SWEET REVENGE

<Just remember that you chose this path>

[I know what I'm doing, alright?]

<Never say that I did't warn you>

***

I immediatley felt a surge of power as the dark mana slowly filled my body, is what I'd like to say, but that would just be a lie. I was in a hell lot of pain right now!

Seriously?! What the hell is it with all this pain that I'm experiencing today?! That god was a real scammer for sure! To hell with him, if he's not already there, that is.

However, I couldn't deny that other strange feeling I felt, and that was power. But one thing was certain; someone else was going to suffer a lot more than me.

The demon seemed to have a more serious expression on her face as she was talking loudly, but I wasn't so sure it was me she was talking to.

"What do you mean run away? He's not that powerful now, is he?" she asked in a worried voice while shaking the orb for some reason. Is...is she talking to it like a normal being?

Since it looks like it didn't respond to her, obviously, the demon remembered that I was still injured with her sword. She stretched her hand out and tried calling it back through my body, maybe hoping it would also inflict a fatal wound on its way, but I could feel no movement from my abdomen. I looked down, then I saw why.

The blade of the sword was pure black! I have no idea how that happened, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the dark mana. I carefully pulled it out, and began swinging it to get it's feel.

"Hmm... interesting."

"So this is how you were able to defeat them," I said, staring back at the now panicked demon girl. For some reason, when I looked at her, she flinched and her face paled. Huh, I wonder if she already knows that something inside me has changed.

"Y-you don't scare me! I'm the daughter of the Demon King Dammit!"

"No one said you weren't, demon. Or would you prefer I call you your highness?"

She didn't answer, but slowly stared backing away from me when I approached her menecingly.

***

<She wants to run away, Max. That orb of hers is advising her do so. One thing I don't like when some low tier artifact messes with my functions. Do what you'd the girl, just leave me!>

[Now has it become a personal thing?]

<Definitely >

[Good, then we are on the same page. Oh, and she's not going nowhere, mind you]

***

"Dark barrier!" I shouted.

A large, black dome, the same size as the one during the last forest, around one fifty metres in height and diameter, suddedly manifested and consumed both me and Emily. She desperately tried breaking through it to fly away, but couldn't manage to even scratch its surface.

"Whaaaat? The all powerful demon is running away with her tail in between her legs?! A shame really," I taunted.

"I'm gonna make you beg for death, demon. First, how about we get read of those pesky wings of yours? Sword, if you'd please."

The sword obeyed my order and flew towards her. She quickly turned and tried blocking its path with her hands, but it was a futile attempt. It just teleported and appeared right behind her, before completely slashing both her wings off.

Emily screamed in pain as she fell down from the height she had gained while trying to flee, and crushed down to the ground with a cruching fall, creating a huge crater in her wake.

She quickly tried rising, even with her injuries, but with other instructions, the sword appeared right behind her again and stabbed her right leg, implanting itself firmly deep within her thigh. She could only scream in pain, no doubt the dark mana was preventing her from healing.

Left with no choice, she dropped down and began crying. Her eyes seemed to clear themselves of their mist when she was once again brought to pain with another slash from the sword, the same wide one I saw done at Bareth.

"Please! I'm begging you, Listen to me! I had no choice, alright? Father forced me to do this or he'll kill my younger brother!" she pleaded as she cried a river of tears.

"Despicable! So you saw it fit to kill more than two hundred students without batting an eyelash just for the sake of one demon?! If I was angry before, then now I'm really pissed OFF!" I screamed in anger while summoning the sword back to my hand.

"NO! WAIT! Please try to understand. He contro-"

"I'm done listening! Sword, cut off her legs,"

Her eyes widened in shock and fear as the sword she had once grown up with all her childhood came for her one more time to carry out its new masters wishes. She could barely manage to rise at this point, but still somehow, did so before she shouted,

"Mayhem Descend!"

That overused red beam of hers caught the sword head on, but unfortunately, the sword did just as before and disappeared, only to appear right in front her.

Looks like her last attempt to defend herself ended up a failure. With two quick and very painful slashes, the deed was done.

