Voices in my head

******************************

Xavier's POV

I went back to the room, I didn't meet Zeke there and I was relieved, I had no strength to deal with him or anyone right now.

I sat on the bed and clenched my hair. I was so angry, and I was not usually like this.

"Argh," I grunted loudly then unsheathed my sword, throwing it at the door which it impaled, dangling without falling, I exhaled and lay on the bed, catching my breath.

"That blonde was right, I did make you look badass." I heard a voice, it was very deep and distorted, I quickly sat up, looking around the room for the source of the sound but I was the only one there.

"Zeke?" I called, walking to check in the bathroom and closet, but it was empty.

I thought I heard someone, was I hallucinating so early in the morning? Or was Zeke playing a prank on me?

"Finally, a body that contains my soul without turning to ash." The voice said again and I instantly took a stance, drawing out my sword which was impaled in the door.

The voice sounded so close but yet there was no one.

"Your body isn't bad too, you're handsome, a hotshot, smart, observant and your d*ck is impressive." The deep voice said again.

My face flushed as I wondered what kind of ghost was this perverted.

"I am not a ghost!"

I was shocked because I didn't say those words," Show yourself you coward!!" I yelled looking around the room.

"Look in the mirror."

Was that a command, I hate being ordered, but I had to, since I had to know what I was up against.

I looked in the mirror, expecting to see my reflection with someone standing behind me, well, technically the only thing recognizable was my face, but with completely different features.

Whoever I was seeing was the most majestic being I had ever seen or laid my eyes upon.

Silvery white long hair, about the same length as mine, a pair of pitch black eyes that looked like a vortex, ready to swallow in anyone who stares. The figure had Pale white skin, fangs, like a vampire, and black horns which I expected to look hideous but instead looked amusing.

He had my face but with longer eyelashes and stronger jawlines. The mirror's background was the same reflection of the room, but it was dark and everything was upside down, which was shocking and weird.

I had my eyes wide open like saucers, Was I staring into a different world and why did this being have my face, he looked exactly like me.

"W...who are you?" I asked.

"I am Zavian, the great Black serpent, an ancient demon with a closer rank to Lucifer, the devil." He answered with an authoritative voice.

"De...demon, not a ghost?" I asked, my palms started to sweat and I was trembling and sweating profusely. I would have prepared myself if it was a ghost but a demon with a closer rank to the devil was too much for me, both mentally, and physically.

"Would a ghost look this good?" Zavian asked and I creased my brows. Questions were running through my mind like, was he here to take me to the afterlife? Was I going to die like this?

"I expected Demons to be more hideous than ghosts," I said with a gulp, I was frozen in a spot. If this demon was indeed here to take me to the afterlife then I should at least stall him until Zeke gets back.

"Well, your expectations were wrong," Zavian said.

" How...how are you in my mirror, why do you have my face, why are you even here?" I asked.

"I am not in your mirror, I am inside you."

"Excuse me...what?" I asked in disbelief, straining my ears to get what he just said.

"I am inside you, this isn't my true form and since I am inside you, you are my host," Zavian said and I gulped down.

'Was a demon really inside me, did I die?' I asked myself inwardly.

"You did die."

"You can read minds?"

"I am inside you, I hear your thoughts not read them," Zavian said.

"How did I die, why am I still alive?" I asked.

"I killed you."

"You killed me?!"

"Yes," I said and silence reigned for a short while until I burst out in panic.

"Oh hell no, I am f* king having an exorcism," I said, shooking my head and running my fingers through my hair.

"You can't you're dead, I am keeping you alive by being inside you, I am your source of life right now," Zavian said.

"Why would you kill me?" I asked almost on the verge of breaking down.

"I needed a host, the ones I got before would either disintegrate and turn to ash before I even got in their body, You were the only one in 500 years to contain my soul and I guess it is because you are a direct descendant of the first ruler of Cranes Kingdom. He was one of the Saviours of the land and among the blessed."

"What..."

"Let's skip that story for later," Zavian said.

"What is your reason...your reason for coming here? I am guessing it's not just because Hell is a loathsome place." I asked, I was not as scared as I was before, maybe looking at this demon but seeing my face made me lose some fear.

"That's among the reasons," Zavian said with a snap.

"But what is the main reason, Zavian?" I asked, this time, calling his name. I had a feeling he had an ulterior motive for coming here and leaving the underworld and whatever he had planned had to do with me.

"Let's also save that story for later, If I tell you now, you might do an exorcism to get rid of me," Zavian said with a grin, revealing his sharp yet amusing fangs.

"So an exorcism will get rid of you?"

Pfft, don't be so daft and naive, I am way too powerful for that, an exorcism will be ticklish to me, like a feather in my pants." Zavian said.

"Powerful huh, what can you do?" I asked with my hand on my chin.

"Whatever you imagine, like teaching that blonde a lesson," Zavian said, referring to Carrigan.

"That's a tempting offer, but I respectfully decline, I would like for you to leave my body," I said.

"I can't, I told you, I am you and you are me, we are bonded now, my soul and your body, You bleed, I bleed, you get hurt, I get hurt." He explained and I ran my fingers through my hair, pacing up and down the room.

'What have I gotten myself into?' I asked myself inwardly.

"A great deal, you should be glad to have a...no be a demon," Zavian said with a smirk.

"Demons are barbaric creatures," I yelled in frustration.

"Hey, we have feelings too, Don't hurt my feelings." He said, leaving Xavier baffled.
