Do they really have to humiliate me like this?

In no time at all, two days after that fateful dinner, news about the upcoming wedding between two conglomerate heirs spread like wildfire throughout the country. The media have been in a state of frenzy ever since the PR Directors of both business groups came out to announce the good news. For the business world, this is a simple joining of hands, a simple cooperation. But with the lavish, decorative words from the media and news outlets, it became an entirely different story.

After the announcement, a lot of reporters from both sides of the fence gathered in front of the concerned parties' offices, hoping to get some kind of update or gossip, just about anything that they could get their hands on.

Some stations covered basic and actual facts.

"Big news came our way this morning and it's about the upcoming wedding between the heirs of the famed Chung Group and Song Corp. Former CEO, Song Seungwoo, and CFO, Song Su-Won stepped down only a few days ago to hand over the company reins to their only son, Song Hyun-Shik..."

Others covered theories and some plausible explanations.

"The Big Brother of the finance world may have seen an opportunity to hold hands with Song Corp. At this point in time, the latter really does not have anything to offer the Chung Group. But, seeing as President Chung's daughter, Chung Ji-Eun, is the finance industry's secret weapon, she might be able to create a comeback miracle for Song Corp."

There were even those who created rumors and reveled in some gossip.

"Some might consider this event as the biggest and most controversial one to hit us all this year. With many considering Song Corp's status, many are wondering if this is just a ruse so that they can save their already failing image within the business world. Is this just a trick, so that they can get their old resources back? How could their company be compared to a giant like the Chung Group? And to be in bed with them even? It's just unbelievable!"

The rest of the newsgroups? Well, they were just interested in the aesthetics of it all.

"A lot of fashion designers and planners are already vying for a place at the event, but those involved still haven't confirmed who they're hiring or using. We haven't really seen the Chung heiress a lot on air because she's a very private person, so we have no idea how or what she would look like in a Wang or in a Herrera dress. Comparing the bride to the groom, who is almost always seen in front of the media, it's clear who we are more eager to see at this wedding. Meanwhile, inside scoop revealed that they are going to invite a lot of big names, from celebrities to politicians to famous businessmen..."

Crash!

Bright yellow liquid and some noodle strands slid from the side of the television.

"What did you just do?" Park Kyung-Wan asked his sister who had just thrown a bowl of noodles at the television. "Have you gone crazy?"

She continued to glare at the inanimate object in front of her. They had been eating lunch in the living room that day, watching some cheesy daytime drama when the news kicked in for some special announcement.

"As if I need to hear all this bullshit!" She then ran a string of curses that would make anyone's mother cry. "Do they really have to humiliate me like this?"

"What are you saying, Yuri?" Her brother all but rolled his eyes. "How can they humiliate you when no one actually knows about your relationship with the Song Corp. heir?"

Park Kyung-Wan had just about enough of his sister's outbursts that he felt he needed to slap her with the truth from time to time. It had been hard enough for him because of her constant mood swings. And now, with this grand wedding reveal between her boyfriend and some rich heiress, she has become intolerable to the point that they can't eat a proper meal without her throwing dishes and cutlery at something.

"Really, Kyung-Wan? I should be the one marrying Song Hyun-Shik!" She said in a mocking voice, pulling at her hair.

Kyun-Wan straightened his back. "Oh? Do you think the media will care about you and this guy if you announce your engagement or something? What's the weight of your name compared to the wench he's marrying?"

Bae Yuri could only swallow her anger. "You... Whose side are you really on anyway?!"

He could only sigh in frustration.

"Yuri," he said, standing up to clean her mess. Yet again. "Let's stay calm, okay? I'm on your side. I said I would help you, so let me help you."

"Help me?" Yuri slammed her hands on the low table. "You told me to let him go!"

"No. I told you to wait," Kyung-Wan did not bother to look at his fuming sister. He stood up to wipe the television with a wad of paper towels on one hand, while holding the cracked bowl with the other. "Anyway, isn't that the reason why you rejected his marriage proposal before? Because your boyfriend's company went bankrupt? Why are you still complaining now when there's a ready solution to your problem?"

Yuri sneered at her brother for some time before, standing up and walking away.

"You know, Yuri, if it was any other job, I would have already dragged you away from Main City, but it seemed like you have already fallen for this guy... enough to stay by his side without living the high life you've always loved."

At her brother's words, she froze on the spot.

"So, I'm not going to tell you to do anything otherwise," Kyung-Wan passed Yuri as he brought the dirty bowl to the kitchen sink. "I'm just curious to see the outcome of your ruse."

Yuri stepped up to her brother and got into his face. "Thank you for your suggestion, Park Kyung-Wan. If not for anything else, I would have kicked you out a long time ago... But really, Brother, what I do from here has absolutely nothing to do with you."

Kyung-Wan smiled at his sister, her words bouncing off of him easily. "You are going to need me, Sister. Maybe not now, but one day."

He patted her head and went back to his perch in the living room.

Behind him, Yuri could only contain her anger. After about a minute, she marched back into her room and grabbed her phone. She typed in a quick message and held her desire to smash her phone as she waited for a reply.