[Huh. I'm suprised the system can still communicate with me in this state. Must have been a secret mission I didn't know off. But before anything else, I have to finsih what I started]

***

"Now you feel how they felt. Hurts, doesn't it?" I asked the demon as she was desperately trying to crawl away from me.

Then something caught my eye that forced me to sprint towards her without warning. I reached her just in time and snatched that orb from her hands that had suddedly started glowing faintly. What are the chances it was planning to do something?

***

[Bradley. I have a feeling this orb is acquainted to her. I've got an idea.]

<... >

[I'm going to take that as you agreeing]

***

"So, you're the one that immobilized the teachers, right? I'm gonna make you regret that, orb,"

I placed my leg on Emily's head and began applying pressure on it. Her voice was still hoarse from all the screaming and crying, so the only thing she could do was whimper in pain. She tried squirming away from me, but with my temporary inhumane strength and her weakened state, that was nearly impossible. Suddenly, a voice reached my head that made me chuckle.

***

<You leave her alone, you dick! Do anything else to me but let live>, what I'm guessing was the orb, said.

***

"Too late for that, Orb,"

I backed away from Emily and lifted my right hand. I don't know where it came from, but somehow, I had a dark spell on my mind that would be more than perfect for this situation.

"Very well then. From the depths of hell, I summon to the tomb of Asmodeus to receive this sacrifice and vanquish thy enemy, DARK HOLE!"

I chanted, and immediately, black lightning striked the dark barrier, managing to penetrate through it quite easily and shattering what had remained. Soon, the one lightning became multiple, and they all condensed together to form a black swirling hole that emitted a powerful aura, showing that whatever entered there, wouldn't be coming out alive, or generally coming out of it in the first place. On its surface, one could see a spiraling abyss that seemed to pull even the very light from the skies.

Emily stared up at it in shock and deep fear.

Y–YOU CAN'T! Please don't send me there, anything but that!" Emily pleaded once more as chains descended from the unknown hole and grabbed a hold of her.

"Once chanted, there's no going back, Emily. You said earlier something about wishing to be my girlfriend were we to meet at different circumstances, right? Well, sorry to say, I hate two faced girls!" I shouted at her as the chains finally managed to reel her into the hole while she made an earpiercing scream of horror, the hole slowly closing behind her.

But something suprising happened before it could fully close. The orb in my hand shot out at an amazing speed and strength, and squeezed through the narrow gap of the hole, managing to bypass its walls.

"Huh? How can an orb...."

I trailed off as cracks began to form around the once closing but now forcebly opening dark hole until finally, it shattered completely to pieces, dropping Emily towards the ground.

***

<Go catch her, Max>

[Wait, WHAT?! NO!]

<Just do it. You've already had your revenge>

[.... fine! You better have a good reason for this]

***

I caught her just in time before she hit the ground and gently placed her down. On closer inspection, I felt a sweat trickle down my face as I saw something that was seriously not right. Her skin was so flawless, healed of its injuries, one might have even thought that she wasn't in a battle just recently. And just how the hell did her legs grow back that quickly?! Not even trolls can grow limbs with that kind of speed!

"That's...that's not possible! Not even a scratch! I'm sure this would have finished her off seeing as she was scared for her life, so how?!" I asked to no one in particular.

*crack!*

"OWWWW!"

I felt one of my bones crack and my heart began burning in pain, so I immediately limped towards a tree cause it was an emergency. As soon as I got to a good area, I began vomiting black blood and right after fell down in pain.

***

<Told you this would happen. I said you're not ready for this. Now gonna die a virgin, Max. Good luck being the pawn of lord darkness!>

[Please, don't joke now of all times! Wait, who's the lord of darkness? Nevermind that. What can you do to help me?]

<Say please>

[BRADLEY!]

<OK, ok. Hold you horses already. This is sure to work>

[...please don't tell me...]

<Good night Max>

***

I felt something prick my butt before feeling a feeling of drowsiness washed over me.

***

[For crying out loud! Really, Bradley?]

<Uh-huh >

***

<*Forced sleep courtesy of the system!*>

***

Before blacking out, I thankfully saw someone run towards me with a worried face.

"F...Flint... heart?"
