While strolling side by side with his mother, who was looking at him with worry in her eyes, little Nikolai fiddled with his fingers, lost in contemplation. He appeared neat. His basic, yet opulent, outfit poured regal proof, and his long, dark hair was beautifully brushed and braided.
He had just been released from the dungeon for the 20th time in less than two weeks due to his propensity to generate chaos wherever he went.
He subconsciously grinned as he heard voices in his head. He started to hear whispers that were more like chants, and in those whispers, he could make out a clearer voice.
'The dragon king Rodion is visiting today. Give him a scar to remember.'
It was Tiana.
'I.. I don't want to.' Nikolai persisted.
'How about I make you scar your dear mother. After all, she doesn't care one bit about you.'
Nikolai swallowed and bit down his lower lip.
'Don't make me see scary things then.'
