King Triton was sick (11)

When she was out of sight Ariel unzipped her tail and walked into the staff room she locked the door. Harrison tried opening it but could not. She quickly changed and opened the door and walked passed him.

"Don't go we need to talk." He said.

"No I don't think so. I no longer work for you. So get lost." She said.

He grabbed her, "You can not go anywhere with my wife's heart in your body."

"This is my heart, possession is nine tenth of the law so the heart is mine. I thought you were a good person turns out I was wrong." She walked away grabbing a taxi that just stopped out front.

While on her way to see Heather she called Marcus.

"Are you all right?" He asked.

"Not really. Can you send my things over to

St. Mary's shelter. Tell Lily I had to go back to my father for awhile. Tell her I'll miss her."

"Are you sure about this?" Marcus said.

"I can't work with that man. If I could rip this heart out and give it back to him I would. Right now I wish they would of let me die back then." He could hear her crying now.

"I'll send your stuff to your father, I hope he gets well soon." He said.

Ariel knew Lily was there and he did not want her to give up on believing in Fairytales.

She hung up and road in silence. When she got to the restaurant, Heather pulled her into a hug and let her cry her eyes out.

Harrison came into the office. He was on the phone to maintenance to place a closed sign on the Mermaid tank and the dolphin tank.

Marcus was sitting on the couch with a crying Lily. He had told her King Triton was sick and Ariel had to rush back to rule in her fathers place. She would not be able to see her anymore.

"Daddy, why did she have to leave. She loved the human world. I bet her Dad is not even sick he is just tricking her." She ran over into his arms.

"Don't cry, she may be back soon you never know." He said wiping her nose with a tissue.

"I need to go. I'll talk to you at home." Marcus said.

Marcus went home and packed all of Ariel's things. She really did not have much. This was kind of sad.

He made out a check for $2,000 for the work she did here. It had only been a week but under the circumstance he would give her the whole month.

He then packed his bags. Before heading over the shelter he stopped off at the cemetery.

"Hey, Kimmy it's been a while. I'm sorry. I tried to be strong and look after them but I can't do it any more. You know I love you and have loved you from the first time you hit me to get the red crayon. Those were the good old days.

I am in love with the girl that has your heart. I was in love with her before I knew. She is smart and funny and a hard worker.

My brother just see her as a replacement for you. Because she has your heart she has to belong to him.

She wanted to rip her own heart out and give it back if she could. She wished she would of died. He turned your gift you gave into a burden.

Kimmy, I don't know what to do. I miss you and I'm tired." He left a white lily on her grave. It had always been her favorite.

He then drove to the shelter. Father Robert took the things and Marcus left.

He book a plane at 10 pm for their offices in Harborview on the other side of the country. He had to get away. But first he had to talk to his brother.

"Lily can you go play out side?" Marcus asked.

"Ok" She said walking out the back doors.

"Lily, will be fine once we get Ariel back." Harrison said.

"She's not coming back. I'm not either. I have been needed in Harborview for sometime now. I have a flight later there. I don't know if I will be able to come back or not. Only time will tell. You will need to hire someone to be with Lily. Please try to be more of a father then you have been. Lily is what Kimmy left behind for you. Not Kimmy's heart. She left that for Ariel."

"Don't leave. I have just been so lonely without Kimberly here I went a little crazy."

"I've been lonely since Kimmy said she liked you. I lost the love of my life then. I tried to pretend to be happy but I wasn't with seeing you two together. Before she died she asked me to watch over the both of you. I can't do it anymore. I need someone to love and to love me back but you ruined the first girl I had feelings for since Kimmy."

"I'm sorry. How can I make it up to you?"

"You can't but if you ever run into her look the other way. She has a hard road a head and she does not need your baggage to carry. It's way to heavy."

"Are you going to tell Lily bye." He asked.

"Yes, I could never leave with out saying bye to my little red."

He got up and went out side.

"Hey red, you ok?" He asked.

"Yes, do you think she will ever come back?"

"I don't know red. I hate to give you more bad news but I need to leave on business for awhile. Will you be alright?"

"How long, last time you left it was for a week." She said.

"I don't know how long. But we can talk everyday. You have my number. I need you to also take care of your dad and not let him push you off on others like he does sometimes."

"Ok, Did daddy make Ariel leave?" she asked.

"Why would you say that?"

She shrugged her shoulders. She was smarter then they gave her credit for.

"I have to go catch a plane." He kissed her and left.

Harrison sat in the livingroom staring at the back yard. What had he done?

Ariel was the best thing ever to come into Lily's life and for his own selfish mind he caused her to give up jobs that she loved.

He was even losing his brother over all this.
