♡︎~Chapter 4~♡︎ KENDALL

What Kendall had truly been meaning to say to the gang was that: he knew nothing about his own P. A. Four years now, and he didn't even know whether she was single or married, or if she actually lived in New Jersey.

The funny thing was that, he'd never really put much thought in her personal life. Yet, they both formed the best pair when it came to working and winning multimillion deals. Cora was pretty in the minimum ways—he'd seen more good looking girls—has a bold and confident charisma, and she hated romance movies; it was the only thing he never forget since he found out one time that they both shared the common interest.

He began to recall if they shared any similar interests, and that was when the problem began. He truly knew nothing about her. For four years, the only informations he could proudly make of her was that she was born in 1998, she batched a second class degree in strategic management at some college in Connecticut. Or was it Canada?

He disagreed with his thoughts and brought his laptop to life. It was nighttime and Kendall had decided to stay home that Friday. The rest of his colleagues did wanted to party, but he was better off on his own inside his bedroom. He shrugged off the feeling when his head had suggested that he was probably at home and not at The Heist with the rest of his colleagues, because Cora wasn't there.

He was laying on his bed, his laptop just beside him. When it switched on, he typed in his password and went straight to Instagram.

Cora Flames.

There was a Cora B. Flames, and since it was the first name that popped up on his search, he clicked on the profile picture. The picture of a Disney princess—Moana—appeared. He wondered what the 'B' in her name had meant. Kendall never imagine she would bear another name asides Cora. There were a couple more pictures in the profile, none of them real people. He clicked on a post that had the face of the dark skinned princess from princess and the frog, and saw in the content: Tiana, my African pride. His brows arched up in confusion.

The next post beneath was the image of Elsa from frozen, and under the pic were the words written bold in all caps: QUEEN ELSA RULES!

Turned off from the profile's content, he went back to check out the other options under the searched name. The next was;  Cora The Flames, with the face of a man on full makeup, thick ungroomed beards clearly visible.

Cora is flammable?

Read another profile, and then another, and another. Nothing like Cora's page.

He squinted hard on the laptop, his blue eyes already making all they could visualize. His brain suggested he switched the order of the search and input Flames Cora instead, but he figured he'd only arrive at the same answer. He searched Facebook as well, same results.

It would be impossible trying to fetch out her name from the company's page. There were millions of followers, and no doubt Cora too would be one as well.

Or would she?

How was he supposed to look at her the same way again? He felt dissatisfied he was with a colleague, and yet, for four years she was still nothing but a mere stranger to him. Not that Kendall cared at all about the rest of his staffs, but Cora was supposed to be different.

He'd worked close with a few other staffs before, but Cora was the first to become his PA, and so far, he hadn't regretted his choice. Just when his mind had been lost in a 'Who is Cora?'  mystery, his phone vibrated somewhere on his bed. When he located it, the name; 'Steve Work' came up. His finger slide over the green circle. "Yes?... Oh, already?... Alright. I'll check it out now... And, it's for uh, business purpose, yea?... Alright, bye."

Time to get to work.

"Alright guys," Matt said as he rose up, ready to take his leave. His wife called up for an emergency shopping, and never in Matt's wildest dreams would he decline a request from his wife. It wasn't love, it was more of; if I say no, she'll divorce me and take away everything I have.

Fear.

Emergency shopping, according to Matt's wife, was walking into any store, and picking up random items that were completely useless to them—though his wife told him they would someday come in handy (Matt confirmed they never did).

"Uh," James rose to his feet as well, bringing a shot of whiskey to his mouth to empty the last content, then emitted a satisfying sigh afterwards. "I should get going too."

With a drawled tone, Tobin called out. "Aww, not you too..." he'd been more drunk than the rest of them.

Kendall on the other hand, had a superpower. He barely got affected by alcohol—whiskey? maybe not—as long as he drank in moderate contents. That being two times more of an average drinker as his friends. " Yea, leaving already? It's just--" he double tapped his phone on the table, "nine thirty."

"Yea, tell him... Tell," Tobin tried to speak, but no edible sentence was formed. He staggered left to right, his head falling on Kendall's every second, while Kendall pushed his head away.

"I uh, I gotta go... I," James began to stutter. Something he only did when he was lying. He was with the good looks and his pocket was heavy. The only thing sensible to do next was to spend all of his money and time on women.

Kendall's mind instantly recalled the moment James and the pretty bartender had casually flirted minutes ago. "Don't tell me you're hooking up with Sofia now?"

"Shhh! I gotta go man." And with that, he darted out, hitting his foot on the sofa in front. "Ouch!"

They heard him groan in pain on his way out. Matt said his goodbye too and left. Tobin had his head pressed on the table, groaning in hangover. He was truly a terrible drinker.

Kendall reached for his phone to dial a number. He hung up after announcing to a lady he felt James was seeing at the moment, to come pick him up. She'd said she would be around the next ten minutes.

He waited.

Was it only three minutes, Kendall had thought hours had passed by already. His mind went back to his P.A once again, and a thought dawned on him.

A call was made, and it rang just once. "Oh hi Steve, I've got a favor to ask... I need you to feed me infos about Cora... Yes, Cora Flames." His eyes rolled in disbelief, "Yes, same Cora. The same one we work with." He made a frustrated grunt, and mumbled to himself. "Who else would I be talking about?" Steve apologized, and Kendall continued. "So, when can I get-- oh, tonight?... Cool then."
