5 January, 1369. St Ivan's Palace, Havietten.
Celia had allowed herself to hope that following their honest discussion after the New Year's Day banquet debacle, things might become a little less rocky between her and Tobin.
She hoped that by letting himself open up somewhat to her and revealing his true thoughts, he might now see her as someone he could start to trust, rather than just an enemy.
Those hopes turned out to be in vain.
The opposite happened. Tobin seemed furious with her. He seemed utterly livid that liquor had led him to lower his defences around her. He remembered that Celia had heard him speak of his own weaknesses.
And he now seemed to hate her for what she'd heard.
She didn't even have the energy to argue about how their current situation wasn't her fault. She simply made efforts to keep as far away from him as possible.
