroundings. He was currently in a pure white space with no one to be seen. 'Am I delusional or is this one of those legendary events!?' He thought as he looked around the space.

"Indeed this is a legendary event." An old man said as he walked out of the void. "HAHAHAHA! It is finally my time!" The boy laughed as he looked at the old man.

The old man not surprised at all just shook his head. "That tends to be the reaction." He said as he walked towards the boy. "So what, do I get a run down or something?" The boy asked as he looked the old man in the eye.

"Yes, simply put you're still alive." The old man said as he beard blew in the wind. 'Da faq?' The boy thought confusedly as he looked at the old man. "Then why am I here? Isn't it supposed to be your fault that I died and I get cheats and stuff?" The boy asked confusedly.

"No, no, no, you humans have as you would say, a small brain. In reality, us Gods aren't allowed to reincarnate you ourselves even if we wanted to, at most we can give you some slight benefits but that's about it.

Simply put if one of you dies because of us Gods wrongdoings, you will simply be put in one of the various after lifes and to balance out the karma as you'd say we'd give you some slight benefits, such as increased luck or something similar, not a rinnegan or what have you." The old man explained.

"Okay, okay I got that but why am I here if I am alive." The boy said as his mood worsened and worsened. "Well simply put, I need you, naturally though if you don't want to help me I'll send you back to earth and wipe your memories of this event." The old answered before continuing.

"Now I know what you're going to ask. Why do you need me? Or what's in it for me? To answer that I as such don't need you but humanity does.

I may be considered a God but I am after all very weak in the grand scheme of things only being considered a Lesser God and all of humanity as a whole only has about 1000 Lesser Gods, 100 True Gods, and 1 Great God.

You may not understand what that means as such but 1 Great God can kill the rest of the Gods. This as such is a good thing that we have a Great God but we aren't the only race. Within the Grand Multiverse, there are many races too many to count and out of them, we are only a minute race within the Humanoid Races faction."

'Jesus Christ! Will he get to the point?!' The boy thought as he began to twiddle his thumbs.

"I know this may be a bit long-winded but this is all necessary. To finish up basically, within the Humanoid Races faction there is a Grand Races Tournament in which every Humanoid Race enters one participant. This takes place every 5 billion years after which all Humanoid Races universes will be reset and begin again playing out in similar ways as the previous universe." The old man said.

"So you want me to be your participant?" The boy asked as his blood began to boil in excitement. "Indeed." The old man answered as the boy nearly cried tears of joy. "Calm down. Everything isn't as easy as it seems." The old man told him as the boy calmed down.

"Okay, then fill me in, let's start with why you picked me and humanity's situation, oh and also my rewards." The boy said as he started clenching his fists tightly with a wide grin on his face.

"Got it, then let me explain why we picked you. Humanity has a multitude of universes, of which the more important ones would be about 10,000 of which the most important is yours.

Now one may wonder why this was the case, as your universe harbors some of the weakest humans of the universes but this was because of one simple factor, your universe is the beginning of the rest.

From your universe and namely your planet, faith energy was produced and formed a single being, a Lesser God. After this, once the universe died out, the Lesser God remade it and expunged himself so that his energy could be given back to the universe to help it grow. From this energy, 10 Lesser Gods rose up and ascended and the cycle continued. Eventually, a Great God was formed and using the imagination energy from your planet countless other universes were created by the Great God.

After this, we entered into the Humanoid Races faction and we began to participate in the tournament. We didn't know who to select though or when to select them so we missed the first tournament and after that, the Great God molded 1000 soul crystals which would stay in 1000 souls till the designated time, after that they'd ignite and we'd be notified and we'd pick a participant from the 1000.

Needless to say, the 1000 soul crystals were all sent to your planet after every reset and you are the most suitable 1 out of them." The old man finally finished.

'I feel like I've aged 100 years after that but damn, I am lucky to be 1 of out of the 1000 and be one of said 1000.' The boy thought semi excitedly as he let out a big breath. "Okay, okay I got that so there are lots of universes mine's the main one and I have one of those soul crystals, so what am I gonna do now?"

"Well to say it briefly and this time I mean it. You'll be sent to those as you'd say "fictional" universes and get stronger. After that, you'll participate in the Grand Races Tournament in which you'll either die or win and become a Great God." The old man said.

"Okay got it, so basically this is a fanfiction but I actually have a proper goal and I am being reincarnated for an actual reason and not because you farted on me or something?" The boy said as he mocked the other fanfics. (I had to guys(to be fair I've also done this so I guess I am a hypocrite))

"Yes, the time you have to prepare for the tournament though is 1billion years so don't worry that you'll live less than if you don't participate. Either way, you'll probably die but we'll retrieve your soul if you die in the tournament so don't worry." The old man said.

"So basically this a high-risk high reward situation but along the way, I'd get to live 10 million times the amount I'd get to live if I don't accept and if by some chance I win I'll be nigh-omnipotent and immortal? I am in." The boy said as he got even more excited.

'I was going to accept from the beginning but this just made it that much easier.' He thought as he began to walk towards the old man. "So how do we seal the deal, do I just shake your hand?" The boy asked as he stretched out his hand.

"This should suffice." The old man said as he also stretched out his hand and shook the boy's hand. "I wish you luck, Jahan." The old man said. "Who the fuck is....." The boy muttered out before he disappeared into the white void.

"We should finally win after all these years right?" The old man said as he disappeared into the void.
