Chapter Fifty-five

The next morning, Jay was the one waking her up with kisses. Bella was giggling as he kept kissing all over her face and then he said, "Rise and shine honey, I think you lagging behind on school activities. You do realize I encourage education of women folks ", he said happily, dragging her into a sitting position. "Alright, I'm awake ", Bella said yawning and stretching. She smiled when he planted another kiss on her lips before leaving the room. "Got to prepare for work also ", he said hinting that if he stayed with her, they would be spending another day at home. "How are you feeling now Jay? ", Bella asked him, he stopped at the door and said, "I had the best nurse yesterday, how do you think I'm feeling ", and with a boyish grin, he was going to his room. Bella smiled, she did need some amount of privacy this time and for real, she was lagging behind on school activities. She washed up quickly, tidied up and headed downstairs. He was not in the dining area when she arrived and she wondered what was keeping him but then, she resumed breakfast slowly. "This is brutal, normally I'll wait for you ", he lamented as he came down to join her, he seemed to be excited today about something and Bella wondered what that was. He took his seat opposite her today and she wondered what happened to his regular seat. She questioned with her brows, "Oh this, I want to stare you in the eyes and watch the guilt of not waiting for me eat you up Bella ", he said while Katherine moved his food to his side, "Thank you Kath, I'll handle the dishing ", he said happily. Katherine was happy and winked at Bella. She mouthed a 'Thank you 'to Bella making her wonder what she did. They ate in silence with Jay occasionally cutting glances at her, one time, she nearly choked on her food out of anxiousness, she went into a coughing fit and he rose up, reaching over he patted her back while she grabbed a glass of water. They laughed over it and the rest of the meal went without events. 

After eating, she grabbed her stuff and went out, he was behind her. Jake had already brought the car around, "Hello Jake ", Bella greeted happily and the old man greeted her cheerfully. He was still indebted to her, so he felt. He opened the car door, she was about getting in when Jay stopped her, "Do not worry Jake, Miss Bella would be riding with me today. You can pick her up in the afternoon ok? ",he said so politely that the old man marveled. She got into his car and he set it on the road, "Very soon, I'm going to sign you up for driving lessons ",he said to her as they made their way to the school. She smiled and trust Jay, he said to her, "What's amusing you ma'am ", he asked and she laughed out, confusing him the more, "Probably the horns protruding from your forehead ", she said and they burst into laughter. Getting to the parking lot, Jay stopped her from stepping down, "Wait, I decided to give you 30 minutes after school each day and some amount for pocket money ", he announced and she smiled ear to ear. "Awww, thanks Jay ", she said and reached over to hug him. He hugged her tightly and then lifted her chin and kissed her lips. She returned the kiss and was the one to break it off, "Got to go", she said and he nodded. He watched her get down from the car and wondered when it would be just them and their kids. His phone beeped, it was a message from Alfredo.  He drove straight to the office like crazy, the impact of that message made him crazy on the road.
