Chapter 13 - Wasn't interested!

Pheia's mind was a mess again. She can't seem to figure out what exactly was happening. She instantly stood once she heard her name and was looking back and forth searching for the source of the sound.

Still clueless, she decided to answer the voice, "Who are you? Why am I in here?". A moment of silence was then heard after she asked.

Then she saw how the bright lights occupies the space she was in, sucking all the colorful lights. She covered her eyes with her hands and just let them down once the light slowly fades its brightness.

When she finally adapted to the light's brightness, what she saw immediately brings scrunch into her face.

In the middle of the white space was a kid wearing nothing but underwear. The kid looked up to her and smiled.

Pheia, on the other hand, was more than baffled. She asked herself, Just what in the world is happening in here?!

"Pheia... Do you wonder?", the kid suddenly asked.

"Do you wonder what is this place? Why are you here? And where did this space come from? or do you wonder who am I?", the kid then consecutively throws her questions that were the same thing that she has in mind.

Although the kid looked young, maybe at his six or seven but the way he pronounces the words was like that of adults.

"Yes, I do wonder," Pheia answered hesitantly.

The kid then waves his hand and the distance between him and Pheia, from 20 meters immediately becomes 20 inches. Pheia was beyond shocked. Is this kid a magician? or an illusionist?

The kid extended his arms towards Pheia and said, "Hello Pheia, I am your Allex. Nice to finally meet you."

------------------

Pheia suddenly wakes up from her weird dream. A lot of sweat was dripping down from her hair that almost soaked her bed.

My Allex? Does allex have a mind or character of their own?

She brushed that idea away. Maybe it was just her dream. "Dreams are just made by your subconscious mind", she thinks.

She throws her blankets away and readied herself for the day, well for the afternoon. She woke up late because of her tiredness last night. But before she can even undress, a knock resounded from the outside of her door was heard. And the cracking of the door as it was opened echoed through her room.

"Pheia, you're awake." It was Joan. She immediately grabbed Pheia for a hug. And embraced her tightly while crying mournfully. Maybe it was the second time that she felt this way of a hug from her mother.

The first one was when she woke up as Pheia and now, this. She knew exactly what was the common thing and it was the fright of losing her.

She comforted her mom as she gently pats its back and said words of comfort. "Mom, I am okay. And I will always be okay. Please don't cry anymore."

"You know I am just worried about you Pheia. I don't know what to do if I lose you." her mom said.

She sighed inwardly and accepts her mom's sorrowful and full of worry cry.

She just let her cry for minutes and just said comforting words over and over again. Reassuring her that it won't happen again, and she will absolutely do her best not to be harmed.

And after some time, her mom's cries slowly came to a stop. She guided her mom to the kitchen and gave her a glass of water while still putting that kind gesture of patting her back. It was as if she was the mother and her mother was her child.

Prince Steel witnessed all of it and was even stunned to know that Pheia does have that eyes that bring warmth to people. Because he knows how lingering killing intent was written on Pheia's eyes once she talks to other people. It was just a level difference to whosoever person she was talking to. When she talks to Alani who is her best friend, the killing intent is at 20%. But when it comes to her mother, all those killing intents just fade away in an instance. Like no spot of killing intent was even there in the first place.

And when he remembered how she almost cut his throat last night, the killing intent in her eyes was approximately at 80%. And he might act as if it was nothing wrong but he was scared and even clenched his fist tightly. And that was the very first time that he feels threatened. It can't even compare to what he had gone through when he was tortured at the House Edame's mansion.

Prince Steel hardened his eyes that was with mirth, again. He won't let the Edame's get away from what they did to him. He will surely avenge his sufferings to them.

He clenches his fist hardly that all his hands could be as pure as white with no blood.

-----------------------------

Joan has come to her calm breathing when she realizes that today was Alani's visit to their house.

"Pheia, will you please help me cook? I just remembered that Alani is coming over." Pheia nodded. She almost has forgotten that Alani will be coming over tonight.

They immediately arranged the things to be cooked and chopped vegetables and meat needed. Pheia, although, knew how to cook was a bit wary about helping her mom cook right now. She is not aware of this world's taste in food so she didn't bother to help her mom in the cooking but was satisfied with chopping the onions and garlic for the recipes.

After chopping the onions and garlic, she chopped the carrots and potatoes. Well, she will be glad if her mom cooks Adobo or Afritada for her. But nah, she didn't expect it to be. There's no available tomato sauce, not even tomatoes themselves here, so she didn't bother.

She continued to chop the vegetables until all ingredients were prepared. Her mom, on the other hand, was already simmering the meat and was ready to do the next step. Pheia walks away from the kitchen cause she knew she can't help anymore and sits down on the couch in the living room.

While sitting she grabs the ragged notebook that she always used for exercising. Checking if she has gained some progress. She has also written in here all the records she has in the happenings on the future to come. Additionally, she wrote the allex levels she does have and some tips on how can she better attain her goal. It was a full packaged notebook, it contains anything that she knew in this world plus the red flags that the protagonist will be going through. So it was a very important document.

"What is that?" Pheia heard Prince Steel ask. She had already figured out the Prince sitting adjacent to her when she sits down.

"That is none of your business, Prince," she answered snobbishly. Prince Steel just looked at her in return and didn't ask any further. He knew when he was not welcome to have a conversation with. And he knew that Pheia wasn't someone he can force to talk to this time. Or was he just mesmerized by her movement that he can't talk? Well, it is him who knew his feelings.

Pheia, on the other hand, continued to rummage her notes.

Did you ask why, as an important document, did she show it to the Prince? Because she knew he wasn't the type to be interested in something he didn't own.
