I head to my bedroom, following the barking, where I find my gorgeous all-white Huskey with black around her paws, otherwise known as Crystal.

Hunched over, she was whimpering in pain. I was alarmed by her posture constantly changing as she was whining the whole time. The look in her eyes was like she didn't recognize me.

Walking closer to her to better look at what was happening, she bared her fangs and growled at me. They looked exceptionally long and sharp. I took slow steps attempting to soothe her, but she was aggressive towards me.

"CRYSTAL," Dwayne yells

I was hoping to get her to recognize my voice. She began to calm down to the sound of my voice. Her posture shifted to a more relaxed one.

"I understand that you might be in pain, but you have to calm down so I can see what the issue is. But if you bark at me again, I'll have to remind you of your potty training days. Now SIT! Let me check out what's wrong with you." Dwayne says

Her whimpers quiet down as she takes a seat. Laying down on all fours, she waits for me to come and check her. Feeling all over her body, I find nothing wrong with her beside her physical appearance. Her size doubled, but that was the only change I could find. I was on the verge of giving up when I noticed something shiny in her mouth.

I held out my hand, indicating that she spits it out. She lowered her head towards my hand, releasing what looked like a small jewel of some kind. I couldn't recognize it at all. I would know if I owned something as expensive-looking as this.

I placed it in my pocket as I stood back up when the System went off before me once more to inform me of how important this tiny jewel-like thing was.

It turns out to be a Mana Diamond. The very same thing that it said I couldn't get because it's a one in a trillion chance of me finding one. Oh, how I wish it were a natural person so I can rub it in its face, and you thought I wouldn't get one. "Hahaha"

"Hey System, I would like to know what's going on with my dog," I asked, staring at a quite agitated Chrystal. Her size is still so shocking to me.

[Your dog tried to eat it but could not handle the power it was giving off. I suggest you digest it yourself as the benefits from it will make a big difference for you.]

Looking disgusted, I had to question the System further.

"So you want me to eat something that has just been in my dog's mouth? Just how sick are you? Is this your way of getting back at me?"

[Eat it, that's the only way for you to assimilate with it.]

As I pulled the jewel out of my pocket, I look at it skeptically. "Ahh, man, I hope you're not joking with me."

I take it to the bathroom first to wash it off thoroughly with soap before I ingest it. Shaking the remaining drops of water off of it, I take a deep breath, mentally preparing myself to consume a jewel. As in a rock, I can't chew a rock! I closed my eyes and threw it back, and that's when all hell broke loose in my body.

AHHH!

The pain was almost unbearable. I fought with all my might to stay conscious as I felt myself going in and out. I took hold of the dresser, trying to stay upright as my legs tried to give out on me. My breathing was erratic as my body calmed down from the reaction. My lungs burned as I tried to catch my breath. I held my chest standing back up to an appropriate posture.

"Stupid System, why would you set me up? Are you trying to kill me?! I want a refund! There has to be another System I can get because if this goes on, you're going to get me killed."

[Host, there is only one System. I will now tell you the benefits you received for having to go through what you just did.]

[ As long as you can locate and obtain more of these Mana Diamonds, the perks will only increase. But also the degree of pain that the Host must go through to achieve such power is not small.]

"Well, ok. During all of my suffering, I heard an alert go. What was that about?"

[That also pertained to a perk of the mana diamond; it makes the acquisition of skills easier for the Host.]

[Host has acquired the Tamer skill due to the closeness you have with your dog and the fact that you exert complete dominance over it in its weakened state. Without the Mana Diamond, it would have taken the additional time and effort to attain this skill.]

[Tamer - LVL 1 - Able to tame and train different creatures. They have absolute loyalty to you once they are tamed. To better tame, the subjects should be in a weakened state. 1/2]

"Now that I've seen my own stats, is it possible I can view Crystal's stats as well?"
