"Yes *cough* yes it's nice to meet you Haraldur." Thorin replied while he took his hand, looking at Haraldur relieved and hoping it was who he thinks it is.

"Your majesty I was hoping we could go over the details of the journey?" Haraldur asked confident as his blue eyes became hard and cold, while his body became tense.
The king under the mountain snapped out of his daze quickly becoming serious and void of any emotions. He crossed his arms over his chest and eyebrows furrowed as his own matching blue eyes becoming cold as well. Both dwarfs stood there analysing each other. The room became tense watching both dwarfs waiting for a response from one of them.
"Let's" Thorin huffed a reply. Both black haired dwarfs headed out towards the kitchen.
As they entered the kitchen, they walked towards the table. As Haraldur walked towards the far end, Thorin sat at the other end of the table. As both dwarfs sat there waiting for the other to speak first, the atmosphere started to become more awkward and tense. The heavy silence hung in the air, the other not know what to say to the other.

As both blue eyed dwarfs left the room, the company became in a uproar. Everyone shouting over the other, Balin and Dwalin stood in the background confused and wondering if it was who they thought it was. As the brothers began to quietly talk among themselves.
"Do ya see it brother, similarities you don't think it could be-" Dwalin was interrupted.
"Brother we are not sure if it is him, we could be wrong," Balin said to Dwalin trying to calm him down.
"Then we question him! We can even ask the wizard to do some magic majoo to check if it is really him!" Dwalin yelled, waving his arms about trying to get his point across.
"True we could do that but we can't be obvious about our suspicions, because by the looks of it he doesn't even know Thorin's name when it was mentioned, so I suggest we keep this to ourselves and approach this cautiously," Balin explained thinking it through.
"What?! Why?! If it's him we should find out right now and tell him! It's his right to know!" Dwalin exclaimed towards his brother wondering why he was thinking like that.
"Because think about it brother," Balin gave him a condescending look, " It is not out our right or place it is Thorin's, if I am right and Haraldur doesn't know of his heritage and Thorin doesn't want him to know then we don't say anything. Understood?"
"But-"
"Am I understood brother?" Balin raised his eyebrow.
"Yes" Dwalin mumbled as he walked off sulking and grumbling.
Balin sighed wondering what he got himself into. Looking around he saw the company have calmed down a bit but still rambling and questioning on what was happening. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the hobbit, coming into the room looking unsure and confused on what was happening.

