Sister's bond

Ashley stepped out from Dave's apartment and stood at the balcony, she saw Thomas standing beside Lexi's car and her eyes subtly narrowed at him.

Luke had gone back and was standing by their mansion and just then Mr Jeff and his wife came out from the mansion, staring towards Thomas direction.

Ashley quickly bowed her head to greeted the elderly couple as she saw them standing in front of their house.

"Good afternoon Sir, Good afternoon Ma," Ashley greeted, and Mr Jeff nod, while his wife stared away from her in anger.

Lexi stared at Helen inside the house, whom was unnecessary blushing at him and he shook his head and finally stepped out to meet Ashley as he didn't want to waste any much of his time.

Helen kept an unusual smiling face and she went and carried Ashley's box, dragging it out to the front of the apartment and down towards Lexi Car.

Mr Jeff saw Lexi and he now understood better why Ashley had dressed up so elegantly and he walked towards them to meet them.

Thomas couldn't propose his feeling to Ashley again as he saw his father approaching and likewise his mother. He swallowed all he wanted to say to her as his father approached the car while Lexi greeted him as he was familiar with the elderly man.

"Good evening sir," Lexi greeted Mr Jeff and he smiled and asked, "So my daughter you're finally leaving our mansion. You should have informed us first before you leave, anyways there's no problem, send my warm regards to your father," Mr Jeff said to Ashley whom swallowed back and nodded while she walked to the side of the car to sit at the back seat.

Mrs Jeff quickly walked up to her and dragged her saying, "That's why I have said my son cannot marry you, no respect, no manners." She let go of Ashley and they'll stared at her.

"Am sorry ma'am," Ashley faintly apologized.

"I don't need your sorry, you should go and learn better manners and note that you're also a woman," Mrs Jeff said and Ashley didn't respond, she only sighed and turned to open the car door and got into the car.

Lexi bowed at Mr Jeff after locking the car's boot were he kept Ashley's box, he went back to the driver's seat and started the car's engine and drove out of their mansion heading back home to his father's house.

Ashley sat quietly in the car. She didn't say anything to Lexi who kept his gaze focused on the road. Lexi wondered how she has been copying staying for one good month in the Jeff's mansion. He knew Ashley to be a strong woman but she has changed a lot, what went wrong with his sister, he thought.

Lexi stared at the rearview mirror inside the car to look at her at the back seat, just as he shook his head and kept his gaze focused on the road, his phone rang, but he wasn't able to pick it up.

Ashley didn't ask him who was calling him either. She relaxed her back while he drove back to the Dots mansion.

On getting to the Dots mansion, Jane and her father stood out in front of the mansion waiting for Lexi to arrive.

Jane kept dialing on Lexi number to know if he had arrived the Jeff's mansion and as she was about to dial his phone line again, the horn of a car was heard outside their compound and the guards opened the gate for Lexi to drive into the compound.

Lexi drove and parked in front of the mansion first, while he turned of the car engine and stepped down first.

"ASHLEY!" Jane screamed and rushed towards her big sister. She had missed her though even though she saw her the last time she visited Dave's apartment.

Ashley came down and hugged her you get sister tight. Jane wasn't surprised at her dressed code, as she also saw her dressed feminine at Dave's apartment.

Mr Dot stood none smiling as he wasn't happy his daughter had returned. He had thought she will agree to marry Dave and was happy at first when Mr Jeff had told him, Dave had coitus with his daughter. His frown deepened as Ashley pulled away from the hug and walked up to meet him.

"Good afternoon father," Ashley greeted her father as she approached him where he stood at the balcony.

"Welcome Ashley," Mr Dot faintly replied.

"You can go in and offload your load, how about Dave, was he at the apartment when you returned?."

"No father, I hadn't seen him since the past time you saw him too.."

"Hmm..." Mr Dot hummed.

"Is okay, you can go in. We will discuss about cancelling the marriage later," Mr Dot said as he tapped on his walking stick and walked down from the balcony.

Ashley stared at her father in silence. She knew he wasn't happy about her return but she wouldn't blame him. Dave isn't her ideal kind of man and that's something she needed him to understand.

"Let's go in sis, I have a whole lot of gist for you," Jane told her and they both went into the living room.

Ashley missed her younger sister though, so she looked away from her father whom already got into his car and the driver drove out from their compound while she turned and went back into their living room with Jane.

Settling on a couch in their parlour and taking off her boot, Ashley asked Jane, "So how have you been coping?. I can see you're all smile and cute, You and father really didn't know the kind of hell I was facing with Dave and his family. I can't marry him." Ashley shook her head as she spoked and shifted her boot to a side, stretching her toes properly as she moved them.

"Hmm, but I thought you like him sister," Jane said remembering the day they caught both of them in bed.

"I don't know sister. I think I like him but I don't want to marry him. Marriage is different from likeness."

"Hmm.." Jane was quiet. She hasn't taken any relationship serious either. And even while she was in school, she was more focused on becoming a star actress and model and that had been her major focus. She had dated some guys but they only ended up cheating on her with the next beautiful model. She hadn't been lucky to meet a guy whom want to be faithful to her and the last man she went on a date with, he sent chills down her spine and she feared if he wasn't a killer or mafia like Dave as she remembered he had that ice chilling aura and non-smiling face. She sighed and spoked to Ashley, "Can we leave the marriage topic for now sister, do you know I meet Benita at the Silver house, we're actually shooting a movie together."

"Really and that silly girl couldn't even tell me. I thought she was working in White Copper Entertainment house, the last time I spoked to her that was what she told me and we recently did chatted ?," Ashley ranted.

"Hmm, Sis don't you know Dave's stepbrother Thomas Harry is the real owner of White Copper Entertainment house?."

"WHAT!" Ashley screamed.

"I never knew, I just knew that he used to go out and comes back after some days like Dave, I don't know what he do or works" Ashley replied.

"Hmm, I heard a lot about him and I thought the rumors were all lies just for the media house to sell out. The first day I had gone there for interviews was the first day I saw Dave and he actually dragged me out like I was his younger sister and told me never to work with Thomas, even though he was his brother," Jane said and Ashley frowned hearing Dave's name again. She really want to forget about him and she doubt if it would actually be easy for her to get rid of him or hearing is name.

She sighed and replied Jane as she stood up, "Come let's have our lunch together, I will go out and see Benita maybe tomorrow or next, am hungry." Ashley stood up first not wanting to talk about Dave. She knew he cared for her but she really didn't want to discuss anymore matters that might mention his name as a hero to her. All men are the same she thought.
