Getting to know you (80)

Ariel got home around 4 and took a quick shower. She then braided her long hair and twisted it into a bun. She put on light make up and chose a peach peasant blouse with a cream color skirt. She slipped on her peach flat and last thing was to feed Baby some chicken party.

She arrived at 5:45 and was greeted with a smile by a grey haired lady. "Ariel, long time no see. You finally decided to show your face around here."

"Sorry Heather, I've just been really busy. I am meeting someone here tonight."

"Yes I know. He is taking a call outside. Come I'll give you the best seat in the house. You know he could of taken you anywhere he is loaded." Heather said walking with her to a table in the corner.

"I know he wanted to take me to 'B Pесторане' that fancy Russian restaurant. I asked to come here instead. How do you know Mr. McKenna?"

"What Mr. McKenna crap is that. Marcus and my son go way back. Nelson and the other have been blood brothers since they were around 13 or so. They spent time together in a juvenile center. That is how they met. They made each other better men." Heather said. "Here he comes."

Ariel looked over and watch as Marcus rolled himself over. "Sorry had to finish a quick meeting with my partner. Hope I did not keep you waiting long?"

"No, I was just talking to Heather." She smiled.

"Take your time. I'll be back with your drinks." Heather said.

"You look beautiful tonight." Marcus said.

"You look a little handsome too."

"Just a little?" He wiggled his eyebrows.

Ariel laughed, "Very Handsome."

Heather brought over two Dr. Kens and placed them down. "Ready to order?"

"I'll have the usual." Marcus said not even looking at the menu's.

"Me too." Ariel took both menus and handed them to Heather.

"Two chicken fried steaks, mashed potatoes, green beans. One gravy over all. One gravy on potatoes and a bowl on the side." She said before heading to the kitchen.

"She does have the best here." Ariel smiled.

"Yes but gravy on the side?"

"I like to dip mine. Keeps every piece crispy to the end. With it over all the last few bites are soggy."

"I see. Ariel if I told you I know you from a dream would you believe me?"

"That's a little silly. How can a dream tell you all about a person?" She said taking a drink of her Dr. Ken.

"Ariel, my dream may of not been 100% right but it made me fall in love with a Mermaid. Let me tell you for the dream I had."

She listened quietly as he told his story from her working at an Aquarium as a Mermaid to her being killed many times. When he got to the part they were married in a hospital and she gave her life for Lilly. She just shook her head. Then when it turned into a scifi tell she just laughed.

"The only thing that you know about me that is right is my name. But even that was wrong. I have not been Thomas since I was 10. I really don't understand all this."

"I know the story is weird and I should of recognize that I was in a dream because Heny is not a doctor he is my partner. Mickey has never been crazy. Harper and Tubby do not work for the stars they are firefighters. The only thing that was right was JJ he really is in special forces. I can't tell you why but I really would like the chance to see if we could get to know each other better."

"Ok, ask me anything and I'll tell you the truth." Ariel said.

"You said you have a daughter. Tell me about her." He asked.

"Let me see. She is two. Very small for her age and will get no bigger. I guess that is a blessing. She has more golden hair then white and brown. She has the softest hair but a very bad temper. She really chews me out when she can't get her chicken party on time. She loves to hide her pet mice in my shoes. I had two in my shoes I wore tonight."

Marcus was getting very confused. "What is her name?"

"Oh, Princess Parriwenkel but I just call her baby."

"Strange name for a child."

Ariel laughed, "Well for a kid yes but a cat not so much. My neighbors little girl named her for me. The mother cat died and I raised three kittens by bottle. The other two are in my building too. Sarah has one his name is Prince Killjoy. Mrs. Potter has one his name is Yettle. Then I kept baby."

"I would love to meet her then."

"She hates strangers but if you are willing then I'll introduce you some times. Do you have any pets or children?"

"No on both. Lily spends time with me sometimes but lately her Dad and I have been in a disagreement."

"I'm sorry. Not trying to pry or anything but you really should make up. Life is to short to hold grudges."

"Easier said then done. He is mad that I refused to marry a girl my father set up for me. He got to marry my best friend why should I settle for an arranged marriage. My father then caused my accident but my brother will not listen."

"Are you sure?" Ariel took his hand.

"Mickey has all the proof. Yes I'm sure."

"I am sorry."

Their food then came out and they thanked Heather. "Tell me about yourself then." Ariel said cutting into her steak then dipping it into her bowl of gravy.

"Where to start. I'm 5 foot 6 tall. My birthday is December 2 19xx so I am 25 years old. I have always loved computers and my grandfather sent me to MIT to learn from the best. He also help me start my own company. My mother an airhead that does whatever my father says. My dad is a bastard that should never have the title of father. Harry my brother is just like the old man but at one time he was a good brother. He married my best friend since preK Kimmy. She loved him and went after him. I have five blood brothers. You met Harper and Mickey. There is also Tubby, Heny, and JJ. We all got nicknames while in Juvie. All for different things. When we got out we decided to make something out of ourselves and help each other get through life."

"Sounds like you've got true brothers in them. I wish I had that kind of friendship. Kids didn't like me much growing up. I have always kind of been a loner."
