The Lonely Monarch

Dust, into the wind it blows. Time has been the enemy of all. I've watched as it turned cities into ruin, monsters into decaying corpses But I am here... I am always here...For I am The Lonely Monarch...

Introduction: The Lonely Monarch

There was no warning, no notice and no preparation of any kind when The Voice spoke. Only what it said. A voice both male and female, switching to and from a deep man and a calm feminine tone as it spoke.

'PEOPLE OF EARTH, WE HAVE COME TO SAVE YOU FROM YOUR IMPENDING DOOM, AS A CALAMITY WILL COME TO YOUR WORLD IN 10 YEARS.'

It gave the people a few minutes to process its word, some panicked others just wrote it off as some prank but most were just alert by its next sentence as it returned.

'BUT FEAR NOT AS WE SHALL GUIDE YOU ALL TO NEW WORLDS WHICH HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS SO THAT YOU MAY BE PREPARED TO FACE IT HEAD ON WITH YOUR OWN STRENGTH. YOU WILL GROW ACCORDING TO THE SKILLS AND STATS YOU WILL SEE ON YOUR STATUS IN A MOMENT AND WITH IT YOU SHALL GROW STRONGER BY LEVELING UP AND GAINING ACCESS TO NEW SKILLS AND CLASSES WHILE SOME OF YOU MIGHT NOT MAKE IT TO THE HARSH REALITIES OF THE WORLD YOU GO TO.'

Once again their confusing yet powerful voice ceases as transparent boards float up in front of people's eyes, one for every human displaying their name, level, age, sex as well as class and evaluation of their growth. Most have average or slightly above as their evaluation, but only that. While others are going over their status The Voice speaks out once more.

'NOW THAT I HAVE GIVEN THE POWER TO FIGHT IT IS TIME TO SEND YOU ALL TO YOUR DESTINATIONS, GOOD LUCK AND MAY YOU STRIVE TO PROTECT YOU AND THOSE YOU LOVE.'

As the majestic voice stops speaking, rings of light surround the people as they disappear instantly leaving specks of light falling to the ground as this happens all around the world as all of humanity disappears to other worlds.....or so the cosmic entity thought.

As all of humanity disappears one is left behind, in the small country of New Zealand only It… was left… Alone. as the cosmic entity perceives It's work, it notices, despite its absolute work, despite the overwhelming power it took to transport all of humanity away… there it saw an anomaly… it saw one single mistake.

From the moment He was brought into this world, only loneliness. From the moment he went to daycare to interact with the other cute and pure children, loneliness. From the moment he entered primary school and became a target for bullies That was his first moment where he finally interacted with other people, not in the way he expected, most certainly. But at least he interacted, that was what he took away from this. Raised in a house with happy step parents and a abusive sister, Daniel never quite....fit in with the rest of his family as he was weak, stupid and extremely lonely and just disconnected from people. As he walked home from school after another beating from his old bullies, blood running from his nose onto his blue hoodie. Suddenly The Voice he heard in his head began to speak, which seemed to bounce around his mind like a super bouncy ball banging around a house.

As his heart rate sped up due to it's long speech about how the world is going to change and how humanity is being teleported to other worlds he looked around and saw rings of sparkling golden light curling around people as one by one in a bright flash, disappear and so with hopeful and wishful eyes he waits for his turn to come… and waits… and waits some more until a full 10 minutes later he opens his eyes to find he is still on the side path in front of his house like he was before.

A million thoughts run past his mind before he starts sprinting to his front door and turns the knob and walks in to find it empty, no mother cooking curry like a normal Wednesday, no father helping her, not even his tough sister whom he doesn't mind the absence of but still prefers having in this situation. He then runs out of the house, breathing quickly as he runs to the house next door and finds his neighbors absent as well. He continues to run more and more to other houses, only to find them empty, sweat pouring down his already pale ghostly face as he finally comes to terms with what has happened, breathing heavily from all the running he had done in search as he takes slow yet big steps inside his home and walks into his empty room and sits in his bed, sweat mixed with tears of despair falling from his face as he looks at her floor as one thought keeps coming up in his mind.

'I've been abandoned'

Of all the thoughts that past his head

This was the main one that stuck, and in his moment of despair he was met with a loud gender switch voice once again.

'WHAT IS THIS ERROR?'
