Chapter 3

After four years of being born into this world, I have made a significant discovery: I found out that I have been reincarnated into my son's novel. This realization came to me after my father, hired some educators last month to teach me.

My father noticed my exceptional intellect and instructed Gustav to spare no expense in hiring the best teachers available. Which resulted in me having 4 classes every day in math language magic and politics.

"Good morning, Master Lucas," greeted my instructor, Mr. Beckett.

Mr. Beckett was a slender man of 28 years, standing at a height of 5'8". I did some research and figured out that he was a descendant of a Baron who lived in a struggling region near the border of the demon kingdom. Unfortunately, the King had neglected the border due to the absence of demon sightings, making him feel safe and secure from any possible attack.

As he handed me the math problems, I noticed they were quite basic math problems, similar to those a third-grader might encounter. Nevertheless, my instructor had already labeled me a genius, so I took my time answering each question with ease, keen to maintain his expectations.

After just five minutes, I confidently handed Mr. Beckett the completed paper. "I'm finished," I announced.

As he scanned the paper, his eyes widened in surprise. "Wow, Master Lucas, another perfect score! You truly are a genius," he exclaimed, clearly impressed by my ability.

Impressed by my academic prowess, Mr. Beckett decided to change the subject of the class for today. "Master Lucas, Lets change the subject to Politics okay?" he asked with a bright smile.

"Today we will be discussing the different levels of nobility that exist within a feudal system. First, let's begin with the highest rank, the King. The King is the ruler of the entire kingdom, and holds the most power and authority." Mr.Beckett explained

"The next level of nobility is the Duke. They are below the King in rank and are the highest-ranking members of the peerage. They rule over large territories or provinces, and are responsible for maintaining order and justice within their lands."

"Marquesses are the next level of nobility and are also known as Margraves. They hold a rank just below that of a Duke, and typically rule over smaller territories or provinces."

'This is boring' I couldn't help but yawn while he continues explaining the ranks. I already knew all of this I was more interested in magic but he hasn't even touched the subject since he was hired to teach me much to my disappointment.

"Counts, Viscounts, and Barons are all lower-ranking nobles, with the rank of Count being the highest among them. Counts typically hold a rank just below that of a Marquess, while Viscounts are below Counts and Barons are the lowest rank of nobility. They often hold smaller territories or estates and have fewer responsibilities than the higher-ranking nobles."

"Oh looks like times up see you tomorrow master Lucas" Mr.Beckett left waving bye with a bright smile.

'Finally' I left the room and went straight to my room. I managed to get some books from Mr.Beckett that was focused solely on magic and I couldn't wait to start reading them. Interrupting my thoughts a maid stopped me in the hallway.

"Master Lucas the Count and the Countess have summoned you"

"Alright, I'll be right there" I wonder why they summoned me.

As I made my way to my father's office, I couldn't help but wonder why I had been summoned. Upon entering the room, my mother greeted me with a warm embrace and her signature bright smile, while my father's gaze focused on me as he rose from his chair. Gustav was behind my father waiting for his orders.

"How's my little genius?" my mother asked, still holding me in her arms.

My father, on the other hand, chimed in with a teasing remark, "Stop pampering him so much, you're going to make him soft."

My mother quickly defended her actions, "You know I can't help it. Besides, what's wrong with a mother giving her son a little love?"

My father let out a sigh before beginning to explain the reason for the meeting. "Lucas, you know Gustav, right?" he asked.

I nodded, "Yes, he's your advisor."

"Well, do you know how he became my advisor?" my father continued.

I shook my head, "No, father."

"When I was your age, my father summoned me to this very same office and told me that it was time to choose a knight to sign a mana contract with," he explained.

My father then proceeded to share some valuable advice, "You see, son, there are very few people you can trust in this world. That's why, to ensure that the next successor of this estate has at least some backing and help, they are allowed to choose a knight at the age of 4. A knight who will be with you during your toughest times."

Looking directly at me, my father revealed that it was my turn to choose my knight. Gustav had already selected five potential candidates from the training ground.

Gustav nodded and took charge, "Follow me, young Master Lucas," he said, bowing to my father and gesturing for me to follow him.

As we made our way to the training ground, Gustav explained that these were the best candidates to become my knight. Each of them had high potential in both magic and swordsmanship and would follow my orders without exception.

When we arrived, there were five knights kneeling, swords at their hips. They all looked down at the ground, waiting for my decision.

As I scanned the knights, the fourth one caught my eye. There was something different about him, something that drew me to him, although I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was.

"I want him," I said, pointing to the fourth knight.

The knight stood up, revealing grey hair and a muscular build. He looked to be in his mid-20s and was 5'10". However, the most intriguing part of him was his grey eyes, which seemed to be devoid of emotion.

Gustav smiled at my choice and congratulated the chosen knight, "Good choice, young Master. Rise, young knight, as you have been chosen to be the young lord's knight and ally."

Gustav took out the mana contract and added three conditions

The Knight can't physically or mentally harm his master unless the master explicitly wills it

The knight can't reveal any secrets or conversations that have been shared between the knight and his master to anyone unless explicitly told otherwise by the master.

The knight would pledge to serve their master faithfully and obey their orders, while the master would agree to treat their knight with respect and provide for their needs.

Gustav turned to the knight and asked, "Young Knight, do you agree to the terms?"

The knight responded in a monotone voice, "Yes."

Gustav then turned to me and asked, "Master Lucas, do you agree with the terms of the contract?"

I replied with a simple "Yes."

As the contract dissolved into the air, I felt a sudden pain in the back of my head. It seemed that the contract had been embedded in our minds and would remain there until either the knight or I violated its terms.

Curious about my new ally, I asked, "What is your name, knight?"

"My name is Andrew, young master," he replied, his dull grey eyes portraying no emotion.
