The red-eyes demon was sent flying out of Evan's room, the force which sent it flying blowing a huge hole in the Duncan's House.
"Stay here." With a quick instruction, the blue-haired girl walked confidently towards the demon, her elegant poise looking as if she was just taking a walk down the park.
In her eyes, she did not see the red-eyes demon as a threat.
"Okay..." Evan nodded his head with great effort, he still hadn't recovered from the previous attack.
However, that wasn't why he was acting this way. Evan was in fact shocked by the blue-haired girl's power.
He and Sam struggled to fight against the red-eyes demon, not even leaving as much as a small cut on its body and yet this girl came out of nowhere and managed to seriously hurt it.
Evan wasn't even sure what to feel right now other than being shocked.
The blue-haired girl jumped down from the second floor onto the very dark streets. It seems like even after leaving the room, the world the demon created still exists.
"You damn spirit hunter, state your name and rank now and I will promise you I will leave your corpse intact!" The red-eyed demon roared in both pain and fury. It placed its hands on the spear that barely missed its heart before attempting to remove it from its chest.
Before it could do that a figure emerged in front of it. The blue-haired girl conjured another spear, planning to hit the demon relentlessly!
"Come!" As if waiting for her, the demon opened its mouth that split in four, a black beam of light quickly formed before being released towards the girl's head!
"Watch out!" Evan yelled, but it was too late. The black beam of light crashed down on the girl aiming right for her head.
Unfazed, the girl only plunged her newly formed spear into the black beam!
"Die!" The red-eyes demon rejoiced that the girl was so stupid enough to face his beam head-on.
The beam and spear connected, but instead of erupting, the black beam halted in midair before dissipating into cold breeze.
"Impossible—!" The demon screamed, confused about why his most powerful attack failed.
Unfortunately for it, the demon did not have enough time to ponder why. The blue-haired girl raised her spear and positioned it at the demon's heart!
"Screw you, Spirit Hunter!" The demon yelled before stumping its feet on the ground in an attempt to fall back by jumping into the air.
Stomp!
But its attempt failed as the blue-haired girl pressed down her right foot into his own, intercepting his escape!
Feeling its legs beginning to fall to the ground, the red-eyed demon bellowed, "I will not be cut down by a human!"
The red-eyed demon formed intricate hand seals, and a sinister-looking gate materialized behind it.
The gate unfurled like a colossal, malevolent being parting its massive jaws, unleashing a growing surge of ominous energy into the world. The eerie energy permeated far and wide, before forcefully halting its advance around the demon.
Not even a moment later, the ice spear struck the demons where its heart resides.
However, it didn't budge an inch after touching the demon. It stood still as if frozen in time.
"Behold the power of hell!" The demon laughed with renewed courage. The blue-haired girl truly frightened him.
"That's the same power it used to make us kneel, but why does it feel way stronger than before?" Evan whispered to himself, worried that the blue-haired girl wouldn't be able to handle the demon alone.
The blue-haired girl realizing that her spear won't budge paused, but only for a moment.
"I said stay back." As if knowing Evan's intentions she muttered loud enough for him to hear before raising her free hand.
"But...!" Evan wanted her to reconsider, but right then and there, behind her six giant ice spears came into existence.
These enormous spears were overflowing with frigid energy, causing the dimension created by the demon to waver.
"Oh my. Such dense spirit qi." The red-eyed demon smiled pathetically, sweat dripping down his head. Those six huge spears were on par with the ominous energy he summoned into this world, if not stronger.
"Die." She struck the demon right back with the same word. However, when she said it, the world created by the demon couldn't help but quiver at her response!
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
Three spears vanished, and three detonated. These spears led the world created by the demon to wail. If any more were to detonate, the world created by the demon would have surely been destroyed.
Ice energy spread out in all directions, turning the world into an icy globe. The ominous energy that spread out seemed insignificant in comparison.
"So strong!" Evan exclaimed while holding Sam as he tried to withstand the strong wind created by the explosions. Now he understood why she kept telling him to stay back. If he were to join the battle, chances are he would have already turned into an ice cube or worse - with his body blowing up into said ice cubes.
Looking at the streets that became a battlefield against the demon and blue-haired girl, Evan was amazed. There was only one person in this world Evan respected the most and that was Lionel Duncan, his adoptive father.
