The Merchant (Reboot)

Is your brother sick? I have the cure. Radiation? It's not a problem. Magic? Shh, don't tell anyone. Bubbly black drink? It's called Coke. Gold? Ahh I have tons of it. Luck was an unemployed loser who only knew how to play games. One day, while playing on his computer, Luck was exposed to solar energy and gained a mysterious power that allowed him to travel to and from another world. The other world he could travel to was a world where monsters roamed, kingdoms and empires existed, and a force called mana gave people superhuman powers. By traveling back and forth between these two worlds, Luck will enjoy being a merchant, carrying goods and trading between the two worlds, and making money by using the advantages of both worlds.

Out of Stock!

"6 more burger menus!" Luck shouted towards the kitchen, trying to keep up with the incoming orders.

"Roger that, boss!" came the immediate reply from the kitchen.

His business seemed to explode after the first customers entered his shop.

The tables inside the shop were already full, and even though people who couldn't find a place to sit had to leave the shop with their hamburgers in their hands after ordering them, they didn't complain.

Even so, the number of people waiting to order continued to grow.

"3 menus ready!" one of the employees came out of the kitchen with trays and placed them on a table, but they were quickly snatched up by the people waiting for their orders.

"Thank you, Devi!"

Devi, Can and Liam were the 3 people Luck hired to work in the kitchen.

Devi looked at the people waiting in line and then looked at Luck as if she wanted to say something, but she seemed hesitant.

Luck noticed Devi's constipated expression and said, "Spit it out."

"Boss, we don't have enough food for everyone waiting in line, the food is almost gone."

Luck was surprised "Huh? We had supplies for 100 servings and we're already out?"

"Yes boss, we have 20 servings left."

Trying to keep up with the orders, Luck hadn't counted the number of menus he had sold so far, but when he thought about it, 10 tables for 4 people were full, which was 40 menus, and there were many customers who had already bought their burgers and left the shop, so it made sense that they were running out of stock.

Luck shuddered as he looked at all the people still waiting in line to buy burgers.

These were all people with 2-3 times the strength of a person on earth, and if they realized that they had been waiting all this time for nothing, they could get angry and destroy his shop.

"Shit, what do I do now? Should I tell them we don't have any more burgers to sell before it's too late?"

Luck shook his head and dismissed the thought "The one at the end of the line has been there for at least half an hour and they'll make a scene

While Luck was trying to decide what to do, he kept taking orders.

1,3,5,,10 menus, and before Luck could decide what to do, his stocks had run out.

"3 more menus!" Luck shouted towards the kitchen.

But this time there was no reply from the kitchen that the order had been taken.

"3 more menus!" Luck shouted again, thinking that maybe the people in the kitchen hadn't heard him.

When the kitchen door opened, Devi came out empty-handed this time.

"Boss, we don't have any more ingredients."

These words were like a bombshell for those waiting in line, who had been excitedly dreaming of the hamburger they were going to eat until that moment.

"What do you mean you don't have any more material? We waited for nothing!" The man whose turn it was to order was seething with anger.

He slammed his hands on the table in front of Luck, cracks could be seen on the table.

"If you're running out of ingredients, why didn't you tell us in advance and we didn't have to wait in line for hours?!"

A frightened Luck raised his hands and said, "Calm down sir, there is no need to get angry..."

"No need to get angry?" the veins on the man's forehead had become prominent.

"I've been waiting in line for an hour and a half. I could have done something else in the meantime, couldn't I? They say time is money."

Luck faltered, not knowing what to say.

All the people waiting in line started grumbling.

"You've wasted our time, how are you going to compensate us, huh?!" the man continued to attack

Luck took the backs of the people who were angry because they had been waiting in line with him.

The man's fox instincts kicked in, and he realized that he could get something out of Luck, who was scared of the crowd when he realized that the people in the line were also angry because they had been waiting for hours like him.

While Luck was looking at the crowd and not knowing what to do, Can came out of the kitchen and came to Luck.

"Boss, we're out of meat and hamburger meat, but we still have frozen fries and Coke, should we put them in the fridge?"

Can's words were like pleasant music to Luck's ears.

"Do we still have fries and coke?"

"Yes, boss!"

Luck said with great excitement, "Very good!"

Realizing that he had found the exit he was looking for, Luck turned to the crowd waiting in line

"Guys, we're out of burgers, but we still have coke and fries! Coke and fries menu, special for 1 silver!"

A large part of the crowd shouted with joy when they heard that they could get a potato and a Coke for only one silver.

"Huh," the man at the head of the line realized he had missed his chance when the majority of the crowd showed a happy expression.

'idiots, we could have gotten it all for free if we'd just gone a little harder on Luck..."

Luck discussed with Can how many servings of potato and coke he had left and when he realized that he had about 25 more servings left, he counted the people waiting in line and when he realized that there were 23 people waiting, he waited for 2 more people to come to the order line and declared that he could not take any more orders.

...

When the last person in line left the store with his food and Coke, Luck locked the doors and plopped himself down in a chair.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Luck said, "It's finally over."

Devi, Can and Liam came out of the kitchen, tired but with smiles on their faces. On their first day of work, they had finished their entire stock. They didn't have to worry about being unemployed again.

Seeing the tired but happy expressions of his workers, Luck smiled: "We have no more supplies left, go and rest, we won't be done so early tomorrow."

Realizing that the tables were full of dirty trays, Liam opened his mouth to confess, but Luck understood his intentions and signaled him to shut up.

"I'll clean up here, you go."

Not daring to defy their boss, the three employees left the shop with quick steps.

Looking around at the mess, Luck said, "Maybe I should hire someone else to clean up." Remembering his aching back, he added, "I could also hire someone else to take orders."

In just a few hours he had earned 525 silver pieces, which equaled 78 thousand dollars. He had already made back all the money he had spent on the hamburger and made a profit, and if he hadn't run out of ingredients, he could have made even more.

"If I sell 500 silver every day, that's 5 gold coins, I can earn 150 gold coins a month, and if I pay the rent of 100 gold coins, I get 50 gold coins, and if I pay the workers 5 gold coins a month, that's 45 gold coins." Luck started to calculate his earnings.

"But I made 500 silver in just a few hours, not in a day hahaha!" Luck laughed with pleasure thinking about the money he could make.

A/N: For Commoners, 1 gold is equal to several months of earnings. The usual meal for Commoners is oats, which is equivalent to 10-20 coppers. Luck is not aware of this fact as he has so far interacted mostly with starfighters and the upper-middle-class merchants Halt and Horace. 45 gold is a lot of money even for an ordinary merchant.

The salary of an ordinary employee ranges between 50-70 silver. Even if ordinary people could afford hamburgers, they would not dare to eat food as expensive for them as hamburgers all the time.
