A Small Dance
"He's right. You need some help." Lewis said to Todd's comment now that he had left.
"Seeing you are currently in the same boat, I don't think you have a place to talk." Dassen said to him, taking another drink from the bottle that he had. Adeline looked torn between laughter and censor.
"Not quite the same boat." he turned and looked at Adeline. "Do you have any desperate friends?" Lewis asked her.
"Uh, not for you. Him maybe, you no." Dassen gave a real laugh at that, and Lewis looked hurt.
"Not me? What's wrong with me?" Adeline gave him a half smile.
"Unlike him, you don't have money nor looks. My friends would have to be pretty damn desperate to want you."
"I like you Adeline." Dassen said with a smile. Lewis reached over yanking the bottle from her.
"Give me that, you aren't my friend anymore. It's because I don't have wings isn't it? Figures." Adeline laughed a bit.