Now, by showcasing her strength, the blue-haired girl became the second person Evan respected the most in this world.
Five minutes later, the cold winds vanished revealing the battlefield.
The blue-haired girl stood in her exact spot, her body didn't move an inch, her face calm as if she expected these results and there were no visible injuries on her body.
As for the demon, it was a surprise he was still alive, though barely.
The red-eyes demon lost an arm, half of his waist blown apart and one of his legs mangling to stay attached.
The demon was clearly in a miserable state.
"You actually managed to stop three of my spears." The blue-haired girl's cold voice entered the demon's ears.
Raising his head the demon revealed that his entire flesh was gone. All that was left was its horrifying skull.
"Impressive." The blue-haired girl praised with a huge smirk. Her cold attitude replaced with rightful arrogance.
She was the winner in their duel after all.
"Damn you human—" Seeing the blue-haired girl smirk, the demon wanted to roar but only coughed up blood instead.
In truth, the demon's injuries weren't as serious as it seems. As long as its heart remains intact, it could easily recover with the ominous energy it released from the gate.
However, the enemy this time was too strong. Her cold energy easily surpassed the ominous energy it could release into this world.
And that made him fearful for his life. Gaining the little willpower he had, the demon opened the gate once more in an attempt to flee.
"You're not leaving!" Noticing the demon being sneaky, the blue-haired girl rushed towards him planning to end its miserable life.
An ice spear materializes in her hand once again. Gripping it firmly, she struck the spear behind her, ignoring the demon.
"What is she doing!" Evan who finally managed to get a view of the battlefield saw the girl attacking her behind instead of dealing the final blow to the demon.
Sam tugged at the confused Evan to gain his attention before pointing his finger behind the girl's back.
Looking where he was pointing at Evan was shocked. A humanoid bull with six arms launched a barrage of punches at the blue-haired girl.
"To think a red spirit wielder would be protecting those boys." The red-eyes demon who was about to escape took a glimpse to see that its spirit had everything under control.
He laughed. "No matter. Even though you are a red spirit wielder your strength has its limits and the spirit qi you can use at once isn't much and that's because of your pitiful human mortality."
"You may have defeated me, but unless you bring out your own spirit, there's no way you can kill me!" Seeing his spirit easily cornering her, the demon couldn't help but laugh some more.
"But you won't do that. Do you know why? Because you spirit wielders of the Spirit Hunter Association are afraid of your enemies finding out what spirit you wield and creating countermeasures to bring you down!"
"Haha! How idiotic! My Depraved Society does not need to worry about such schemes, because demons don't use such lowly tactics to kill each other! Instead, we brawl it out with our own fist until one of us bleeds to death!"
"And then there's you humans. Authority, Ghost Asylum Group, Spirit Hunter Association, etc. You are all the same. And that's why no matter how much you try, as long as you cannot unite humanity, you will never defeat us demons!"
"You may have won this time, but mark my words. When I become a red-veined demon the first person head I will claim is yours, girl!" He roared causing more blood to spill out of his mouth.
"And you two." The red-eyes demon turned his head or rather his skull towards Evan and Sam who couldn't help but step back at his intense gaze.
Even in such a wretched, miserable state, the demon still managed to instill fear in both of them.
"Don't think this is over. Once I advance, you two will become my desert! I no longer care what the vice general thinks! I will make sure to eat the both of you and become an even greater demon and if he dares to complain after I am done with you, boy by the name Evan Belmont, I will claim his head and become the new vice general!" The demon exclaimed as if he went insane, his voice seething with madness.
"Hahahaha!" The demon continues laughing before leaving through the gate. Even though he lost, it makes one question whether or not he really did.
After he left the streets became quiet. The spirit that was fighting the blue-haired girl vanished and the world created by the demon dismissed itself, returning the three of them back to reality.
Evan seeing that all the damage done to his home repaired itself as if it wasn't real to begin with and seeing that Sam was still alive sighed in relief.
"We made it out alive." He said with a relieved smile, bringing Sam closer to pat his head.
Feeling the warmth of his head, Evan soon became dizzy, his eyes becoming blurry before falling onto the ground.
Before losing consciousness all he saw was long blue hair catching him.
