CHAPTER FOURTEEN

When Natasha opened her eyes, she felt a striking headache that caused her to whimper in pain. The effect of the drugs had worn off, but not the numbness. She barely felt her legs, and it made her mentally curse. That cunning bastard!

"We don't have all day for you to sleep," Antonov reprimanded Natasha.

She barely found her voice to respond, so she just rolled her eyes and followed him out of the car.

As she followed Antonov to the house, down the stairs, she was able to look at the Mansion. It had the tallest ceiling she had ever seen, decorated by the most gorgeous sculpture of a mother and child. It was far better than Luca's house.

He grabbed her arm roughly and started to pull her with an increased pace when he was tired of her steady strides. With the stress and whatever drugs Lorenzo had administered, she hurt everywhere.

Weakness began to take over her body and she felt suddenly dizzy.

She tripped over her own feet, but quickly straightened when Antonov growled. Natasha was almost forced to kick him from the back, but repented.

She tried her best to walk normally as he pulled her forcibly to a room next to a closed one.

When he opened the door and pushed her inside, Natasha gasped as indescribable pain took over her body. The room was dark, but all of a sudden, the light was on. And her mouth fell to the floor at how huge the room was.

It was a magnificent view, which overlooked a beautiful back garden.

As she walked closer to the window and peeked outside, a sense of safety overcame her.

For a moment, she felt at home. She wondered how someone like Lorenzo could have something that looked so serene when he seemed like the type to burn down the world. A clear contradiction to his personality.

An impatient voice broke her away from her thought. She turned around to see him standing at the doorway. His arms were crossed over his chest, his muscles bulging. Natasha sneered at him and he only chuckled.

"Do you want to watch me get changed?"

He shook his head, stepped back, and closed the door.

She sighed in relief when his intense presence was no longer overwhelming the room. She looked around and saw the bed, which took up half the space in the room. A nightstand sat on either side of the bed, and a matching wardrobe to her left. In front of the bed was a bench with two pillows on either end.

Natasha walked over to the bed and sat on it, bouncing a little. The silky comforter was soft under her palm, she wanted to sprawl her body.

Seconds of taking a deep breath, the door banged open. It slammed so hard that she jumped to her feet. It was Antonov and he looked angry. Did that guy ever wear a different look except for anger and hatred?

"You were supposed to get clean," he said through gritted teeth. Antonov walked inside the room, his steps hard against the wood.

"Listen, Boss gives orders, and you follow them. Without any problems. Got it?"

Natasha couldn't bring herself to form words to say. Why was Antonov bringing Lorenzo into a conversation? What order did he give that she didn't carry out?

If Antonov was a mountain of fear, she didn't care. Yes, he looked like someone who didn't take nonsense from anyone, but he would take that of Natasha.

"Clean up, and then I'll bring you down to the maids. Clothes will be brought to you," he ordered.

Without any other words, he pointed to the door at his left. She walked toward it confidently.

She opened the white door and saw a luxurious bathroom with all that she needed. What came to her mind was, 'who used them before?' The maids? His flings?

She closed the door behind her.

Glancing into the mirror, she saw how dirty she looked. Unkempt. Her face was smeared with the makeup she had on earlier before going to the club. Her clothe was rumpled. She couldn't believe that this was how she has been around Lorenzo. Well, who cares?

She stepped into the shower. The moment the warm water hit her, sliding down her bare body, warming the numbness, she felt my tense muscles loosening.

With the contact of the water against her skin, she felt areas she had bruised herself. It ached. Yet, she let the water spray over her, ignoring the pain.

She reached up, squeezed out some shampoo in her palm, and started to massage it through her dirty hair. She let the water sluice through her hair.

Brown water, leaves, and small twigs swirled through the drain. When the water finally ran clear, she started to wash my body.

After she was done, she stayed under the water for a few more minutes, letting the heat penetrate her body.

She stepped out of the shower on wobbling legs, and when the cool air hit her body, she felt refreshed.

Grabbing a towel from a nearby rack, she started to dry her hair and then her body. She wrapped the towel around her and went to stand in front of the mirror. She looked much better.

Slowly, she opened the door and peeked outside. Antonov had left, so, she walked over to the bed, where a black dress was waiting for me with a pair of underwear.

The dress was simple, and when she put it on, it came down to mid-thigh. It flowed from the hips and fit her perfectly, showing her curves.

Putting on the white flats she found beside the bench, she walked back into the bathroom. She searched through and found a drawer that had hairbrushes, cologne, and a few cosmetics.

She simply brushed her hair and applied the cologne. She wasn't there for a beauty contest. Therefore, she left the cosmetics untouched.

She walked toward the door, her steps confident and her shoulders straight. Opening it, she saw Antonov waiting for her, leaning against the wall. When he looked at her, his eyes flared for a moment, his expression one of surprise.

"Walk," he said after masking his emotions again. His face was hard and he glared at her. It was probably the only thing he knew. Killing. Anger. And, inappropriately touching women.

Without waiting for her response, he started to walk toward the stairs. She followed him, her steps close behind his.

She was ready for this. Whatever would be thrown at her, she was ready. Until her mission was complete, Antonov and the likes of him were invisible to her.

Meanwhile, she had to throw away Vera and act like Natasha to fool everyone and swiftly accomplish her objective of taking up Lorenzo's offer.
