CHAPTER 49

　　I made my way downstairs with Luca behind me. I could tell he wanted to know what I meant but I was saved the trouble of explaining when the doorbell rang right on cue.

　　My mom and dad arrived right on time. We greeted them and made small talk while we waited for the others.

　　Five minutes later Luca's dad showed up with a woman who obviously was the human he spoke about. I greeted the both of them and I could tell by the way he looked at her he really liked her. He embraced Luca and introduced him to the woman. She smiled kindly and told him it was nice to finally meet him.

　　We introduced them to my parents. Our dads shook hands as did the woman and my mother.

　　"Fine boy you raised here Martin," my dad said to him.

　　"I could say the same about your daughter," he replied.

　　I was glad they seemed to be getting along.