Bilbo was rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, while having a tight grip on his robe. The burglar heard the knock wondering who else came, then he heard a loud commotion. As he walked into the living room he saw the dwarves in the frenzy, he saw them taking quick glances towards the kitchen. Thinking the worst the hobbit began to stomp towards the kitchen, already in a bad mood, muttering under his breath about dwarves and their lack of respect. As Bilbo was heading towards the kitchen both Dwalin and Balin quickly got in the hobbits way standing guard, the taller dwarf had his arms crossed in a intimidating way as the grey haired dwarf stood with an apologising smile.
"Don't ya even think about it hobbit, this is none of your concern," Dwalin gritted out with a death glare sending it right through Bilbo.
"What do you mean it doesn't concern me?! This is my kitchen! What did you guys do anyway?!" Bilbo shouted while waving his arms about in a over exaggerating way.
"What did you say hobbit!? We didn't do nothing!" Dwalin replied while taking a threatening step, "It's. none. of. ya. business." With each word he jabbed his finger into Bilbo's chest.
"Now calm down brother, we don't won't to cause a scene" Balin calmly said while getting between the both.
"What do you mean calm down! He started it! Eth vmark krugg!" (The half bastard) Dwalin exclaimed looking like he was about to attack the poor hobbit.
As the company stepped forward to try and calm the hobbit down.
"ENOUGH!" A booming voice came echoing through the home holding such authority sending shivers down everyone's spine, that would even put the dragon to shame.
In the door way stood Haraldur, his body tense and straight as he loomed in the entrance of the kitchen . His fists curled to contain his anger but what stood out the most was his eyes, they held such fury and command that no one dared to disobey. The more you looked more it seemed as they were glowing. That is what really sent terror through you.
Everyone snapped out of it as the angry soldier made his way to the two arguing. Bilbo stood there visibly shaken, giving an audible gulp, as even Dwalin looked a bit worried. However, Balin stood there with a proud look on his face.
"What's happening here? Do you have any decency to talk like civilised men, instead on screaming like a bunch of raging baboons." Haraldur calmly said in a deadly voice, as he stood over Bilbo while staring Dwalin down.
As the blue eyed dwarf began to lecture the bearded dwarf completely ignoring the hobbit who stood there contemplating if he should sneak away or not, the company stood there with mixed expressions of humour that the mighty dwarf Dwalin was getting lectured and of shocked, wondering what was happening. In the background Thorin stood, looking calmer than before with a far away look on his face as he was lost in deep thought, thinking of the conversation that just took place.
*Flashback*
As Thorin finished explaining on what will be happening, Haraldur sat there with his hands in front of his mouth leaning on them, his face in concentration, eyebrows frowered. Thorin sat there in fascination and awe, it has been 80 years since the last time he had seen and held him, big blue eyes that resembled so much like his own, just like the rest of him, he had chubby cheeks and soft hands that wouldn't stop grabbing and tugging at his braids, but now he was a grown dwarf, not his little Prince anymore. He was saddened by that, but he was also afraid he missed him growing up, and that he knows nothing of him, or the life he had. To make it worse Haraldur is now involved in this journey if people find out about his heritage they will be after him. He can't have that, he can't let people know about Haraldur, especially him.
"So where do I sign?" The younger dwarf asked with his head tilted, with an eyebrow raised. Confused with the kings lack of reaction and far away look he waited for an answer.
Thorin was quickly snapped out of his thoughts with a waiting Haraldur looking at him. Wasn't listening Thorin cleared his throat as he let out a confused hum.
Haraldur let out a deep chuckle with amusement shining through his eyes, "I asked why do I sign? You know to join this company." Haraldur said out slowly with a smirk on his face.
Quickly composing himself Thorin made his face blank with emotion and body tense with seriousness. "Not quite yet," voice gruff "I want to ask you some questions I don't know you, nor do I trust you."
True. If I was in his shoes I would have done the exact same thing, I wouldn't have wanted some random dwarf, I have just met to join a company where I was supposed to put my life in there hands.
But what questions though?
"Sure, ask anything you want Master Oakenshield." Haraldur said after thinking it through, straightening his shoulders and back, crossing his leg over his left thigh while crossing his hands together on his lap.
"Mmmm" Thorin nodded while he crossed his arms across his chest trying to intimidate the lad. "How old are you lad?"
"83 sir"
"Family?"
"No"
"No?"
"No... I lost my amad when I was 25." Haraldur replied with a blank face his voice free from any emotion, however a sad look crossing his eyes, it came as quickly as it went.
"May I ask...how?" Thorin approached the subject carefully, also saddened to know that Dia might be gone. Concentrating on Haraldurs emotions trying to discipher what he was thinking.
"Orcs" He said in a tone with so much hate and anger it even made Thorin wince," They slaughtered her while she tried to protect me, hid me in a bush, she ran while gaining the orcs attention, making sure they didn't see me." Haraldur took a deep breath trying to keep his emotions together,"I ran... like a coward... I could of helped... protected my amad but I couldn't... I couldn't even get away from them!" Haraldur shouted as he slammed his fist down on the table in anger, his face showed so much pain, hate, grief and guilt. But suddenly he became alarmed that he lost control of his anger so easily like that, and that he almost revealed some of his past as well. Seeing Thorin wide eyed, quickly Haraldur started stuttering an excuse again loosing his composure.
"Sorry about that! I sort of blabber when I get excited, nervous or angry, like now I'm nervous, and I was upset especially talking about my amad... you see I was a mummy's boy you know clingy and desperate for attention-"
"Haraldur!" Thorin exclaimed with his hands up getting the younger dwarfs attention to stop. "Stop" The king said gently.
"I'm sorry"
Sat in awkward silence both dwarfs waited for the other to speak. Letting out a deep sigh, Thorin began to speak.
"Don't lad, there's nothing to be sorry about, let's change the conversation? Ok?"
Haraldur nodded letting out a relieved sigh out. As much as a relief to him say that, now it's just as awkward than it was at the beginning, it's been a long time since I've lost my composure like that before. Not since... Haraldur shook his thoughts away, nows not the time for a trip down memory lane. You've got work to do, Gandalf asked you for help and you promised you would protect everyone win the company, so that's what you going to do.
"So? Can I sign the contact now please?" The dwarf asked nervously as he cleared his throat.
Thorin look Haraldur in the eyes. I have no choice do I?
"Yes"
*End of flashback*
Thorin came out of his thoughts by a sound of a cough next to him. Looking to his left he saw Balin looking towards the commotion with a small smile and a content look on his face. Looking over Thorin saw Dwalin started to argue back with Haraldur as they are now face to face with eachother, neither of them backing down.
"It's him isn't it?" Balin said quietly not needing the a response to know the answer.
"Yes"
"Haraldur Silver is my SON."
